  6. As an action, you can attempt to drain blood and life energy from a willing creature, or one that is grappled by you, incapacitated, or restrained. Make a melee attack against the target. If you hit, you deal 1d6 necrotic damage and regain hit points equal to the amount of damage dealt. The damage of this attack increases to 2d6 at level 5, 3d6 at level 11, and 4d6 at level 17. Once you use this trait, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
  7. Darkvision
  8. Thanks to your heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
  9. Languages
  10. You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice.
  11. Vampiric Resistance
  12. You have resistance to necrotic damage.
  13. Vampiric Magic
  14. You know the Friends cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Disguise Self spell once per day; you must finish a long rest in order to cast the spell again using this trait. When you reach 5th level, you can also cast the darkness spell once per day; you must finish a long rest in order to cast the spell again using this trait. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
  15. Sunlight Sensitivity
  16. You have disadvantage on attack rolls and on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.

  18. My thoughts on this shit:
  19. MaxHP reduction on succ would add another element of bookkeeping that will rarely matter in the long run. Encounters will almost always feature mooks that will never be seen again and their MAXHP being reduced for 24 hours will not matter if we kill them anyway. Combat is generally supposed to be won by the party, and killing of the enemy is the staple of the game.

  21. The Vampiric Magic is Drow Magic but with Dancing Lights swapped out for Friends and Faerie Fire for Disguise Self. Friends is generally unusable without certain abilities such as Disguise Self, Alter Self, shapeshifting, ectetera so it only makes sense that a mildly experienced vampire can actually put his natural abilities to use.

  23. The Ability Scores are CON and CHA in order to play it safe. Whether or not the person wants to invest in STR to be able to grapple for succ or in DEX to represent vampiric reflexes is up to the player instead of the racials. Undeadish nature lends itself well to Constitution and Vampires are sexmasters so Charisma is fine.

  25. The succ attack also is a special melee attack that requires an action, so even if you're a Fighter you can't Extra Attack 4 succs in a row. Action surge is legit, but that's rarely going to be worth losing Surge for a short rest, ect ect.
