ZeRo's arrogance in "You can do it" - my comment

It's arrogant on your part to claim that hard work and perseverance are what pay off. Among other things, the context of Smash 4 alone proves otherwise, because it's a hawk-dove game to a T. If it isn't, then standards are hot garbage for a flowchart Mega Man to be deemed inspired rather than have to consider something like this:

While I'm on the subject of that video, I also get particularly impressive wins at 1:44:40, 2:00:10, and 2:31:15. That last one actually has the obvious solution as the selling point, believe me.

My problem is when the camping, because it is too effective, is so frequent that EVERYBODY does it. Where's the innovation? Oh right, nobody bothers with it when there's no need to. It gets worse when any attempts at innovation just get punked by the very problems they're designed to address. Being able to handle camping anyway doesn't change how tiring it gets to keep encountering it. As a result, people showcase the same indolent gameplay, rather than consider something like this:

(And at 1:47, yes, I literally thought Bayonetta tried an Air Dodge instead of Witch Time until I later watched the replay.)

And don't claim I can't do the spam I complain about. I very well can. It doesn't make it any less stupid. I'm helping to balance a turn-based strategy game and here is a case of idiocy I exposed for patching a while back:

For context, the horse guy getting shot at is one of the most durable units in the game. He is additionally on defense-boosting terrain that he was spawned from on his player's previous phase, and the game uses subtraction defense. That he'd be getting 1TKed by range spam with ease was absolutely ridiculous. The culprit unit type had since been nerfed to where the 1TK through the terrain defense by range showering can still happen but would now require too much setup to do so. And remember: this is a game where subtraction defense is involved. SSB uses division defense and keepaway is easier as well. Nothing gives it a pass.

Spam is simply hypocritical design. People argue that the burden of skill is on the player on the bad end of spam, because "just adapt" but where is the point where ANY spammer needs to do the same? Spammers simply should have to actually worry about being threatened. It would be tolerable if damage values were balanced well, but they aren't.

Of course, I'm just arguing with people who practically think winning a game of Uno under restrictive house rules is a hallmark of skill to loudly brag about, not something that can and does happen when the opponent gets screwed by the starting card being literally the ONE color that forces them to play their fucking Draw 4 immediately. That brand of hubris has to come from somewhere.

Every point you make is arrogance at its finest anyway. You basically claim I should just make my own good game with no support from anybody. Uh, okay, how, when I inevitably need proper support to iron out the kinks? Even if I could just make my own game, simply being too disconnected from the nicer people is an instant farce.

Also, being the judge of my own life? Hypocrisy at its finest. You tell me to just adapt to spam, so why should I not care about assholes who will not care that they're assholes and have power to hide behind like the cowardly pricks that they are? You want people in my position, who go through arbitrary bullshit out the ass that people like you never TRY to emphasize with, to try to brave very real problems without ANY way to make sure ANY good comes out of it? *_WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?_*
