I'm invisible to you.
Not really, but close enough.
I watch you, slowly move around your social circles...
But you never.. notice me. It's a lonely existence, but the shine of your light..
Sustains me.
But I crave more. I wish you saw what you meant to me. A word. An action. Each would be precious to me.
But, no. I'm Invisible. That girl on the edge of your vision that you never quite have in focus. The one that in the movie of your life, is an extra.
Without lines.
But I crave.. more. Much more. I watch as you laugh...
I NEED...
Your almost blinding white smile, the deep tenor of your laugh, that slight mischievous glint in your eyes...
I probably have seen more of you than most *because* of my... condition.
I saw your breakup with your Ex, and the despair you felt.
I saw the joy of getting that new job, so radiantly happy...
I saw the pain you felt, when your father passed away. So sad, but.. inevitable, in a way. I know you miss him, but you were relieved, too.
His pain was gone.
Mine.. stays.
I wish I could get the courage to approach you, to TALK to you.
Maybe more.
A dinner, your infectious laughter at something witty I say over coffee.
Walking you back to your apartment. And maybe you inviting me inside. For... *cough* coffee.
I chuckle, but go inside with you, normally invisible, but this time confident. But caring.
Inside, we kiss.. gentle at first, but then more. My body presses to yours unwillingly, unable to believe it's happening.
No.. Knowing it's happening. Caring, and you running hands over *me*.
We fall into each other, your mouth on mine, sinking into me, relaxing, safe... me wrapping my arms around your broad shoulders
You push me down on the couch, your weight carefully pinning me to the couch as I feel you lay on top of me.
I feel one of your hands lace through my hair, your fingers gripping my strands as you crush my mouth to yours.
I moan at the touch, the caress, what I have craved for so long.
My legs start to tremble under your gentle touch, and they tremble more when I feel your hands start to ghost up my inner thighs.
You reach down to unbutton my jeans, sliding them down almost agonizingly slow… Letting me savor every little sensation.
Like electricity going across every inch of my body,making me so sensitive… So receptive… So… WANTING.
I need this, to be loved, wanted, needed....
Seen.
But all this is just a pipe dream, isn't it?
People like me.. aren't seen.
"Let me guess...  grande latte, double espresso, no foam, with a shot of raspberry... am I right?" (gentle tone)
"Well, it's hard to forget you... your order, I mean." (shy chuckle)
I'm invisible. Unnoticed.
"Oh! Sure, I'll bring your coffee to you when it's ready."
(turning back to speak to a coworker)
"Amy, can you watch the register for me, just for a bit? Thanks!"
(sounds of humming over an espresso machine brewing)

"There you go! You.. want me to sit down with you? Ok..."
"You.. never thought I'd remember you?? Of course I would! You.. brighten up my day..."
"Oh, Um.. my Brother, he's doing better. Thanks for asking. I keep helping with his physical therapy. He is expected to recover in a few months."
"You remember that? Well, yes, the High School Chess Club is doing well. I just like helping out, mentoring.. being involved. I'm really surprised you remembered that. I really.. didn't expect you to... remember that."
"You.. feel... *invisible* most of the time. Heh, a lot of that going around. But.. I see you every day. You aren't invisible to me. Would.. you like to go out sometime?"

Invisibility. A state of mind. Someone you never expect? Notices you.
