  1. I had trouble with logarithms because I sometimes mixed up the base and the argument, which both show up to the right of the "log" in each equation. With most other functions you only really have to worry about the argument, so there is really only one thing to use to plug in and evaluate. However, the changing either the base OR the argument of the logarithm can completely change the answer.

  3. My trouble with logarithms was especially bad with changing bases, because now that "extra number" (the base) in the function was changing unlike in most other problems. Working with both the base and the argument made the problems seem a lot more complicated. One of the most common things I mixed up was the order of the numbers (accidentally swapping the base and argument sometimes).

  5. In the end, I realized it works kind of like taking roots. The base is similar to the root (i.e. 2 for square root, 3 for cubed root) and tells you what to do with the argument. After a lot of practice, I was able to fix my problems and I feel like I understand logarithms and how to solve them now.
