  1. Harry goes back in time.
  2.
  3. Harry, just having defeated Voldemort, finds every human he loves and cares for dead. From Teddy Lupin, all the Weasleys, the person/people he's dating (he can be straight, gay, bi, ace, whatever. If ace, he must not be aromantic), down to and including the Creeveys. Everybody is dead and gone because of death eaters, only strangers, and no human willing to help him. So he goes back to the past to fix everything. Cliche, I know, but there's more to it than that.
  4.
  5. When he gets there, he's found his beloved(s) there, too. Here's the twist: they ALSO came back in time to fix things that had gone wrong where they were.
  6.
  7. This past is actually a different dimension, and now they will make things better.
  8.
  9. Rules:
  10.
  11. 1. Everyone human Harry cares about is dead. Dobby can be alive, as can goblins, centaurs, unicorns, etc. The nonhumans can be part of how he travels to the past, or he figures it out on his own. I don't care how long it takes him to go back in time, or how it happens. (But an unmodified timeturner has me severely disappointed in you for ignoring how they make a stable timeloop. He's going to another dimension, remember.) The length of time taken to be able to time travel ties into rule four, so keep that in mind, since that is meant to age up Harry to better fit with an older partner.
  12.
  13. 2. Harry and the significant other/s must be back in their younger selves' bodies, and have to have done this by traveling on their own. As in, only that person from that dimension hopped to this one, not that they didn't have help. One significant other per dimension, and this includes twins. If you want both twins, they must each be from a different dimension. The significant other you choose does not have to have originally been together with Harry romantically.
  14.
  15. 3. Harry must be with someone who comes to the past. No adding another person originally from the current timeline/dimension.
  16.
  17. 4. No huge age difference in Harry and the significant other(s)'s ages. As in, if Harry is fifty when he manages to time travel, the significant other/s can't be seventeen and managing to go back in time to fix Harry dying to the basilisk. Or Harry is seventeen, and the significant other/s are thirty when they come back. They both can look like they are five for all I care, as long as they're the same mental age. I'm tired of old man Harry going back to set things right, only to make the much too young significant other fall for him then they do NOT get upset when he reveals he's much older than them. Note: If Harry is seventeen, and the significant other(s) are twelve, that is a bad age difference, and you are bad for trying it. If they are school age, keep them the same mental age within a year or two. In fact, the significant other(s) coming back should be at least seventeen mentally, anyway. Harry must be at least seventeen due to having defeated Voldemort. The age thing segues well into:
  18.
  19. 5. No sex, please. If it is thematically needed, please age the characters to legal (as in adult, not just age of consent) via potion, spell, and/or other; and place in a separate story that can be linked to from your challenge response.
  20.
  21. 6. Link me your story, I'd love to see it.
  22.
  23. Other/notes:
  24.
  25. 1. The new dimension is just that! New! Feel free to change things up from the ones they hopped from. You want good Snape? Potters alive and Harry has a twin sister who is the Girl-Who-Lived? The Dursleys are nice? Oops, Harry's luck went crazy and is now physically a girl (Please remember Harry is male before this happens)? Significant other now somehow has two bodies but only one soul/consciousness controlling them? This new dimension's Voldemort is really dead, and Harry and the significant other(s) get to learn properly in school, instead of the slapdash potions/DADA/divination/history/muggle studies/care of creatures/etc classes?
  26.
  27. Your story, your choice.
  28.
  29. 2. I'd like it to be a happy fic, or end happy, but that's purely optional. You aren't expected to do so if you don't want to.
  30.
  31. 3. You can give Harry as many people to love/marry/whatever as you want as long as you follow the rules. I'd prefer it not to be a harem fic, since that's usually a bunch of girls all focused on one guy. I like it best when everyone in the relationship loves each other, but if that's your jam, more power to you; I may or may not read much of it, but I'll still add it to the compilation.
  32.
  33. That's it, have fun. Link me your fic response. I don't care how long or short it is.
