- ~she desends the stairs making her way over the water to stand before him, looking up to him she smiles her eyes glistening another tear falls. A long awaited mission brought her to him. Now she stands before him a scribe by caste, a woman looking to the one she would never have thought would bring her the joy of love and the power and strength of friendship. She speaks softly and recites the words she has spoken to her self over and over in her furs From Al Tariq Temos Nykotos now to Lara... finding them fit to share with the man she vows her friendship and love~
- Bebrus you mean more to me than you will ever know. I can only hope that I show you each day how much your love and friendship means to me.. I want to bring some of the traditions from our home lands to Lara and make our own traditions...
- Many nights I recited this and many nights I wondered if I would ever find the meaning to the words. Once I recite them I will share the tradition of the Tahari with you, as our fathers once recited to each other...Trading amongst the Tuchuks and the tribesmen of the Tahari.
- When we were idlers with the loitering rills,
- The need of human love we little noted:
- Our love was nature; and the peace that floated
- On the white mist,
- And dwelt upon the hills,
- To sweet accord subdued our wayward wills:
- One soul was ours, one mind, one heart devoted,
- That, wisely doting, ask’d not why it doted,
- And ours the unknown joy, which knowing kills.
- But now I find how dear thou wert to me;
- That man is more than half of nature’s treasure,
- Of that fair beauty which no eye can see,
- Of that sweet music which no ear can measure;
- And now the streams may sing for others’ pleasure,
- The hills sleep on in their eternity.
- Rayn:
- Before me are 2 bottles of salt. Representing each of us in body and soul it is needed for our survival it is released in our hard work with the sweat from our brow, it is also released in joy and sorrow through our tears and in the blood shed fighting to protect our home stones. In the Tahari it represents Brotherhood and a trusted bond between two never to be taken lightly. ~
- ~ removing the glove from her right hand, she takes a pinch of Salt and places it upon her right wrist and speaks~ Let there be salt between us, I am one who shares salt with you ~ extending her wrist to him~
- Bebrus [ right wrist ]
- Rp then repeat your words ...{{ EX }} *Touching his tongue to the salt in the sweat of her right wrist. He looked to her then extended his own wrist to her * Let there be salt between us, I am one who shares salt with you
- Rayn:
- ............~lifting her veils slightly just to expose her lips to him as she bends and licks his wrist taking in the musk of him along with the dampness of the sweat he has shed ...she licks him gently the cool of his flesh on the warmth of her tongue. before rising she places a gentle kiss where the salt once mounded. Adjusting her veils she rises to him looking to him once more she replaces her right glove.~
- Bebrus:
- ... Rp {{ EX }} *Taking both of her hands bringing them to his lips he kissed them* We have shared salt as we will share a home.

- Angeline:
- The Free Woman is trained from childhood to be the Companion. Though she does the following before the companionship in camp or her own home, she does it now to bring honor to his name and home and their Companionship. Her actions now, represent them both. The Free Woman is the heart of the household. She is the hostess, everything she does reflects upon him. All who enter His house are greeted and made comfortable. The food and drink are overseen by her, and it must always be the best her Companion can afford; She spends his monies wisely. She takes care of the things in the home, she tells the slaves what their chores are, she makes the foods are prepared properly and that his home is perfect for Him.
- She dines beside him in the company of his friends and business associates, so must therefore be articulate. She bears His children, so she must be nurturing. She keeps his books, so she must therefore be literate. She is the gentle comfort at his side. She must accept the fact that he is The Gorean Master as well as her Companion, and therefore is understanding to the needs of his kaji as well. She is as much under the discipline of Her Companion as a kajira is of her Master. She may often feel the whip and at times when she has displeased him, she will find herself chained at the foot of their bed to spend a cold night on the tiles.
- She wears the robes of concealment and face veils, or the leathers and nose ring of the Wagon Peoples. Her jewelry is not garish, her perfumes are subtle and she kneels in the manner of a feminine woman. A Free Companion is held in esteem only as long as she maintains her dignity, the same as it was before the contracting. She represents Him, and in doing so, her speech and her actions must always reflect his status. She owns nothing but what he gives her unless it is stated differently in the contract. She does not take slaves unless it is in the contract. He may, on the other hand, take slaves anytime he wishes. The Free Woman knows this and accepts it. He is the Master. yet during this period of companionship, neither party may willingly engage in sexual activity with another Free Person who is not their sworn Free Companion.
- Lady Rayn, you are still a woman, and this is Gor. You are the Woman behind the Man. You are a rather large part of his life; You are His Lover, His best friend, His heart. Yet, do not expect to hear this often, or ever, for although a Gorean Man knows easily how to express his anger and frustration, when it comes to feelings and matters of His heart, He can be a bumbling idiot and dense at times, and may simply avoid admitting of a soft heart. Therefore he is hard, cold and sometimes harsh, but that is the Man in him that She cannot resist.
- Angeline:
- Lady Rayn Do you willingly, Admit yourself into this companionship? {{ Rayn }}
- You may now remove your last veil as a single woman coming before your companion.
- Rayn: {{{ Rayn removes her last veil #4 upon the acknowledgment of these words. }}}
- Angeline:
- Ubar Berbus From this point on it is your choosing as to when and how you wish to remove your companions veils.

- Ka-la-na, the wine made of the fruit of trees by the same name and said to be the symbol of romantic love, is shared by the couple and indeed, the free companionship ritual is often referred to as 'the sharing of the wine of companionship'. In the few cases where the reader witnesses such rituals, the drinking of ka-la-na is always present.

- It is the words the we speak to one another that we hold dear. As you take your serve I would like for you both to speak your own Oath of Companionship. Ubar if you would please start and Rayn you follow.

- ~As the couple comes before her she picks up the mantle and the laurel wreath as she recites the blessing she wraps them in the mantle together and places the crowns upon them.~
- May The Priest Kings pour out the abundance of your blessings upon this man and this woman. Defend them from every enemy. Lead them into all peace. Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, a mantel about their shoulders, and a crown upon their foreheads. Bless them in their work and in their joys and in their sorrows.
