- History: Miguel did grow up in Phoenix, Arizona all his life. He had two parents who worked in the fire department and, as he watched many new stories of his parents saving lives, he wanted to do the same thing, as he knew that people should always be safe and sound. He liked to watch crime fighting shows and once he saw an officer fighting a criminal, he had a cheerful smile on his face and he also heard new stories about police officers saving other citizen's lives. He did have the confidence to be part of the authority one day, and he also got inspired by listening to his uncle's stories about him going through training in order to be an officer. He did pay close attention to the main parts which is dealing with tests and watching on what the officers do, especially when traveling with them, and he thought that they would be useful when going into training once he grows as an adult. At around his youth years, he took his dream job into action when playing with his school friends and sometimes his father and of course, Miguel always chose to play the officer while his friends played as the robbers. As he grew up in Middle School, he did have officers come to his school, and Miguel always asked, "What's it like to be an officer?" The police man answered, "Although it requires a lot of work and responsibility, my job is mainly keeping citizens safe." Once Miguel heard that, his inspiration of being an officer grew even higher. Everything was going fine in the family life, until his father got cancer in the brain. Miguel stood by his side and even helped him go back and forth to the doctor's when driving, at around sixteen years old. He did pray night and day constantly, hoping things would be better for his father. Fortunately, at around eighteen years old, his father survived the cancer, and around that time, Miguel had to move on with his dream after graduating high school. He did find a University in a state named Oregon, and did find an area in Criminal Justice and he immediately signed up. Although it was hard leaving his parents, especially after caring for his father, when going through his sickness, but his parents wanted his dream to come alive. So, he attended college and he took the classes he needed, such as Criminal Justice and he did take his college work seriously. He sometimes did attend parties and clubs, but mainly, Miguel did focus more on his work since that was his key to succeeding in order to make his dream become alive. After graduating from the college, he was looking for a place on where he could intern and that was at the Arcadia Police Department. He did call them up and asked if he could get an interview and luckily there was a position opened for an interview. So, one Saturday, when he was ready for the interview, he was a bit nervous since he was going to be interviewed by the lieutenant himself, but Miguel did feel ready. He got interviewed by the lieutenant and he did answer questions such as his small piece of his story and why he wanted to be in the police force. After explaining his main reasons to him, and after he told him that he volunteered at a hospital and took CPR classes, he hoped that the lieutenant would at least give him a try for a training job. After the interview, he went back to his apartment, feeling confident. He did come across a new story about a student disappearance at Blackwell Academy when reading the newspaper. He did feel bad for the poor girl, and one day, hope that Rachel would be able to get home safely. A couple of months later, Miguel got a call from the lieutenant and he was offered as an officer in training. Miguel not only felt excited, but also felt his dream becoming alive. So, he did meet up with other officers, including the lieutenant and right away, started the training. He started to travel with other officers and took classes on weapons and what to do and not what to do when being in certain situations. Although this was mainly him watching other officers do their job and taking classes, Miguel felt as though this was the first step in order to make his dream become alive, and that was becoming a permanent police officer.
