Red Right Hand

For this scene, Cassiopeia Megami is playing a Brass Blade grunt named Vic, and Savin Kekaalah is playing a Brass Blade forensic mage named B'ourdain.

[20:02]Savin Kekaalah: The sun beat down on the hardpacked ground. All was silent in the compound, save for the buzzing of flies. In the darkness of one of the buildings, Kakase stared in horror at the dead bodies of the mages as they lay on the floor, faces contorted in whatever last agonies they felt. As she stood and watched, she heard a sound behind her.
[20:03]Zazanther Rerenther turns around at the sound of the door opening once again.
[20:03]Sigral Vast: "Well. This is... interesting."
[20:03]Sigral Vast scrutinizes Zazanther.
[20:04]Sigral Vast: "Ms. Megami. I belive we may have a suspect, seeing as how she's standing over, oh, a dozen or so dead mages."
[20:05]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain looked around, eyes widening behind his sunglasses.
[20:05]Cassiopeia Megami: "PEW-WEE. Gods, it smells like chocobo and dragon dung in here." she said, smacking her gum loudly in her mouth. She looked at the small lalafall, staring at her with one eyes, the other one just seemed to be missing entirely.
[20:05]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> look back at the bodies then the people at the door. This...won't be easy to explain...or wiggle her way out of.
[20:05]Cassiopeia Megami: "Why yes, I can see how you could to that clonclusion, lady. It's not that hard."

[20:06]Sigral Vast gives Zazanthen a hard stare, "So, spell gone wrong? Or did your colleagues make you just THAT angry?"
[20:06]Savin Kekaalah drew a stubby wand-like device from his belt and pointed it at one of the bodies.
[20:07]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> was glad for the dead mages...it was sadly not her hand...and due to being dead when she arrived...got no infomation from them and the bodies too far gone for other methods she knew of.
[20:07]Sigral Vast: "Forensics, B'ourdain? Sense any magics residue?"
[20:07]Savin Kekaalah: "All *over* the place, inspector", he said, whistling. "The place is *saturated* with aether."
[20:08]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "Well...to be perfectly honest, I'm just as suprised as you are. Just making a delivery to this address I was told to and came to the same suprise as you."
[20:08]Sigral Vast nods. "Check for aether booby-traps. Don't want an unpleasant shock."
[20:09]Sigral Vast glances at the lalafel, then looks around the room. "Uh - huh. A delivery."
[20:09]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain knelt by a body, waving the wand over it. "This wasn't a hedge-wizard", he said. "Someone *really* wanted them dead."
[20:09]Sigral Vast: "Something special?"
[20:09]Cassiopeia Megami: "Aye, pain don bother me. Infact, I welcome it." she said, popping the gum loudly befor she took out a pair of cuffs. "Shall I restrain her?"
[20:09]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> in her mind..."ya...me..." to herself.
[20:10]Savin Kekaalah: "I've never seen *anything* like this, boss", he said. "It's *unprecidented*..."
[20:10]Sigral Vast: "Well if that's the case, why don't you just show us what you're delivering?"
[20:11]Cassiopeia Megami shrugged, she was just a lowly minion after all. She decided to make use of her time by moving over to a body and poking it with her axe.
[20:11]Sigral Vast: "Vic, I think our courier may need searching."
[20:12]Sigral Vast: "Before we take her into custody, that is."
[20:12]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> hesitated for a meir moment before pulling out her dummy bag for just this occurance. The other bag was a bit off in the distance, within teleportation magic to her side for when the exchange would of happened.
[20:12]Sigral Vast hands over something to Zazanther Rerenther.
[20:13]Cassiopeia Megami: "Searching. Oh I get to invade someone's belongings! My *favorite*!" she exclaimed, hopping over to the lalafell and her boss. "What do you want me to look for?
[20:13]Zazanther Rerenther: *teleportation magic allowing for it to come to her side...
[20:13]Zazanther Rerenther: (I sometimes tyipe faster then I can think clearly lol)
[20:13]Sigral Vast: "I'd say anything of value or that seems odd."
[20:14]Sigral Vast: "So, what's your name?"
[20:14]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain continued to look around the room, at one point pulling out a strange monocle and fitting it over one eye.
[20:15]Cassiopeia Megami moved around behind the lalafall, her hand quickly patting her down for anything that might seem of interest, not really taking the care to be gentle or considerate. Then she took the bag, also looking through it with an intense eye.
[20:16]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "Names Kakase."
[20:16]Sigral Vast: "Kakase. Anything there, Vic?"
[20:18]Cassiopeia Megami after prodding through the bag, tossing out basic potions vials and various ingredients. "Iunno... These seems odd... Like dem magic ingredients, creepy magic guy in blue would know better." she muttered, looking at her boss with one eye.
[20:19]Sigral Vast shakes her head and snaps, "Just give it to B'ourdain, then."
[20:19]Savin Kekaalah: "Creepy magic guy has a name", B'ourdain said irritably, pulling the magitek monocle off of his face and approaching the trio.
[20:20]Cassiopeia Megami stuck her nose into the bag, taking a deep inhale before letting out a hacking cough. "Yep. Definitely nasty magic shite." she said with a pleasant grin as she passed it off to the man.
[20:21]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain took the bag and began to look through the contents. He finally sighed, and moved to dump it all out on a table.
[20:22]Sigral Vast: "Well?"
[20:23]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain shrugged. "I could have sworn I detected magic", he muttered. He carried the bag back, then frowned, looking at Kakase. "Well, *hello* there", he said, waving the wand over the Lalafel.
[20:23]Savin Kekaalah: "Nothing stands out in the *bag*, but something sure set this thing off on *her*..."
[20:26]Sigral Vast: "Oh, REALLY. A courier bringing not much of anything you can't find on sapphire avenue to a notorious band of thaumaturges that dabble in some pretty nasty stuff? You're no courier."
[20:26]Sigral Vast: "Unless you have something ELSE to show us?"
[20:26]Cassiopeia Megami popped her gum loudly before smiling widely at her boss. "And that is why you're the boss. You think about things like that."
[20:27]Sigral Vast: "Vic, take a head count of the bodies. I wanna know what kind of charges our "courier" might be expecting."
[20:29]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain looked at the wand, then Kakase, then the wand, and finally up at Sigral. "It's not the same magic that killed them", he shrugged.
[20:30]Cassiopeia Megami nodded before saluting. "'Aight lady. I'm sure I can count above ten... Pretty sure..." she mumbled, nodding as she began to wander around the room. She could count by tapping the butt of her axe with each body she could find.
[20:30]Sigral Vast closes her eyes for a count of five.
[20:32]Sigral Vast: "Body count, Vic?"
[20:32]Cassiopeia Megami: "Fifty... Shite, I lost count again. I'm gonna count again."
[20:33]Sigral Vast: "Fifty. Or more. That's pretty serious, Kakase."
[20:34]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase>'s eyes widen a tad...well...eye. Even she wasn't that talented enough for such a mass murder even if she had a week to do it. That and she disliked killing unless deemed nessessary anyway.
[20:34]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain follows his wand around the room, probing into bottles, over bodies, flipping open someone's sandwich...
[20:34]Cassiopeia Megami: "FIFTY-FIV_ NO WAIT." She paused, poking at a blackened rottening carcass. "FIFTY-SIX."
[20:34]Cassiopeia Megami: "Pretty sure that's a body..."
[20:34]Sigral Vast: "Oh- KAY, Vic. THANK you."
[20:34]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "And you think a simple merchant is capable of such a mass slaughter. Of mages no less, and from what you said not common street mages either."
[20:35]Cassiopeia Megami: "YOU'RE WELCOME" she said loudly from the other side of the room, smiling happily. She was such a good little helper.
[20:35]Sigral Vast drawls, "So now you're a simple merchant? I thought you were a courier. Which is it?"
[20:35]Cassiopeia Megami: "I care you to eat that sandwich."

[20:36]Savin Kekaalah: "Is this *marmite*?" B'ourdain prodded the sandwich again, then shuddered. "Why do people always use marmite? Gives me the creeps."
[20:36]Cassiopeia Megami: "Now I double dare you to eat it. I'll pay you if you win."
[20:36]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "I like to make deliveries myself. While I am a merchant, I can't afford too many couriers I take care of some of my own deliveries."

[20:37]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain looked up at Vic, then rose to his feet. "Don't you have some bodies to lose count of?"
[20:38]Cassiopeia Megami: "Nope! I counted them all! Fifty-six." she said proudly. "The boss even *thanked* me."
[20:38]Savin Kekaalah: "You want a treat? I think I have a treat in here. L'eo has a dog..."
[20:39]Sigral Vast: "If you're a simple merchant doing your own courier work, show me the invoice."
[20:40]Sigral Vast: "B'ourdain, I may have a slip of paper for you to run a back trace on in a minute."
[20:40]Cassiopeia Megami glared at him with her one eyeball. "Don't make me cut your precious hands off. I am a *miqo'te*. Not a dog." she muttered, holding her axe rather threatening but not too threateningly.
[20:41]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain rolled his eyes. The sunglasses made it less than obvious, but he did it just the same. He moved to stand next to Sigral, nodding, wand at the ready.
[20:41]Sigral Vast holds out her hand to Kakase, "the invoice, please?"
[20:41]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> pulls out the invoice of the bag she handed to them. She dare not keep an invoice of the other bag. That was all kept in her head...and book. The bussness would come up as legit but it was still just a paper busness by all accounts.
[20:42]Zazanther Rerenther hands over something to Sigral Vast.
[20:42]Cassiopeia Megami grumbled at him from behind, silently cursing on him to make the magic implode on him.  She went back to finding another body to poke at with her axe.
[20:44]Sigral Vast: "Now, here's what's going to happen - I'm going to hand this slip of paper to B'ourdain, and he's going to run a trace on the order to see who it came from. Maybe it came from these mages, in which case, you might get out of here without much fuss."
[20:45]Sigral Vast "On the other hand, if it's fake, I'm taking you in for obstruction at the least, but probably accessory since I'm in a mood, and murder if you really piss me off."
[20:45]Sigral Vast: "Or, you could just tell me the truth of what you know about what happened here and we can get to the bottom of it."
[20:45]Cassiopeia Megami: "You show her how it's done, Boss Lady!"
[20:46]Sigral Vast looks at the ceiling and counts to five.
[20:47]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> shrugs. "Truth be told, I'm just as curious as you are about this. No one wants to eliminate paying customers after all."
[20:48]Zazanther Rerenther: "Bad for future bussness."
[20:48]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain drew out a vial of something clear and what looked like the love child between a pair of binoculars and an absinthe spoon. He took the invoice, then poured a little of the vial into the spoon. It dripped onto the invoice, after which he started looking through the device at it. "Hmmmm..."
[20:48]Sigral Vast: "Our friend here is a pretty cool customer. Curiosity in the face of 56 rotting, bloated corpses, if Vic counted right."
[20:49]Sigral Vast mutters, "Which isn't a sure thing, of course."
[20:49]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "When the world is out to get you as a Lalafell you tend to deaden yourself to some of its horors."
[20:49]Cassiopeia Megami pouted. "As long THAT mass of blacky stuff is a body, it's FIFTY-SIX."
[20:49]Cassiopeia Megami: "I'm very sure of it."
[20:50]Sigral Vast bursts out laughing at Zazanther Rerenther.
[20:50]Savin Kekaalah: "Ohhhh, not a sure thing at *all*", B'ourdain muttered. "Which, ironically, is the same thing I can say about *this*. I think you'll need to give it to the bean counters to track down the buyer."
[20:50]Sigral Vast laughs bitterly, "You're in UL'DAH. Lalafels RUN this city. Who are you trying to kid?"
[20:52]Sigral Vast: "Alright, it's up to you, since we have to take it back to the lab for forensics. Do you want to tell me everything you know that happened here, or do you want to come back to the city in cuffs. Your decision."
[20:52]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "That may be but unlike most, I've been out in the world. You grasp a new look on life when you aret rying to escape being eaten by a Goobbue."
[20:52]Zazanther Rerenther: *are trying (I hate my keyboard sometimes)
[20:53]Cassiopeia Megami: "Did somone sayd *cuffs*?!? I got one here, ready to go!" she exclaimed, twirling the cuffs around her forefinger.
[20:53]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain rolled his eyes again. That made three times that night. Perhaps the reason he wore sunglasses was clear. "Sounds like an adventurer..."
[20:54]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "As I've said, I've on been inside for a few moments before you showed up, as I suspect you've been following close behind. Your showing up would suggest you've had your eye on this place or just got tipped off by someone. Meaning this is more like a set up for the both of us."
[20:56]Zazanther Rerenther looks at Savin. "Just a delivery to the outskirts of Coerthas, before the snows hit."
[20:57]Sigral Vast raises her eyebrows, "you think you were set up? By whom?"
[20:58]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "Probably whoever wanted these mages dead. Could be a rival group that placed the order and needed a fall guy to hide their trail."
[20:59]Sigral Vast: "A rival group, huh? Now maybe we're getting somewhere. Have anyone in mind?"
[21:01]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain listened, enjoying watching Sigral at work.
[21:01]Sigral Vast murmers quietly to Vic, "Go upstairs and see if there is a signaling apparatus. Try to be discreet."
[21:02]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> shakes her head. "It was just a guess. Could of been an inside job as well. Weeding out..that type of thing. I...tend to read too many crime novels lately."
[21:02]Cassiopeia Megami: "Dis... creet...?" she said questioningly, as tilted her head. But she'd quickly nod, headding up to the stairs as if she perfectly understood.
[21:05]Sigral Vast: "So, you're saying you arrived and found everyone dead? If so, did you see anyone else on your way here?"
[21:05]Cassiopeia Megami: "Zip. Nada. Nothing. No signalling or a flash bangy thing."
[21:05]Sigral Vast: "Thank you, Vic."
[21:06]Cassiopeia Megami smiled realllllly big. She got thanked TWO times tonight. It was a good day for her so far.
[21:07]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain rolled his eyes for the fourth time tonight and wondered how Vic could smell with her nose that far up the inspector's butt.
[21:08]Sigral Vast: "B'ourdain, what's time of death on these people?"
[21:08]Cassiopeia Megami thinks the inspector smells very nice, thank you very much!
[21:08]Savin Kekaalah: "Vic's black corpse aside, I'd say... oh... Within the last twenty four hours. A conjurer might be able to tell you more..."
[21:11]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> thinks for a moment. This area isn't widely travled so...did she see anyone? Granted had it been a mage and with Savin's answer being that long. "Well, as your assistant spoke, these are at least a day old. I didn't see anyone on the road leaving as this place is sparcely populated and visited. Thus the odds of me seeing anyone connected would be slim to none."
[21:14]Sigral Vast looks chipper, "Well, I'd say, Vic, cuff em. A sourceless - thus probably forged - invoice, a courier, wait, no - a merchant, and oh, 55 or 56 dead bodies looks like a reasonable cause to haul you in to me. Since you don't like answering my questions, you can just come back with us and I'll have my thaumaturge team work on that neat little mystery spell you have there."
[21:15]Savin Kekaalah: "And I thought the next few days were going to be *boring*", B'ourdain smirked.
[21:16]Cassiopeia Megami seemed animated after seeming to be clocked out for most of the talk. Words weren't her thing after all. Actions were though. She Moved behind the lala, twirling the handcuffs as she began to pull the lalafel's arms back, snapping them on.
[21:16]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> protested a bit. "I did so answer your questions. Just because I didn't give you any clues based off my lack of knowledge of the situation doen't mean I'm lying to you."
[21:18]Sigral Vast: "There is no way under thal's mighty balls that this group hired a "simple" merchant to bring them that trash." She gestures to the bag of common magic items.
[21:18]Sigral Vast: "Therefore, you are lying to me, and lying gets you arrested."
[21:21]Zazanther Rerenther: <Kakase> "Trash? Well, maybe the mana potions but most of those alc ingredients arn't as easy to come by. Nothing illegal I will add but most arn't found within Ul'dah, or Thanalan."
[21:22]Sigral Vast: "You know more about this than you're saying. If you want to tell me what you know, and I mean everything, maybe we can make a deal. If not, Ul'dah's dungeons are time-tested and welcoming to those with reluctant tongues."
[21:22]Zazanther Rerenther: "Simple is also probably best. I'm probably not the only person to have delivered to these...once living...mages."
[21:23]Cassiopeia Megami grinned toothily, reaching down to pick up the little one to throw over her shoulder, much easier to carry than to escort someone afterall.
[21:24]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> didn't like the idea of the dungeons...but spilling out her guys with this many ears wasn't in her best intrest either. "Dungeons before or after questioning?"
[21:24]Savin Kekaalah: B'ourdain chuckled. He could see the benefit to bringing Vic along, after all. The little Miqo'te sure enjoyed her work. He moved around the room again, wand out, examining everything.
[21:25]Sigral Vast: "Intake paperwork can take a while. If you feel like having a conversation, just tell Vic here and I'll have her bring you up to my office."
[21:27]Cassiopeia Megami: "Can't say I'd be much of a company, but I can promise you Lady Boss here is much better company for when you wish to spill the beans."
[21:27]Sigral Vast nods to Vic, "Let's get back to headquarters. I have a lot of paperwork to do."
[21:27]Cassiopeia Megami: "Aye, aye, Boss Lady!"
[21:28]Zazanther Rerenther: "Well, I may not have much but an office is better than here. I"m not sure about you but the smell is starting to be a bit much."
[21:28]Sigral Vast wrinkles her nose, "Oh, yeah. They ARE starting to smell a bit. Let's get a crew out here right away."
[21:29]Cassiopeia Megami: "The smell dun bother me. You get used to it after being in wars." she mumbled, shrugging with the cuffed lalafell on her shoulder.
[21:29]Zazanther Rerenther <Kakase> laughed inside by the word "much". She only used it do the the underlings. While she didn't trust this boss lady either, at least one set of ears is better then many, though she rather not have to say a word at all.
