This seller is not authorized to be an oem dealer by seagate. This means rack-it solutions is buying drives AS an oem. Which means they're selling them as components to people like me. Which means the warranty does not transfer. I want to be the OEM. Amazon.com is an authorized reseller. These others apparently not. Tech manufacturers are cracking down. They no longer let amazon marketplace sellers capitalize on amazon's good name. If you want a warranty you need to buy your tech from amazon.com not the marketplace. This is not a problem specific to rack-it solutions, it's a marketplace wide problem with unauthorized resellers. These issues are never included in the description and it's a flaw with the way amazon handles marketplace sellers. Amazon wants 3rd party marketplace sellers to be able to mooch off of their good name, but amazon's sales partners have decided that this party is over.
