Just Matsuri

“There’s no comparison. A man’s touch is just different from a woman’s touch.” Sometimes you wonder what the odds were that you’d ever say things like that before meeting your friend.

“So you ARE saying my technique is bad” Matsuri shoots back at you with some anger in her voice.

“No. I’m sure your technique is amazing as always. I’m saying it’s about intent. For them, it’s like you saying hello. It would feel different if a guy does it unless the girl receiving it is into other girls.” you calmly reply back at her.

To describe your friendship with Matsuri would be difficult. It started off with a misunderstanding that either she still thinks is wrong or at this point doesn’t care. You were cleaning up some art promotional material when you noticed some defects on Noel. Specifically on her boobs. You zoomed in, cleared the markings, and zoomed out a bit to make sure that there were no other defects. Matsuri apparently passed by the office room, glanced over, and saw you staring at Noel’s chest. You felt a hand come down on your shoulder, spun around, and saw her patented pervert face. Matsuri teased you and was happy that there was another connoisseur in the building while you tried to clear up the misunderstanding. You failed and Matsuri has been your “pervert buddy” ever since.

Honestly, it’s not that bad. Matsuri is a very outgoing and honest person who is near immune to embarrassment on certain things so most people know what they are getting when interacting with her. You’ve been told you have a “Go with the flow” attitude and speak with more honesty than you probably should. So when the next day, Matsuri comes into your office and starts talking about which idol has the best breasts, you answer honestly and start a debate with her. Like two philosophical gods, you debate the pros and cons. Luckily, your coworkers are usually heading out whenever Matsuri comes over.

You’ve both been on this topic for around 20 minutes now and everyone else has left the office at this point. Matsuri came over in a huff and started going off. One of the girls said, “Oh. It’s just Matsuri” after she came up and gave her typical physical contact. Matsuri, the self-proclaimed professional she is, took exception to that, fled to your work area when she could, slammed her hands on your desk while shouting “What does she mean “Just” Matsuri!? This technique has been perfected after years!” and she’s been going off even since. You’ve slowly but surely been calming her down.

Matsuri takes a deep breath and sighs. “I don’t get it. Is there really that much of a difference between the two? Love is love.” Seems like you’ve finally calmed her down after saying it’s not her technique.

“It’s like a family member versus a romantic partner. You love both but they are different, you know? Your love gets across to the other girls the same as a sister's love. A simple touch from a friend is completely different from a romantic interest.”

“Mmm I guess you could be right but I wouldn’t know. I’ve never felt any other kind of love before.” She sits on your desk and adapts a thinking pose. Thinking about what, you are unsure of but it looks like a heavy debate going on in her head. As you watch her think, you can’t help but be reminded that she’s never dated before. She’s just too eccentric for pretty much everyone that no one ever even tries most likely. No one sees her as the sweet girl who loves her friends dearly that she truly is. You’ve honestly been thinking about asking her out but she made a comment in one of her streams that there’s a no inter-dating allowed policy within Hololive. That’s not true so that’s probably her personal policy. Such a shame since you get along so well. You’re interrupted from your thoughts as Matsuri jumps off your desk and walks up to you.

“We need to test it.” She’s looking you dead in the eyes

“Test wha-”

You couldn’t finish your sentence as two things happened in rapid order. First, Matsuri grabbed the back of your hand and slammed it into her chest. As in her breast. Her left one specifically. She lets out a soft moan and she closes her eyes. Your brain immediately freezes the second you touch her. The second thing that happens just a few milliseconds after that is her moving your hand in small circles and forwards and back to simulate her technique. All brain processing has paused at this and you can only stare at her. It started off slow but, as if in a trance, Matsuri’s breathing starts to get heavier and she uses your hand more aggressively for several more seconds. She moans a bit louder and that seems to break her a bit out of her trance. Her eyes slowly open and she just looks down at your hand. A few seconds pass before your brain catches up to what just happened and you slowly pull your hand away. Matsuri stares at your hand as you pull it away for a few more seconds before snapping out of it and becomes a stuttering mess. She sputters for a little while longer before falling silent and finds interest in staring at the floor

Naturally, you’re not much in better condition. You barely move for the next few minutes. You can only slowly process what exactly happened. You try to run it back in your head but all you can think of is Matsuri’s chest and soft moans. You’re not sure how much time you sat there.

“U-umm” you softly hear. You look over and see Matsuri still standing there and staring at the floor. She’s still blushing heavily. If you were to look at yourself in the mirror, you’re pretty sure you’re matching her. “Okay. T-that felt...different.” That’s all she says before going quiet again.

“Well,” you say with a somewhat nervous laugh, “At least you have your answer now.”  You’re starting to get your composure back a bit though you know this will be something that will be on your mind for a long time. You can swear you can still feel her small breast and hear that moan.

“It’s a thousand times better when it’s someone you-” She starts to say before she makes eye contact with you and immediately goes back to staring at the ground. There’s an implication there that makes your heart start pounding in your chest again. Could she?

“Hey. So umm…” You muster up your courage and decide to take your shot. “Do you...want to go get dinner sometime?”

“A-are you asking me out? On a date? After that?” She looks up at you somewhat shocked.

Her reaction makes you feel a bit less confident about seeing the opening you thought was there but you decided to soldier on. “Uh yeah. I have been...wanting to ask you out. For a while now. Timing is horrible but ah..., ya know?” Mr. Suave you ain’t as you finish lamely. Matsuri looks back down to the floor and is silent. Silent for a lot longer than you were hoping. Just as you were preparing your heart for the pain, you hear some sniffling coming from her. Looks like it was a catastrophic failure. She’s even crying a bit.

“Even…even though I’m weird?” You hear her between her sniffling. “Even though I don’t understand things? Even though I get too close and touchy? Even though I’m disgusting?” Even though I’m Matsuri? You-you still want to go out with me?” You don’t know where this is coming from. You always assumed that she didn’t care what others thought about her but it seems she took everything to heart. You quickly get up off your seat and hug her gently.

“Why?” She’s trembling and crying more as you hold her. “There’s so many better girls. They’re all better than me. More beautiful. More sexy. Why? Why me?”

“Because they aren’t Matsuri.” The answer is simple but you hope it gets your feelings across. You feel Matsuri hug you back and cry a bit harder so you assume it has. You both remain like this for a few minutes before Matsuri calms herself and you remain hugging for a bit longer before you both break the hug.

“I’m going to freshen up and go home. We can talk about our date tomorrow.” As she says that, you look down at your slightly wet shirt and agree. Matsuri takes off around the corner and you turn back to your desk to start closing out of everything. No way you’d be able to get anything done with what happened tonight. Your heart still is all jittery and you know you have a stupid, happy smile on your face. Just as you are saving and closing some promotional material, you feel someone jump on your back and a wet kiss is placed on your cheek. Matsuri jumps off your back and retreats one last time but not before you see her blushing once more. As you stand there, you can’t help but feel like the luckiest guy in the world.
