Jacobs essay on forgiveness

Forgiveness is something people want but don’t want to give. Forgiveness is something people want but don’t want to give. It has so many different definitions depending on who you ask. I’ll use the novel 12 angry men for context and examples of forgiveness through my essay.
People forgive other because of many different reasons. Maybe they have gotten over a conflict they have had with someone and are ready to forgive them. They could also just want to let go of the grievance with someone and want to move on. This is shown in 12 angry men when the jurors were arguing about the guiltiness of innocence of the boy on trial. The argument was about whether to forgive the boy because he is innocent or to take vengeance on him because he’s guilty.
