- = Catching Mechanics =
- ======================
- - In the Pokemon 150 Red/Blue Co-op Glitchless run, conserving money is key, so getting the best bang for your poke dollars is crucial to getting a good time
- - Because of guaranteed capture at 50% health for high catch rate pokemon, the great ball is used on most of the pokemon in the run. For some reason in gen 1, a poke ball and ultra ball do not have this same ability, both having around a 75% catch rate at 50% for high catch rate pokemon instead (this is a broad generalization, but is true a good majority of the time)
- - Ultra ball has the best catch rate for lower catch rate pokemon, but it's not that much better than a great ball, and it costs twice as much. There aren't too many low catch rate pokemon anyway, so don't bother with them.
- - Poke balls will be used up until you can buy great balls, but you won't need to catch many pokemon with them. With the pokemon you do need to catch with them (all high catch rate pokemon), they are about 90% effective at 33% health.

- = Ball Shakes =
- ===============
- - In gen 1 only, the amount of time the ball shakes tells you the approximate catch % the pokemon you are trying to catch is currently at:
- 0 shakes: "The ball missed the pokemon!" - Less than 10% catch rate
- 1 shake: "Darn! The pokemon broke free!" - Between 10% and 30% catch rate
- 2 shakes: "Aww! It appeared to be caught!" - Between 30% and 70% catch rate
- 3 shakes: "Shoot! It was so close too!" - Greater than 70% catch rate
