  1. Punishment
  2. In psychology, punishment is a process by which a consequence immediately follows a behavior which decreases the future frequency of that behavior. Positive punishment is shown by presenting an aversive consequence after an undesired behavior is showed, making the behavior less likely to happen in the future. For example, a child touches a hot stove (behavior) and feels pain (aversive stimulus). Negative punishment happens when a specific reinforcing stimulus is taken away after a particular undesired behavior is showed, resulting in the behavior happening less often in the future. For example, A child fights with her brother (behavior) and has her favorite toy taken away (reinforcing stimulus removed). These are just a few examples of Negative and positive punishment in pyshcology.
