  3. Has 7 small stories with a different main character for each of them.
  4. Has a fast and easy travel system.
  5. NPCs are usually very helpful but sometimes they will be resistent to helping due to them not being interested in the main character.
  6. Has many side quests to participate in which aids in exploring the various regions.
  7. Three main characters may be renamed.
  8. Menus may be colored and transparency level edited, this can help differentiate the current small story.
  9. Playable characters come in 4 different combat types: Humans, Mechs, Mystics, and Shapeshifters(Monsters). The 4 combat types give players a variety of experiences and helps to keep the combat from becoming dull. I really, really like this distinction between different kinds of fighters and I wish there would be another RPG like this but there hasn't been one yet.

  11. Various things limit what the player can do with the characters. The main characters often break the rules. Magic for example has opposing powers to deny characters from getting the talent for each, but one main character can obtain 3 different sets of opposing power talents. Mechs are restricted by their body type but the mech main character can have his body type changed repeatedly. Mystics can't learn abilities during battle except through absorption and yet the main character mystic is a half-mystic and is also half-human which allows her to learn abilities by absorption and the human ways. Shapeshifters get stronger through repeatedly absorbing other monsters. Their equipment is significantly more limited than other characters' equipment, but the main Shapeshifter's quest grants access to a variety of useful monster equipment which can also be equipped on any other combat type.

  13. Has some 'neutral-hostile' enemies that are much stronger than any of the antagonists. This results in extended play time beyond just the story itself, and gives more meaning to the great variety in the combat system. There are also rare characters that can be obtained which helps to fill up the 3 combat parties.

  15. The story progression might feel a little rushed sometimes, but it's nice because the player has more time to focus on the combat and exploration. The side questing revolves around granting characters new powers and exploration, including but not limited to finding treasure and finding hidden bosses to fight.

  17. There are many shops to buy equipment and items from and it can take a while to remember which merchants are where and what they sell. Some merchants might even be quite hidden which can add some reward to exploring. The mini-games are simple and usually over quickly. The hardest mini-game might be having the characters battle while drunk.

  19. One great thing about this game is that the characters can be given chances to rest even while not visiting an inn due to rotating combat parties. You can have up to 3 of them, each with up to 5 combat characters. The maximum number of characters controlled is therefore 15. The monsters level up with the characters as well and the way the leveling up system works is quite interesting and helps to keep the combat from getting dull.

  21. I'm also a big fan of how they allow players to quickly get into the kinds of battles they want to and also avoid battles they don't want to be involved in by dodging enemy sprites. The music is great and many of the types of attacks a character can use look fantastic! There are also combination attacks where the characters group up their attacks in order to gain greater damage numbers and it looks really awesome in the process.

  23. Would love to see a remake of this game and they could add the 8th small story that was planned if they do that. Would be amazing.
