  1. Many of you have been asking for new gameplay experiences to spice up the sever it's time to announce what me and several others have been working on for the last few weeks, our first server wide event: 4chan vs 4channel Factions PvP
  2.
  3. Join 1 of 2 teams in a fresh new world with a fresh new inventory to defend your base's Reactor from the other in a week-long pvp event.
  4.
  5. **>what the fuck is this**
  6. The world and everyone's inventory will be temporarily changed to a new fresh world and blank inventory for a week, and you will select a team to join: 4chan or 4channel.
  7. You will then be placed on your team's half of a 1k x 2k block world, right next to your Reactor, which you must defend from the other team at all costs.
  8. PvP will not begin immediately though, a bedrock wall separates the two factions. You will work together to build up your team's defenses, so that you are ready for PvP when an event called the Meltdown starts.
  9.
  10. **>what is the Reactor**
  11. The reactor is a 5x5x5 cube of bedrock, coated in a layer of glowstone and with a strong radiation field that gives status effects to anyone that comes near. In the center of the reactor, is the reactor core. If your team's reactor core is destroyed, you lose the event. Since the Reactor is made of bedrock, it's not possible to get to the core of the Reactor until the Meltdown starts.
  12.
  13. **>what is the Meltdown**
  14. On August 3rd, next Saturday, the Meltdown begins. Firstly, the Reactor shielding of both team's Reactors deteriorates from bedrock to obsidian, making the core vulnerable. Second, the bedrock wall seperating the two teams turns into air, and you can now attack the enemy team and vice versa, this will be an all out war until one of the reactor cores is destroyed.
  15.
  16. **>The world?**
  17. The world the game takes place in is generated with Amplified terrain, making for massive mountains that serve as natural walls, elytra leap off points, ideal tnt cannon points, and creating long, winding valleys. Both Reactors are placed inside of hollowed mountains.
  18.
  19. The nether is unavailable during this event for gameplay reasons, however there are multiple custom crafting recipes giving you access to all of the resources from the nether, here they are:
  20.
  21. TNT: gunpowder + sand (only 1 of each needed, TNT is made cheaper for the event)
  22. Notch Apple: 4 diamonds surrounding a golden apple
  23. 2 soul sand: Slime + sand (shapeless)
  24. Nether wart: poppy + diamond (shapeless)
  25. Netherrack: cobblestone + netherwart (shapeless)
  26. Wither rose: poppy + diamond + diamond (shapeless)
  27. Wither skull: wither rose surrounded by 8 diamonds
  28. Blaze rod: torch + diamond (shapeless)
  29. elytra: torch surrounded by 8 phantom membrane
  30. 8 arrows: Normal arrow recipe but substitute the stick for a bone
  31. Shulker spawn egg: wither skull + egg + chest
  32.
  33. **>what is the difference between the two teams**
  34. There are a few differences due to the fact that the world is not mirrored across the bedrock wall.
  35.
  36. 4chan:
  37. - Reactor radiation causes poison, slowness, and glow
  38. - Access to a village near the border
  39. - Reactor core is located farther back from the border than 4channel's
  40. - Standard Loadout includes arrows
  41. 4channel:
  42. - Reactor radiation causes nausea, mining fatigue, and glow
  43. - Access to a large swamp for slime farming (used to make soul sand and more)
  44. - Reactor has slightly better natural defense, with the mountain it's inside of being very tall and surrounded by lowlands
  45. - Standard Loadout includes food
  46.
  47. **>what happens if we win**
  48. After a victory, the losing team will have access to a portal to return to the 1.14 world with their old inventory, while the winning team players will each first get to pick from 1 of 3 shulkers containing valuables for them to take back to the 1.14 world. The player who detonates the reactor core will also win the secret prize if it hasn't been discovered by the end of the game.
  49.
  50. **>rules**
  51. Griefing, and pvp are of course fine. There are only 2 rules: no hacking, and no sabotaging your own team. If you recieve more than 4 removal requests from 4 other team members you will be pulled from the game
  52.
  53. **>protips**
  54.
  55. Use "/kit *your team name*" while on the field to get a basic colored loadout. For example, "/kit 4chan" if on the 4chan team and "/kit 4channel" if on the 4channel team. Each kit contains colored leather armor, and wooden sword and pick, a colored flare, a team banner, and a team specific item.
  56.
  57. You have several days to build defenses around your team's reactor, use it wisely! You are free to edit your Reactor in any way you like to make it stronger. Layer it with more obsidian, build lava flood switches, even make fake bait reactors.
  58.
  59. When the Meltdown begins, don't just focus on offense, a single enemy player with an invisibility potion can sneak into your base and crack open your reactor if nobody is there to watch it.
  60.
  61. In addition to using the geography to your advantage, don't forget to take advantage of all of Minecraft's mechanics. Soul sand, cacti, lava, hostile mobs, tons more, all can be used offensively and defensively.
  62.
  63. TnT is now cheap and readily available, so whip out those tnt canon schematics. Some advanced TnT cannons can theoretically fire all the way from one base to another.
  64.
  65. Don't forget to give care to your team's spawn points and base's backside, lone wolf players can cause a lot of damage in this game mode if you aren't careful.
  66.
  67. Get creative with everything. Shulkers can be killed for shells, but their special properties combined with a sticky piston door may make for an effective auto turret in your base instead.
  68.
  69. You can wear your team's flag on your back, hold the banner and use the /hat command
