- Kai: howdy
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): yes, hello, I heard you are making a WW2 server?
- Kai: yessir / ma'am
- Kai: that is correct-o
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): it'd be sir, and if it's a woman it's still sir, that's unrelated however. Would you care to elaborate on the setting?
- Kai: it's set on June 1, 1940, just as the British Expeditionaries are 'bout to be pushed out of Dunkirk
- Kai: It'll be a Military RP server based on the CW schema
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): ah, do you have applications and stuff for Wehrmacht, or is that just open?
- Kai: The two standard factions for players to pick from are British Armed Forces and the German Wehrmacht, each with respective sub-branches (with SF, Motorized, air force - these will open up when we have enough players of course though). Other factiosn mainly include Citizens / Militia, which will be factions that are only accessible through strict whitelist applications
- Kai is now Away.
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): alright
- Kai is now Online.
- Kai: Anything else you'd like to know?
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): yes, what kind of characters are you restricted to in the Wehrmacht? Must you meet historical requirements?
- Kai: We don't have very many limitations, it's mainly nationalities that we look out for. For example, obviously if you're in the Wehrmacht, you need to play as either a German, Austrian, Italian, or someone from a German occupied area. (Japanese, Romanian, and Norwegian characters can be appliked for as transfers from Expeditionary forces). Other then that, the only limitation we have set in stone is that your character is above 18 years of age. If applied for however, you can play as a character younger then that, but you'll be stuck for strictly on-base duties, such as cooking, cleaning, radio operating, or cleaning and general maitenence of vehicles / aircraft.
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): it's safe to assume then that women won't be having combat roles?
- Kai: Woman will have combat roles, we've tried this in the past and people brought up good points that we might as well just add them in. Even though it's nor histroically accurate, it just adds more character variety.
- Kai: *not
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): adds more character stupidity, more like.
- Kai: Well, you can feel that way if you'd like
- Kai: We've had negative reacions to not having it before, besides, it doesn't really matter, it's a character
- Kai: 9/10 you'll be more concerend with keeping your head down rather then checking what's below the belt
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): that's a pretty lazy answer, recruiters don't have bullets flying over their heads. I'll be opting out if the feminist approach sticks.
- Kai: Alrighty
- Kai: It's not a lazy answer, but if it really turns you off that much, no one is forcing you to come on
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): women with guns turn me on, but saying they were in combat roles is idiotic.
- Kai: I'm not here to argue about it, I've made my statement on why we're doing it
- Kai: If you don't like, then you don't gotta come on. Otherwise we'd be happy to see you on
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): for future reference, historical requirements include being male
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): in case someone else asks what I asked
- Kai: Thanks
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): if you ever planned on implementing women in a way that wasn't stupid, they were allowed non-combatant auxillary roles and at most were allowed to man flak guns.
- Kai: I'll definetly place it on the idea bin, cause I'm not trying to shut you out completley. I totally get what you're saying. However, like I said, not arguing about it; we're basing what we have now off of what worked in the past.
- Kai is now playing Garry's Mod. Click here to join.
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): if you get it's stupid I don't know why you proceed.
- Kai: I don't think it's stupid
- Kai: I think it really doesn't matter
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): why isn't it? you plan on being historical, why not go all the way?
- Kai: Because it limits what we can do
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): you mean to tell me that letting women be in combat roles restricts RP? It actually enriches it, because they can focus more on passive things or be ICly angry that they cant be in combat roles.
- Kai: i understand that you have valid points. But I really don't want to argue about this, it's such a small and tiny detail. Like I said, I aint arguing about this. What we have now is what we're doing
- Kai: We're a community focused server, if enough people are up-in-arms about it, we'll take it away. Just like hwo we added it when we did it the first time.
- Kai: *how
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): why don't you want to argue about it? I'd love to hear your argument
- Kai: I've already made my argument
- Kai: But I'm not gonna sit here and type out a hundred reasons why we should restrict what sex a player has
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): you can play as a woman, just not in a combat role, it's not restricting what sex they are.
- Kai: If you really must carry on with this argument... The entirety of the server is 90% combat based. This isn't 1940 DarkRP where you run around and vote for the Fuhrer and perform bank heists. Stopping people from playing woman characters literally kills the main attraction on the server for them.
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): women can totally be around the base or in the field as nurses if there are injured, so while in non-combative roles, they can still have a presence
- Kai: You're not really hearing me out. Most poeple will be out on the field most of the day, and be in combat. You're kinda disreguarding my point when you simply say "they can nurse and perform on-base duties", because 90% of the time there wont be anyone on the base.
- Kai: Tehy're being restricted from Roleplay (at least with most of hte players) because they wont be anywhere near them.
- Kai: *They're
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): There commonly were not all day battles in 1940, for one, for two, why is it such a big deal to play only a male character? Men and women are "equal", so you shouldn't favor playing one over the other.
- Kai: It doesn't have to be a big thing, that's why. You can say "why is it such a big deal to play only a male character?" and then my response will be "why is it such a big deal to have both?"
- Kai: So it's a standstill arguemtn that I'm not gonna continue
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): cause it's not accurate? The difference is I have a point to back up my argument, you don't.
- Kai: Yo
- Kai: I dunno if you skipped over half hte stuff I read or what
- Kai: But I made all my points, sold points
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): "my point is that restricting gender restricts roleplay" no it doesnt
- Kai: So if you are gonna stay away from the entire server because of it, then go ahead.
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): how does it? how are people limited by only playing males?
- Kai: Because not all people want to play just males
- Kai: So stop
- Kai: And let it go
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): Who the hell wants to play a female combatant in WW2?
- Kai: It's Clockwork we're talking about.
- Kai: A lot of people do
- Kai: Maybe not you, but others do
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): I have no issue playing a female character but that'd opt me not to be female even with the choice
- Kai: Keyword "I"
- Kai: You don't speak for everyone, you speak for yourself
- Kai: So stop, not gonna ask again
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): So you're telling me that you are letting people play females so that they can still ERP?
- Kai: And this is when you pull out that argument, alright
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): it's true, what other RP is it limiting?
- Kai: Well, either I'll see you or I wont. You aren't going to listen to me, so there's no point in wasting on my time on this. Have a good one!
- Slim Shady (The Ǝmcyclopedia): I'm listening, you aren't countering my point.
- Kai is now Offline.
