  1. [04:23] Finally, Shezmu was capable of catching a break from the busy day that filled Deseti. There was only one thing on his mind at this point.. That's right, the book..
  2.
  3. Waterscribing.
  4.
  5. As he somewhat rushed towards House Fluvial, thoughts of the book's exact location remained on the La'Heba's mind on the way. Eventually, he arrived to the houses' steel doors, pushing his hand against it to enter.
  6.
  7. The La'Heba's eyes scanned the room as he immediately made his way towards the bookcase from before.
  8.
  9. "Second Row.. Fourth Book."
  10.
  11. His hands trailed against all of the other books while counting within his head to ultimately find the gold-rimmed cover that he had discovered before.
  12.
  13. A smile appeared on his face as he removed it from its section and walked towards the nearby bench to dive in!
  14.
  15. It was the perfect time to learn after all, there were no interruptions, complete quietness.. The perfect environment to gain knowledge!
  16.
  17. "Let's see.."
  18. (Shezmu La'Heba)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [04:53] The last time Shezmu dwelled into this book, he was only able to skim the introduction page but now.
  22.
  23. This time was different.
  24.
  25. He flipped a page then followed up to flip another.. As his eyes traveled and danced across the words on the sheet, they slightly widened at slight surprise.
  26.
  27. It read: Chapter 1. The Basics of Waterscribing.
  28.
  29. The use of Waterscribing are only for the artisans, the masters of Water magic.. If attempted before such an experience, it can result in dangerous or possibly self injury.
  30.
  31. Waterscribing has many purposes with its main one being to boost the effectiveness of a Water magi through the use of forming runes and speaking incantations to strengthen them. This can turn the effectiveness of basic spells to intermediate and the intermediate to Masterful and so on.
  32.
  33. Shezmu continued to read on.. Was this the missing part he was desperately searching for? The key to improving?
  34.
  35. His hand slowly caressed the book as he flipped to the next page.
  36. (Shezmu La'Heba)
  37. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38.
  39. [05:09] The contents of the next page read:
  40.
  41. Chapter 2. Forming a Proper Rune.
  42.
  43. Waterscribing may sound simple but it is difficult for even the most knowledable water magi. It requires not only patience and gracefulness, but also knowledge and formality.
  44.
  45. To place it in simple terms, think of your index finger as a paintbrush and the air as your canvas. Utilize your own water as the paint and begin your work by inscribing such runes.
  46.
  47. There were more written on the page but the La'Heba already grew an understanding of what it was attempting to convey. To prove such, he decided to demonstrate what was taught himself before moving ahead.
  48.
  49. Shezmu rose his hand into the air and fully extended his index finger out. His eyes closed for concentration sake before his finger slowly started to wiggle and rotate. Mana was being compressed and released until..
  50.
  51. A small, blue light surrounded the tips of his index finger. It moved similar to how liquid would flow, even dripping actually water towards the floor at times.
  52.
  53. The Sarradian opened his eyes to take note of such a sight.
  54.
  55.
  56.
  57. He further attempted to test things out and practice, attempting to sketch a basic shape into the air.
  58.
  59. A circle.
  60.
  61. As his index finger circled the air, a liquid path was left floating into the air before-
  62.
  63. The circle was complete.
  64.
  65. Shezmu nodded his head one more.. and seconds later, the circle evaporated away. A time limit it had it seemed.
  66.
  67. His eyes fell back onto the book, turning to the next page.
  68. (Shezmu La'Heba)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [05:20] Chapter 3. Runes
  72.
  73. The La'Heba eyes scanned through the entire page that was filled with runes.. Ones that sure, he could remember but there was just.. so much.
  74.
  75. Which one was the ones he needed? Was it all?
  76.
  77. If that's what it took.. He would definitely train himself to memorize such. A better idea came to him before remaining on the page.
  78.
  79. "Forgive me, House Fluvial."
  80.
  81. His hand gripped the edge of the page as he slowly tore downwards, removing the page clean from the book. Just after he did so, the next page read:
  82.
  83. Chapter 4. Runes (Part 2).
  84.
  85. A sigh left the La'Heba as that page was removed along with the followings which contributed towards runes and their meanings.
  86. (Shezmu La'Heba)
  87. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  88.
  89. [05:27] Suddenly, the La'Heba ran into a page filled with.. chants..? His finger trailed along the words until something similar to an explanation came about.
  90.
  91. Runes are one way to empower a Water Magi's capabilities but for those more advanced, there is another step that boosts this even further.
  92.
  93. Incantations.
  94.
  95. For example, for a basic spell.. A chant would be heard as: 'O’ Serene Water Goddess, Pay heed and pierce with your surging streams!' If the runes are written appropriately and followed with the appropriate chant then its effectiveness can possibly be increased tenfold.
  96.
  97. Shezmu scratched at his chin, obviously in doubt of the book's words.. Was this actually true? Could these runes and incantations truly be THIS powerful.
  98.
  99. The words slowly left his mouth.
  100.
  101. "O’ Serene Water Goddess, Pay heed and pierce with your surging streams..."
  102.
  103. Oddly, the words already felt familiar to the La'Heba making it easier to remember.. so he continued on to the next page.
  104. (Shezmu La'Heba)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [05:36] Shezmu kept flipping and flipping even more pages.. As if he was searching for something to catch his eye. He almost went through the entire book, reaching the near end until..
  108.
  109. Something caught his eye. There was a page that was halfway ripped.. Only the top half of the page remained and it read:
  110.
  111. Chapter 23. Star Ocean.
  112.
  113. [A series of a dozen runes were listen in a line across the page]
  114.
  115. His eyes carefully examined the runes.. Perhaps this was the order it must be done. Soon enough, his eyes picked up on something else interesting further down.
  116.
  117. It was another incantation.. but this one seemed longer than the short one from before.
  118.
  119. 'What started as water.
  120. Shall return to water.
  121. Water is the beginning and it shall be the end.
  122. The one that holds us, and devours us.
  123. I will beco-'
  124.
  125. Due to it being ripped, the incantation stopped there.
  126.
  127. His brow raised, obviously confused about such.. but perhaps this was something valuable.. A sign maybe?
  128.
  129. Shezmu continued to rip the entire sheet from the book, keeping this portion with him.
  130.
  131. It was all valuable information after all.
  132.
  133. Afterwards, the book would be returned to the bookcase, in the same spot in which he removed it from.
  134.
  135. The pages he ripped out was going to stay with him though.. With all the time he had on guard duty and sitting around, it would make great time to meomorize the runes and incantations on the paper.
  136.
  137. Things were looking up.
  138.
  139. (Shezmu La'Heba)
