  1. About 2-3 years ago he had some pretty bad health issues such as difficulty breathing, chest pain, etc. while streaming (even had to go to the hospital) but he dealt with it by limiting his activities.
  2.
  3. Even though the symptoms were bad, his work as a streamer felt like a dream come true so he was scared for it to end. He didn't tell others or even management because he was afraid that it could possibly end by him confessing his health issues.
  4.
  5. Last autumn his symptoms got bad enough that he couldn't hide them anymore. Even if he wanted to keep going, the severity of the symptoms weighed him down too much both physically and mentally and he couldn't enjoy streaming anymore.
  6.
  7. Around June some personal circumstances made him finally break down and he went to the hospital. The physician suggested that he stop his activities.
  8.
  9. Though he knew that he was already at his limits, he wanted to finish Niji Koshien as the organizer and continue all his activities in full 'til August and spoke with management about this.
  10.
  11. Management understood and accepted his report, and cancelled all his appearances and such from August onwards.
  12.
  13. Everything within August even after Koshien is stuff that he personally wanted to keep doing, and will do his best to finish it all.
  14.
  15. Starting September, he wants to take a break without any specific end date.
  16.
  17. At one point he felt that maybe it was okay to graduate because he already had many dreams come true. But he'd already been doing this for 5 years so it was a complicated feeling for him.
  18.
  19. Maimoto's decision:
  20. He will be taking an indefinite hiatus.
  21.
  22. If asked if he wants to keep going, he of course still wants to continue his activities. But because of his health issues, he can't guarantee returning either. Hence he decided to take an indefinite break.
  23.
  24. Once his mental state, physical condition, and motivation have recovered, he will approach management and see if he can return to his own activities.
  25. His indefinite hiatus will start on September 1.
  26.
  27. As for people who are wondering when he will come back, or about what will happen to stuff like Niji Koshien and Niji Mahjong (since he is the one who started those tournaments), he honestly doesn't know. However he feels that either of can continue somehow even without him.
  28.
  29. He does want to return and would like a future where he can. He likes Nijisanji, has more things he wants to do, and more promises to fulfill.
  30.
  31. While he won't push himself to do that, that's what he wishes. He will at least continue to push himself for all of August, at least.
