  1. COMING OF AGE: TROLLS
  2. New Skill:
  3. • Metamorph (Spirit, Full Troll or Changeling Troll only). Success allows the troll to change which metamorph they are using, and gain one level of fatigue. Failure means simply fatigue, and success with a raise means they change metamorph with no fatigue. The metamorph stays until the troll wishes to remove it, at no cost, or until the troll is incapacitated in combat.
  4.
  5. New Edges:
  6. • Survival Specialization (Full Troll, Seasoned): +2 to Metamorph rolls when using the Survival Metamorph.
  7. • Combat Specialization (Full Troll, Seasoned): +2 to Metamorph rolls when using the Combat Metamorph.
  8. • Hunter Specialization (Full Troll, Seasoned): +2 to Metamorph rolls when using the Hunter Metamorph.
  9. • Additional Metamorph (Changeling Troll, Seasoned): Gains an extra type of metamorph to choose from, at -2 to Metamorph rolls when using the additional metamorph. Can be taken more than once, but only once per rank.
  10. • Metamorph Resistance (Full or Changeling Troll, Novice): May make a vigor roll after metamorphing, to resist the fatigue. If the roll is succeeded, no fatigue level is gained.
  11. • Metamorph Immunity (Full or Changeling Troll, Veteran, Metamorph Resistance): The troll no longer gains levels of fatigue through metamorphing.
  12.
  13. FULLBLOOD TROLLS:
  14. Trolls are scale-covered humanoids/lizardmen with muscled tails, incredible regeneration ability, and a broad power to shapeshift into multiple forms. However, they're few in number, have problems bearing children, and are hated by civilized society.
  15. • Outsider: Trolls aren't trusted by most other civilized races, so subtract 2 from their Charisma.
  16. • Regeneration: As long as the wound isn't made by Silver, Trolls have the near-unique ability to heal wounds. Every turn, a troll can make a Vigor roll to heal any damage it has sustained. A success heals one wound (or removes Incapacitated status,) and a raise heals an additional wound. Additionally, Add +2 to Spirit rolls made to recover from being shaken.
  17. • Slow: Trolls have a Pace of 5.
  18. • Wild Instincts: With powerful instincts, a fullblooded troll has a -4 to defending against Tests of Will and a -2 to Fear checks.
  19. • Savage: During character creation, Smarts costs 2 points per step to increase.
  20. • Metamorph: As long as the troll is conscious, a troll can use the Metamorph (Spirit) skill to gain additional powers and weaknesses, based on the 'List of Metamorphs'. If succeeding at the roll, the troll gains the metamorph until they next sleep, and gain one level of Fatigue. With a raise, no Fatigue is given. If the roll is a failure, the troll gains one level of Fatigue but does NOT change metamorphs.
  21.
  22. TROLL CHANGELING:
  23. Those of both human and troll descent are known as Changelings, or halfbloods, and have weakened versions of basic troll powers. While they are otherwise identical to a human when not metamorphed, They retain a tail, though instead of a powerful, muscled thing, it's simply a thin, ratlike tail.
  24. • Weakened Regeneration: As long as the wound isn't made by Silver, Troll Changelings have the near-unique ability to heal wounds. Every turn, a changeling can choose to make a Vigor-2 roll to heal any damage it has sustained. A success heals one wound, and causes the changeling to gain one level of fatigue. With a raise, no Fatigue is given.
  25. • Wild Instincts: Retaining the powerful instincts of their troll parent, a changeling has a -4 to defending against Tests of Will and a -2 to Fear checks.
  26. • Limited Metamorph: As long as the troll is conscious, a troll can use the Metamorph (Spirit) skill to gain additional powers and weaknesses. If succeeding at the roll, the troll gains the metamorph until they next sleep, and gain one level of Fatigue. With a raise, no Fatigue is given. If the roll is a failure, the troll gains one level of Fatigue but does NOT change metamorphs. Changelings can only choose one morph from the list to change into, except for Minor Forms.
  27.
  28. LIST OF METAMORPHS:
  29. Color Change Metamorph: The troll's scales turn to whatever color the troll can imagine. That's... it, really. Kind of useless.
  30. • Minor Form: Even changelings can use this morph if not trained in it, and fullblooded trolls cannot get fatigued from changing into it.
  31.
  32. Aquatic Metamorph: Growing gills, and fins on their tail, the Troll slims and their scales smooth themselves, becoming aquatic.
  33. • Minor Form: Even changelings can use this morph if not trained in it, and fullblooded trolls cannot get fatigued from changing into it.
  34. • Aquatic: They cannot drown in water, move at full Swimming skill, and get a free d6 Swimming.
  35.
  36. Combat Metamorph: Growing bulkier and more muscled, the Troll sprouts claws, and their tail bulks up, sprouting spikes.
  37. • Large: The Combat Morph is large and impossibly bulky: Gain +1 Size
  38. • Claws and Thagomizer: In addition to their size and strength, a Combat Morph has a powerfully spiked tail and serrated claws that do Str+d6 damage.
  39. • Sluggish: Reduce Pace to 3
  40. • Clumsy: -1 to Agility and agility-based skills.
  41.
  42. Hunter Metamorph: Going slimmer and dark-scaled, the Hunter metamorph grows thorny pads on their arms and legs, as their entire form changes to a quadrepedal one. Hooked claws sprout from their forelegs, and a long, slim spike sprouting from the tip of their tail.
  43. • Hooked Claws: The strange, hooked claws of a Hunter metamorph allows them to walk on vertical or inverted surfaces just as a human walks on the earth. They only need to make Climb checks in stressful situations, and even then, they do so at a +2. Additionally, their claws do Str+d4 damage.
  44. • Infravision: Can see into the infrared spectrum, allowing the Hunter Metamorph to see heat. Halve penalties (round down) for bad lighting when attacking living targets.
  45. • Fast: Increase Pace to 8
  46. • Small: The Hunter Morph is small and lithe: Reduce -1 Size.
  47. • Fragile: -1 to Vigor and Vigor-based skills.
  48.
  49. Survival Metamorph: The troll's scales burst outward, thickening and growing wider, becoming squatter and stouter than most, their scales now a veritable plate of armor.
  50. • Durable: The Survival metamorph is useful in both the coldest tundras and hottest deserts. +4 bonus to resist all negative environmental effects, hunger, and drowsiness.
  51. • Armor Scales: The Survival Metamorph has a thick coat of dragon-like scales, giving them +2 armor.
  52. • Encumbered: -1 to Strength and Strength-based skills.
  53. • Heavy: Reduce Pace to 4
