Stream Newsletter - 2016/05/30

Weekly Newsletter, but a bit late cuz some huge tax errands (writeoff expenses for 2014, 2015, *and* 1st quarter 2016) took fucking forever, so lost tons of time to get around to newsletter yesterday, apologies! ;;

NEWSLETTER:

▤▤▤  Why only 2 streams last week?!
One of my roommates moved out, decided to rent out the 2nd bedroom as a stream room (and have appropriate space for once). Chris gets my downstairs bedroom, I take the two upstairs. Took 2 days to move everything around, then another 2 setting everything up (I have a ton of stuff!) Finally, Venom, my girlfriend recently agreed to come move in with me in July after EVO! (yay!) So there was a spontaneous 2.5 day trip to finalize some logitiscs of the move. We got everything good now, and now I'm ready to work hard to entertain and meet those stream goals!

I want to emphasize this was an exception, it's my first time moving stream stuff in 3 years, please pardon last week! <3

July 23rd and beyond is when I can promise dedicated focus like there's been prior to March 2016 (around when things got *really* serious with Venom and I admittedly have been distracted trying to stream as much as I used to). I hope you stay with me as I know it seems I'm only gonna be at half capacity of what you loving subs/viewers expect, but end of July onward, the transitional period is over!

▤▤▤ What about your 2nd Mario Maker level you never finished?!
I'm still very intimidated and scared to make another bad level, but having observed some of DannyH and Mario_Lab's levels, I definitely  feel there's potential for me to make more levels. Engineering like loopable checkpoints will help me achieve harder levels without being obnoxious to all users. Not sure exactly when yet, maybe when I'm away traveling @ E3, Anime Expo, & EVO I can do the lab sessions for new level editing? :D

▤▤▤ Why aren't you playing the *original* Yoshi Island?
- Still burned out/bored of it, tbh. When I stopped being competitively active in May 2015, I was 2nd best and the WR was a 2:33:xx. Trix has since pushed it to a 2:30:xx and there isn't much new to learn/discover beyond grind to play more clean. Not a fault of the game, but with seeing a healthtier variety of games since SMM, it's less appealing to become so monotone with Yoshi. Even more when there's quality romhack levels I've wanted to route/play with the same delicious Yoshi Island physics engine! I explored and did about 7-8 weeks worth of work back in May 2014 and got a sub 4hr 100% time of 3:57:xx @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UU7hUBg_bk - but it's trash (for mondern standards) and can easily be sub 3:30:xx and even sub 3hr if I put the time in!

For sure before E3 - New Emotes (5-6 new ones coming - FIST 4-part; triW; [6th one])

▤▤▤ ✨NEWS✨ this week:
- Need GTX 1080; once acquired: Doom 2016 via KB/M casual afterparties begin; DarkSouls 3 finishes. If you know anyone with them in stock (prefer non-founders EVGA-brand) holla at me, I'll cop asap.
- MightyNo9 drops June 21; WeWantJSRFHD delayed/dropped out due to conflciting times
- Resuming Yoshi, while isn't vanilla, it's the acclaimed romhack Super Mario World 2+2. First time getting back seriously into it since May 2014.
- During Stepmania, I've retired 2player1controller input for the higher skill ceiling of 1player2input! Expect harder songs (old scale 11-12's!), and more difficult notes that exceed the average 450notes per 90sec you've seen the last 2 years!
- Streams for now will continue to be Stepmania + Mario Maker + Yoshi's Island until GTX 1080 is acquired!

▤▤▤ PSA: Stream routine will be erratic until July 22, but promise it gets way better!
-- Next 12 days I'm streaming until E3! Going to E3, June 12-June 17
-- Stream the next 11 days, until I attend Anime Expo, June 28-July 5
-- Stream the next 9 days, go hard with MightyNo9 lanch hype (if it's good) until I leave for EVO, July 13-18
-- Last major break from stream is me helping my girlfriend move from Ohio to Louisiana with me directly after EVO, July 18-22.

▤▤▤ Future plans for rest of 2016:

- Get a PS4
- Uncharted Collection + Uncharted 4
- Final Fantasy 15 launch hype
- Last Guardian launch hype(?), if releases 2016
- Rock Band co-op streams w/ Venom?
- #Creative streams go from casual affairs into a larger-picture progressive vibe w/ focus on getting better at drawing?
- Speedrun 2+2 for AGDQ 2017 or TBD if they allow romhacks/accept it? (I've gotten a lot of feedback from fans sad I'm not attending SGDQ 2016!)

But mostly..

VR GAMES! - I'll be super VR ready, and experienced 30min of demo time w/ Oculus @ Pax Prime last year, I'm a believer. PSVR drops, Vive & Oculus already out, should be some solid software by Q4 2016, and I wanna be part of the launch hype! Be ready!
