  3. The Nanjirou had completed his morning work early, a joyous relief that gave him the rest of the day off, and he really needed to find something to do. It wasn't too hard to find something different to do in a village like this, but he just needed to figure out what he was going to do with himself. He reclined in his chair, taking some time to think about what he wanted to do. There was the park, the inn, the shops of Konoha, the arena(he hadn't been there in some time). So many choices of what he could do.

  5. He suddenly realised he had not met with the Raikage yet, his pen pal from across the border. He really needed to talk with her. Not about politics, that was for the meeting, no, he just wanted to get to know her more. It was probably a good idea to go find her and ask her what she wanted to. Maybe it would be nice to chat at the hotsprings, surely she wouldn't mind that no? His obliviousness didn't help him recognise the stupidity of the idea, but it didn't matter to him, since he didn't realise it.

  7. So that was his plan, to go find the Raikage and tell her his idea. Except he didn't know if she was still at the inn. He figured she was, but he would send a courier to give a voice message to the inn to let him know he was waiting for her at the springs.

  9. He sent the boy off towards the inn and he himself walked towards the hotsprings, with a merry step in his walk. He was excited that he could have some time spent with his pen pal, talking and having fun.
  10.  
  11. He would wait for her outside, should she turn up. He wasn't sure how long she would be, but he would wait for her. He was a (mostly) patient man when it came to waiting on people at places. He didn't mind her not being ready, since it was a spontaneous decision for him to go meet her here. Hopefully she would meet him there.

  40. Kiyo had decided to take the afternoon to watch Ming's adorable and precocious little sister Yuii while her young assistant took some time for herself. Yuii's arrival in Konoha had been a surprise for them all but Neither woman had the heart to punish the young child for her clever stow away. Perhaps one day she would be worse for it but such a sweet child was hard to discipline; specially when they were just glad she had survived the trip.

  42. At that moment they sat in the sunlight of Kiyo's room, Yuii sprawled out on the bed curled up under her much loved blanket with her stuffed Renren under her arm. Kiyo had taken to stroking her soft curls while lost in thought. She had only just finished singing her to sleep and now Kiyo had time to turn her mind to more important things.

  44. Like Samuru's disappearance when she had hoped so whole heartily he would come home with her. He was in her heart, as much as she loathed to admit it and that attachment made her foolish. Koumyou's hissy cat attitude had been somewhat warranted even while she battled within herself over Kumogakure's double standards. She was so terribly soft; she needed to reconnect with her honor and values.

  46. A quiet knock on her door, muffled by the semi sound proofed room and Kiyo threw her voice to allow the messenger entrance while letting the child continue her nap. It pleased her to 'see' the same boy who's informed her about the summit but this time there was no letter, only a verbal message. A meeting, at the hot springs, which would mean it wasn't a work meeting. It was an odd place but curiousity made her accept immediately. Who could ppass up an oppurtunity to chat with their equal.

  48. Grabbing her head set, she sent a quick message to call back Ming to watch her sister. Then she gathered her things, gave Niece's forehead then set out on the walk to the hotsprings. It was only after she had began walking that Kiyo realized that she didn't actually know the way. Easily solved as the first person she asked seemed to know exactly where she should go.

  50. She probably 'saw' Sunuke before he saw her and Kiyo took a quick moment to comb her fingers through her long auburn hair and pull her robe into place. Then she approached, all smiles.

  52. "Good-day, Sunuke-san. I was surprised by your message, was there something you needed me for?"

  78. Sunuke stood there for a little while, looking around to see if he could see her. He wasn't impatient or anything it's just he wanted to see her and greet her. His interest in foreign relations as well as his pen pal made him want to talk to her more about anything and everything. He wasn't sure what he would do with her, he just wanted to spend some time with a new friend.

  80. As soon as he saw he, he smiled,excited that he could meet her, without any guards or people about. She looked very beautiful in what she was wearing, though he wasn't exactly one to notice everything like that. He just kept smiling to her as she got closer.

  82. "Hey Kiyo-san, i'm glad you recieved the message, that means my delivery service is working." He gave a quick chuckle before answering with a more serious tone.

  84. "Well...I have the day off today and I was thinking if you just... wanted to hang out. I haven't had a proper chance to talk to you yet so I really wanted to meet up with you. I wasn't sure where you wanted to go, I didn't think the ramen inn was so suitable because you're staying there. Also I hadn't been here in a while so I wanted to see what it was like. If you want to go somewhere else, i'm more than happy to."

  86. Sunuke smiled to the girl, his hair blowing slightly in a breeze, as well as his Kage robes. A couple sheathes were hugging his waist. He was wearing his shinobi shoes and his headband on his arm. Even when out with people, he was very formal in his dress sense, not to dress to impress of course. He was just a man who was always alert, though...a little oblivious to people in the way they act and look. A little nudge goes a long way with the kage when talking to to him.

  115. Kiyo worried over her lip with her tea and stared at the triple paneled fabric across the doorway that marked the hot springs as open. She had brought her things just in case the message had been correct but Kiyo had wondered over the place he had set. The hot springs, traditionally, were a place for men to go and relax in the company of unattached women. They were a place groups of friends went to enjoy the evening and stare at the stars. They were not for first time meetings, were they? Perhaps in Leaf this was true.

  117. “Your culture is strange to me but alright. When in stone right? I must admire your attempt at multitasking.”

  119. Now she only wished she had dressed in one of the light, casual dresses that she was so fond of instead of the calf length robe and light over jacket of purple silk. The heat in leaf was unbearable and while she had learned to live with warmer climates during her travels those methods did not include bulky robes. She couldn’t imagine how Koumyou coped as the boy, unlike her, wore shoes.

  123. On that thought, wouldn’t a dip in a river be more suitable considering this heat? He didn’t seem to be warm though, as much as Kiyo could tell, so perhaps he needed the heat. Who knew how the people of fire country withstood their own weather and maybe today was cool.

  125. Kiyo just smiled weakly and tucked a stray strand of auburn hair behind her ear. Thinking about the weather had only made her warmer. Maybe boiling herself would make the heat of the day seem like a cool mountain breeze.

  127. “Do you ask all visiting Kage to go for a swim or is this a rare treat?” she asked in good humour while ducking into the building first. Cool, exquisite bamboo interior that even she could appreciate and even a pretty receptionist. She smiled at the girl and but held herself back to wait for Sunuke. He was the leader here, not her, and it would be interesting to see how he dealt with others. One could learn a lot about a person but how they dealt with those below them.

  153. Sunuke looked away shyly from the woman who comentend on the fact it was strange culture. He didn't see why though. Going to the hot springs on a day like this was...wait a second.
  154. Summer heat...hotsprings...whoops... He didn't realise the silly mistake, and his face turned a little red.
  155. "Well...truth be told...I had no idea where else to go. I thought it was somewhere nice and relaxing...also work stresses me so I need some kind of relaxation." Maybe he was being selfish, but maybe the woman needed some stress relief too? It wasn't too bad, late afternoon meant the sun was going down.
  156. "You're the first kage i've offered to even come out to see," he said with a smile, before following her into the reception and walking to the receptionist.

  158. "Two for the springs," he said, the woman nodding and giving them a pass. He then turned to the woman and gave it to her. He then gave her a warm smile, because he was happy that she had accepted his invite.

  160. "Well..I guess i'll see you out there?" he asked. He wasn't sure if the woman would just go into the female only springs. He wouldn't mind, maybe he could somehow shout across the springs. He would have probably been kicked out of the springs if he did.

  189. "Well then it is an honor. You're the first to ask to see me as well. I suppose we should keep this from the other Kage; they might be jealous." She smiled impishly at him and shoved her hands in her pockets.

  191. She had brought a little money with her, certainly enough to pay her own way in but it would be better to see. It was reflex after traveling with nothing so long to pinch and save every coin she had so all the better if Sunuke paid. And he did, how chivalrous.

  193. Kiyo accepted the pass token gratefully and returned Sunuke's smile. It was the least she could do when his pocket had lightened and hers had not. His choice of words then seemed odd and she wondered if he thought she would avoid his company now. "Yes," Kiyo answered while pretending to read the pass, "You will, I'm sure there is a coed area."

  195. It took only a minute to wiggle out of her robes and leave them neatly folded atop a handful of needles, her hairpins and a pile of assorted weapons in a locker. She Rolled and repinned her long hair with a different pin, one with a point so sharp it would go through a human skull like it was butter. She trusted Sunuke well enough but only a fool went around completely unarmed.

  197. As for dress, Kiyo chose a towel over a bathing suit to hide the perceived emaciation of her body but she could still remove said towel without fear. It seemed overly cautious as well but without having told Koumyou where was was going the Raikage was going to be more then thorough.

  199. That done, Kiyo headed towards the co-ed springs to see if Sunuke had beat her out there. More then likely considering the male skill for changing quickly.

  225. Sunuke smiled and rushed into the male changing as soon as she had left him. He was just wanting to get there and carry on his conversation a little bit. He was just excited to have a new friend from a different country.

  227. He started to undress himself, removing the sheathes and concealing all his weaponry. Out of sight, out of mind, right? He then proceeded t ochange into some swimming shorts. He then proceeded to walk out into the hotsrpings.

  229. The co-ed area wasn't all that busy, mainly because it was summer and it was late in the day. But he didn't mind that, it was nice to just relax after a busy day.

  231. He sat on the edge, his feet dangling in the warm water. It felt soothing already, without even going fully into the springs. He would wait for the woman to enter.

  233. And then she did, with her hair rolled and pinned. She was wearing a tower around her, whilst his towel was sitting right beside him. He gave a lazy wave to her, to show her where he was.

  235. "Hey Kiyo-chan, the waters nice here," he said smiling to her, not realising that he called he chan instead of san. A slip of the tongue and you could lose your head. The oblivious Hokage sat there and waited for her.

  264. The moisture immediately began to get to her and along with the heat it was almost took much. Being here before night cooled the air was near unbearable so Kiyo understood why even Sunuke would not be in the springs yet.

  266. She chose to ignore the chan he added yo her name and allow him to save face. If it continued she would just begin to add something as informal to the end of his name pointedly so that he understood the relationship that they operated on. It did not matter if they got along well or if Sunuke was very cute in a sort of bumbling, fuzzy sort of way; they were still kage of their respective villages. Kage still had to maintain a professional air... didn't they?

  268. She dimpled at him and found herself a seat beside him at about an arms distance away. This way she wasn't provocatively close nor irritatingly far away.

  270. "Ah, it is a bit warm isn't it? We have springs in my country but they are located outside the safety of the village. Visiting them is a rare treat", she swirled her feet in a pattern in the water then firmly planted them against the stone side of the springs. That left her only to sit back on her hands and pretend to gaze upwards, "Well, you saw Silver at the Summit, there is a group of Anbu equally as protective. Lucky me, I gave him the slip."

  300. Sunuke watched the girl sit down by him with her feet inside the warm water. It was pretty nice, the heat was just right for him to relieve all his stresses. It was a nice feeling on his legs, that seemed to relax them, letting them float on the water top, as if they were trying to fly away.

  302. She commented on the heat, and he thought about it for a second. He wasn't exactly well suited for this heat, but he knew how hot these things could get, and he was used to it now.

  304. "I'm pretty used to them, it was fortunate that there were springs in our villages walls. Meant that it could be used as a public place. Though I guess many people don't really go here during this time. Good weather and all. But I like them because they relieve any stresses I have." He smiled as he saw her moving her feet within the water.

  306. He looked across the water, to see if there was anywhere he wanted to go. He was just happy sitting with the Raikage for now, he didn't want to just leave her.

  308. He chuckled as she mentioned her guard being very protective of her. It was nice to have guards to protect people,but he kept his at a small distance.
  309. "Mine are around, always one near me, they' don't usually appear often, working under the shadows." A complete bluff, he didn't want to tell her that he didn't always like having guards, but rather liked to be an independant unit.

  311. She then asked if he would still be sending letters once she leaves.
  312. "Well I will...of course, it's only if you really want me to." He said with a soft smile, his mind wondering if she didn't like the letters. He looked away a little and waited for a response from her. That was all he was thinking of, had he made a mistake and sent a letter.

  341. Kiyo hardly caught the reference to guards, her mind already caught on something that interested her far more. History, Kiyo was a history nerd like no other. It went along with her past time of collecting old or new folk songs nicely as those songs were simply a piece from history. "Yes, I am sort of jealous about that, the spring being here that is. I can understand why this land was settled though, an abundance of hot water like that probably made life so much easier for your people. Piping networks would allow for hot water heating, baths would be cheap and easy, and laundry would be simple. If I am correct, this area became the new village after the cataclysm and so these things would be very important to so many refugees." Kiyo blushed and sat up then seemed to stare at her hands, "Perhaps it is so relaxing because the old spirits found happiness here too?"

  343. She paused, considered the pros and cons of allowing the Hokage to continue corispondece with her then shoved aside all reasoning and decided to make the decision based on what she, Kiyo, wanted. "I'd like that, thank-you."

  345. And then her mind was back to history but the barely contained excitement in her voice assured the listener that she wasn't just grasping at anything to talk about. This was a passion, "Kumogakure was rebuilt on it's old foundations some years after the cataclysm. Actually, the village was destroyed a generation before then and until my ancestor saw more then just ghosts in the ruins, it was left to decay. I believe that they built the city there because of it's excellent natural defenses. There are cata-" Her words cut of immediately and Kiyo shifted her weight slightly. She'd almost said too much but she could hardly say that either.

  376. Takeshi muttered under his breath, walking though the village, his eyes dull looking at his surrounding. This aura, the unnatural feeling of dread one feels always emanated from his body. It didn't help at all with some villages cowering looks, nor their thoughts of hatred towards him. Some humans were such hypocrites. He had tried to stay to himself; he didn't fight unless provoked and even then it was regard as self-defense. But when every something bad occurred, who was the blame?

  378. The bastard son of some demon. Yeah, more like it was him that was humans, and the rest demons. He owns parents, good old ma and pa had beat him for seventeen years of his life on earth. While he didn't mind people, he didn't like getting close to them. Even the slight brush against him, made his skin crawl.

  380. This aura was his shield, it was his protection. The glances of fear and hatred, only added to his cold heart. He felt nothing to these people, even though he become a ninja to protect them, how sad a thought. As he looked up, he found himself at the entrance to the hot spring. Maybe a soak was what he needed, just to clear his thoughts.

  382. And so Takeshi entered, nodding the women at the door before going to the room and changing. He quickly removed his clothing and replaces them with a pair of medium size shorts before going out, the stream hiding him a bit. A towel in head and barely regarding his surround, it was what he hoped.

  384. Though he was part demon, it didn't help much that he looked so much different than more villagers. His blond hair was fade to look white, and his skin had a rather dark tan. Two small horns laid on his head and small wings as well. He wore his clothes if only to avoid peoples looks.

  386. As he neared to a spring, he could hear voices, but he didn't know who they belong to. His eyes were closed, but he could naviagate fine with his demon eye. He didn't know who there were put, something about their aura's, unnerved him. He hoped that the would feel the Demonic pressence he body constantly releashed.

  412. Sunuke listened to the woman speak, because it was nice to just hear another Kage talk about their village. Sunuke hadn't exactly strayed far from Konoha, only once to pick up his team mates. Even then it was just to get in and then out without fuss. He was just happy to understand what Cloud was like to her. Hotsprings seemed to have been the reason why it came onto talking about villages, theres was outside the village. He wished one day he could visit places like Kirigakure.

But run off will always happen, expecting snow not to fall in our mountains is like expecting the sun not to rise or Kumo and Kiri to get along," She laughed good naturedly at the last bit; they both knew of how the meeting had gone and certainly the animosity between the two villages had been the highlight of the entire gathering.

His type tended to lead a solitary life even in an accepting environment. She couldn't know how Leaf reacted. She would gauge the rest by how close he sat and how interested he was in their conversation.

  504. The Nanjirou carried on listening to the Raikage in front of him, taking in the information she was letting him on. He didn't know much about the countries that were around, nor did he know a lot about the villages. So when she compared the water from the snow to the relation between Mist and Cloud, he could see it a little better. From the meeting, he saw that the two nations did not get on well at all.

  506. "I see..." he said quietly, thinking about what she said. His eyes looked away and then he smiled as he heard the man who spoke to them mention the titles. He didn't realise that many people would have known him without his gear on. The same being applied to Kiyo. But he figured that people were good at remembering figures.

  508. She then spoke to him, mentioning his name in a less formal approach. He wasn't sure how to approach it, not realising he had done the same earlier.
  509. "You want to give me something? Well...thank you." He smiled to her, he wasn't sure what exactly but he would wait to find out what it was. She mentioned her nukenin had gone missing again. They should've killed him there and then, but he figured that was their concequence.

  522. Not wanting to sit there any longer, kiyo opted to slip into the hot water of the spring. She slipped silently off the ledge into the awaiting water without a sound and few ripples. For one who saw through sonar, emersing in water was a frightening experience. Sound slipped through water differently, giving away odd shapes while also melting away her body into a greater being. It had been years after going blind that she finally could manage more then a shallow bath.

A lot of missing-nin he had seen had become cocky and arrogant, thinking they were invincible. But in reality they were nothing but slaves to themselves. He hadn't really ever met a nice nukenin, so why would he think other wise.

  576. When she asked him to kill on sight and not let her know, he nodded slowly. She seemed a little off, but her voice didn't seem to be changing because of it.

He listened to the man speak up to the Raikage, and he decided to leave out of this topic for now. He would just lie there and wait for a response from the woman, whilst relaxing from the waters.

  643. Her secret? Does anything with bloodline have to do with it? Takeshi didn't say anything, but her thoughts early had seemed to point to that. Odd, as if her bloodline could cause so much trouble. The demon thought about it for a moment, before nodding to himself. Her blindness could be considered a weakness, and it could make her an easy target for assassination, though he don't the Hokage would try something as dark as that. From what he thoughts told him, him seemed to be an alright fellow.

  667. Sunuke listened to the woman talk about being strong for the other shinobi, showing her mark on her arm. Like Sunuke's mark on his back, where he had his seal crafted onto him. Unlike Kiyo's, however, it was a mark of the bloodline, rather than a mark of becoming the heir to the Raikage, not that Sunuke knew it was. To him it was just some sort of tatoo, he would try and push the woman further into it. If anyone tried to find the mark of his however, they would only see a skin colour marking. His was only activated when he chose to do so, which was usually in combat situations.

  669. He watched her play with the water and look into the sky, because he was curious what the woman thought. He didn't understand much about her, he didn't understand Cloud village either. Maybe they had a different way of thinking, who knew. He would just watch her actions in case she did something that would startle him.

  675. "Well my uncle was a bartender in Konoha, so things i've seen and heard when people...drank too much, kind of put me off when I was younger. I just haven't really had much want to go out and drink, been to busy working and having a good time outside the pubs." He decided to flick water back at her, to see how she would react to it. He was having fun just talking to her, but a little water fight couldn't hurt, right?

Sunuke pushed, the water yielded, flowed and separated to fly towards her The water she blocked with her forearm even as she pushed water back, this time with a bit of chakra so that it would hit with a tad more force. With an extra turn she also sent a splash of water at Takeshi.

  706. “Well I need sake! You’re goodness will do me in otherwise!” Gracefully she hopped from the water to stand on the liquid surface with chakra. Now that the air was beginning to cool the light ;layer of water left on her skin cooled so that even Kiyo found the temperature bearable, “Excuse me gentlemen, I will be back in only a moment.” Kiyo paused only long enough to ring the bottom of her towel out; a motion that was not dangerous because of the bathing suit underneath yet still managed to make the extra flash of leg beautiful.

  708. The stone halls Kiyo retreated into where rough and cool against her bare feet. She admired their shape as her sonar picked up their textured shapes. The bamboo inlayed walls would look lovely along with them; the green and greys they might be would be soothing. It was a simple retracing of steps to find the original doorway they had entered and more importantly the young woman whom had let them in.

  710. The pink haired receptionist, at the request for sake, sent her down another hallway to what seemed like a lobby. There were only a few patrons here and more were still half dressed at best. There was another woman here, one that Kiyo decided she liked almost immediately, that stood behind a bar. It was a simple matter to set up a tab and come away with two bottles of sake, three saucer like cups and a few other odds and ends settled on a bamboo tray. As an afterthought she goy a third bottle filled with water; just in case Sunuke was stubborn.

  712. Minutes later Kiyo returned, her expression that of vixen like satisfaction, “D-rank mission, retrieve the sake, is a success!” She announced while fighting off the urge to pose.

  738. Sunuke's face was now covered in water again from Kiyo's push. She was a pretty strong girl it seemed, she had to be if she was Raikage. He would just stop for now, and let her go get her sake. He would find a way to avenge himself later on. He watched her as she went off, untill she left his sight, then he would turn and shrug to Takeshi, before lying his head on the stone path above him.

  740. He would relax untill she got back with the drinks. His eyes resting, and the heat almost making him want to fall asleep. But the sound of footsteps coming closer made him turn back to see she was back with the drinks. He would smile to her and laugh as she spoke about the mission being a success.

  742. "Ok then, mission complete, what is your reward, Kiyo-chan?" he asked her, wondering what she would choose as her reward for completing her 'mission'. He would just wait and see what she had to say.

  772. Takeshi did say anything the second the water hit him. He found it a bit amusing and chuckled, but that was all. Sunuke shrugged his shoulders at him and laid his head against some stones. Takeshi shrugged himself, looking up to see the Raikage return with a bottle of sake. He turned and looked at Sunuke after his reply about a reward. Wait..is he flirting with her?

Her eyes narrowed slightly, her grin stretched side until the auburn haired woman resembled a sly fox. For a single moment she had the look of a predator before they might pounce but then she shifted back on her heels, tray in hand and thought.

  795. "Well now, that would depend on the limitations of said reward wouldn't it, tut tut such dangerous words for a Hokage to speak. Since it was a D-rank mission, i suppose I shouldn't ask for anything too great." She made a great show of thinking, even placing her thumb and fore finger on her chin then finally she nodded. "Ah, I know!"

  797. Kiyo knelt and placed the tray on the water, that bamboo try made it float as it should, then she carefully slipped into the spring again. It was a hard adjustment after walking around in just her towel so long but the affect was much more relaxing this time. She looked forward to the sake, it would be a nice addition to their time in the springs. Kiyo did not drink often, not after leaving Kumogakure really, but she enjoyed it quite a bit. There was something sofisticated about sipping alcohol from a saucer cup which relaxing amongst beautiful scenery or workmanship.

He wasn't going to ask, it would be rude to ask if Kumogakure had some weird tribal dance they had to do when returning to a place.But she changed back and then spoke to him.

  864. Kiyos face brightened and she laughed as she pulled away from Sunuke. This wasn’t Kiyo, Raikage of Kumogakure, the woman who’s very word decided the fate of an entire village. This was not the woman who had wept a thousand tears over the losses in her life, the woman who had contemplated a rope once as an easy way out from this life. She was not the young maiden who had wandered away from her homeland, her mind in a darkened, crazed existence. No, at this moment she was purely herself, perhaps not the best person to lighten up around but he would have to do.

  866. Because in Sunuke, Kiyo was forced to see an equal in political power and possibly a greater in power. He may not always understand her ways but he would have a concept for the whys and hows of her life. Besides, she would be gone in a day or two so what was the harm after so many terribly things happening since her arrival.

  868. “Now, when I arrive home I may brag about having been kissed by the Hokage. I dare say they may be very jealous,“ they didn’t exist, Kiyo did not have anyone she would laugh over this moment with later. In that respect, she had not way of telling him how much his letter meant to her and how much the ones to come would brighten her days. Because for Kiyo, there was no one at home. The village existed as an entity, a great child that needed to be pushed and prodded into behaving. The council was it’s mouth and ears, she would tell it what it needed to hear and listen to it’s problems. There was no friendship there.

  870. Even her guard, the people that were meant to be close to her held no special place in Kiyo’s heart. Koumyou, after his embarrassing use of beloved on her, was forever black listed from true, pure trust. And if he, the captain of her guard, would do such a thing then how could she possibly hope to trust any of the others: she couldn’t.

On a whim she leaned forward and kissed his cheek back, the same sly grin was back but a bit of colour that could have been the hot springs sprang up on her pale mountain girl’s face, “There, and then we’re even because the sake was the mission reward. And so we shall reap the benefits!” She backed away, enough to fetch the sake, it had drifted away some distance, and pulled it back with her towards. Once there she took her time pouring out two little cups then held one out expectantly.

  900. Sunuke laughed as the girl spoke about braggin rights on having a kiss from the Hokage. He was a little embarassed by being regarded like that. He wasn't anything special, just a regular guy who ran the village from the tower and had fought in many different fights. No different than that of other kages, right? No, he didn't regard himself as a great person at all, he just tried to look after the village as much as possible.

  902. He watched as she then moved forward and he felt her lips press against his cheek, causing his face to flare up a little bit. He didn't expect that to happen, and it caught him off guard. He felt a little off balance because of this, but he would be fine. Though he was surprised even more when she changed the reward to being the drinks that she got.

  904. She poured him one and he took it, looking at it carefully.
  905. "I...I dunno if I should..." he murmured, looking away slightly. He didn't really want to drink it, but she had gone and got it for him...so he figured he'd have to.
  906. "Well...if it's for you Kiyo-chan...then fine..." he took it up and slowly and, with much resiliance, he put the sake in his mouth before quickly swallowing it. He shuddered a little bit from the taste. He didn't know what he thought about it, it seemed...weird. Was this what his uncle had been servivng people all these years? Those poor people.

She flashed her teeth at him then poured herself another drink, drinking it back with a muttered bonzai. She should have suspected that Konoha would have good sake, but it seemed this inn went out of their way to have the best. If she was in a position where she had to worry about money, Kiyo might have worried about her tab. As it was, she couldonly feel sorry for Sunuke having to try something so strong.

  939. "Oi, you can have some too kiddo. It's good stuff, one hundred percent great," she gave the sake tray a nudge towards Takeshi, which turned out to be a great way to get the alcohol away from Kiyo's possession. If she kept it she would only need to drink more.

  941. Her face was still bright and the sake didn't have much affect. With her metabolism, Kiyo could drink quite a bit before feeling it and besides she had years of experience faking sobriety. "It is an aquired taste, kind of like bitter teas and the like." Kiyo paused, her face pulled into a thoughtful expression. Well, she could always tell him one of the bottles was just water and let him drink that but where would the fun be in that? She shrugged to herself and waved her hand, "but feel free to have another Sake and hot springs just feels right."

  943. In her experience, time spent in a hot springs was generally spent playing word games or singing; both of which Kiyo was quite talented in, and she saw no reason not to utilize these. Even in these modern time's it often fell upon the woman to lead entertainment as demonstrated by the sake.

  945. She brushed her long, nimble fingers against the top of the water, the motion creating the sound of fingers running along the keys of a piano. She tapped her fingers on the water surface, enjoying the gentle sounds that floated up from the motion. Sound was a play thing for Kiyo; the motion of playing was purely for entertainment, "Shall I play something for you both?"

  971. He removed quiet listening to the encounter between the two Kages. He chuckled a bit when the Raikage gave him the sake after calling him kiddo.

  975. He reach for the glass and poured some of the sake into it before take careful drinking. He had drunk sake with his grandfather a few times, but he'd always be after so physical labor of some sort, so to him, he was accused to the taste.

  983. he would sit there, soaking in the hot water, with his eyes closed. Untill he heard the sound...of a piano? He opened his eyes and hear Kiyo play a piano...on the water?
  984. Wait, how is she doing that? he thought to himself as he looked over to her. He would just wait untill later to ask her about such an...unusual trait.

  986. "A song sounds lovely Kiyo-chan," he said to her, as he watched her in awe of what she had done. He had never seen such an amazing talent before. This woman never seemed to stop amazing him. He was glad that she had come to Konoha. It meant he had made a new friend who showed him some interesting things. Maybe it was the drink talking,but he was happy that they were hanging out, no work or anything.

  1015. "Alright then," She answered back, her expression becoming sober and forlorn. She had a feeling for what kind of song would fit this situation, one with words she was quite used to hearing. But for Sunuke, most of the song would be indecernable and so she could sing whatever she liked. It was a peaceful song though and one that without knowing her language they would never know as sad.

When Kiyo sang, her pale face flushed with a light pink color which made her seem prettier in the waning like. this was the only timem in her life she prefered to close her eyes because for her singing brought bright colors from past memories alive beneath her eyelids. It removed her bright violet eyes from being a focus point and so gave her watchers a better sense of other, smaller, qualities about her face. Like the dusting of freckles along her right jaw line or the peculiar way her brows knit together as she remembers each word of her song. Like the perfect line of her jaw and the crossed scar on her left shoulder. Like the way her hair seemed almost purple in this light instead of it's usual auburn. Little details that made Kiyo, Kiyo.

  1048. Sunuke smiled as the girl agreed to play a song for them, and waited for her to play. Eager to hear the song, as well as try and understand how she was playing the water like it was a piano.

  1050. He'd sit there and he'd listen to her play. Her voice was...qutie remarkable. He hadn't heard such a singer before, and why hadn't he heard such an angel sing in Leaf? Had Kumogakure been keeping all those voices away from the world as some kind of military tactic. Whatever it was, he didn't care, she had a beautiful singing voice. He could just sit there, and he could listen to her for a long,long time.

  1052. The song itself was quite a mixture of feelings, just from the singing and the piano chords. He couldn't tell what she was singing about, something about friends at parts. Was it a foreign language, or was she so into it, she was making scat vocals in the song? It didn't seem like that, though he'd wait untill he could speak with her. His eyes were closed the whole time listening to the song that she played. He was really into the music that was being played.

  1054. Once she finished he opened his eyes and looked at her. Giving her a very long and hard round of applause to her. He really like it, what she did then. He felt even more relaxed now that he had spent time with her.
  1055. "No,no, don't apologise, it was fantastic. I loved all of it." He smiled to the woman, his face a little red still but he felt much better than he did before entering the springs. He was nuch more content now. He would have to thank Kiyo some how.

  1084. Kiyo rubbed the back of her head and shrugged, "It's just that I usually don't sing those sort of songs. It seems somehow out of place in another country too, our language is special. I'm glad you liked it." But while she seemed to be embarrassed, she was also glowing from a well done preformence. What had the kid in the city said? It was strange to have people enjoying the music form your heart? Something like that.

  1086. Moved by the need for a drink, the auburn woman moved to retrieve her sake from Takeshi's care. It wouldn't do for him to drink it all at once. She downed another glass on her way back over to Sunuke, paused and with no thought tossed a comment over her shoulder, "By the way, I may call you kiddo because I would likely twice and some your age. Nick names like that are an advantage when you get up in years." She finished off with a wink then proceeded to pour herself and Sunuke another cup of Sake.

  1088. "Here you go, drink up," She said finally, handing off his cup while tipping hers back. No Bonzai this time, just drink. "Ah, it really is refreshing, I think sake and hot water are meant to go together like oranges and apples." She laughed, the sound filled with a gentle whole hearted kindness. The hot water already had her light headed and now as the first drinks settled comfortably in her stomach Kiyo was on her way.

It meant, since her bloodline had emerged, Kiyo had no concept of what she really may sound like; it was sort of fake.

  1094. She went to pour herself another cup but found the little sake bottle to be empty. This was whyu you always got two, hadn't she been so clever? Yup, she had and the second bottle was un corked and her fifth drink down her throat before anyone could hope to protest. "Sake is such a reliable old friend, it always does what you ask of it~"

  1120. Sunuke smilled as she took the compliment well and went to get more Sake. Maybe she just liked to drink the stuff, or maybe it was just a social drink. Either way, he'd just humour her for now, untill she was fine with him not drinking. He wasn't much of a drinker, and was probably a light weight, give it a couple more drinks and you'd see what Sunuke would be like under the effects of sake.

  1122. "Umm...well...ok then..." he said, taking the drink from her and drinking it all down. He shuddered a little bit, before smiling at her, his head a little light feeling. He would try and hide it for now.

  1124. She then explained how she could do the piano on the water trick. It seemed she was some kind of sound ninjutsu user. Unlike Sunuke, who was no ninjutsu user what so ever. He tapped the water lightly, while trying to make notes from his mouth, though a little off key.

  1126. "I'm...not the best singer in the world," he said embarrasingly, trying to hide his face before realising that he had nothing bu the shorts by him. He just smiled to her, still hiding the feeling he was going to fall over.

Her balance wasn't off, but in water that was no surprise, and in fact she seemed to glide through the water. And when she came close, those same hands rose to capture either side of his face so that Kiyo could easily lean forward and kiss Sunuke's cheek again.

  1161. "You must call me Kiyo-chan, always, I like it," The request was funny, made in the same tone she might use when issuing an order to her anbu. It was sweet, childish and so unlike any way she normally acted, "And write to me often; and Fisit me when you can, and I will send you more songs." She dipped her head forward, resting her forehead against his shouldereven as Kiyo continued to babble, "And you must not bring up politics in the letters. That can be in another letter one. Do you understand, Sunuke?"

  1191. What did she mean she wasn't the best singer? She was, quite frankly, the best he had ever heard. What was up with her then? He wouldn't press on it too far, for that would have been rude. He would just wait for her to speak, before continuing.

She kept moving closer, which confused him a little bit, before she moved her hands to his face and kissed his cheek again. His face turned a little bit red as the womans lips left his cheek. She asked to be called Kiyo-chan and to visit. Though her words were a little slurred.

I hate bad news, and business from other villages is almost always bad news. It turns into paper work and I abhor paperwork. You would think I'm a secretary with all the paper work they put on my desk. Poor desk, I rarely see it clean." But if there was no paper work that meant that economically the village had slowed to a crawl. She had no right to wish for the papers to work but when one say no end it could be very daunting. Perhaps she would hire another people on the handle the smaller papers and sort out what was most important.

  1232. the auburn haired Kage mistook his holding her up for an attempt at a hug so she was quick to wrap one thin arm around his shoulders. She was quite happy with the situation as it was though, Kiyo had found something, someone to lean on for awhile and lucky for her he just happened to be cute as well, in a "I run an entire village but still manage an odd sense of obliviousness that makes me endearing" sort of way.

  1234. "I believe I am drunk," she announced, an the inebriated were known to do. Her first tip had been when the ground started moving a bit like that water but if she really thought about it; holding on to the Kage of another village wasn't exactly a sober Kiyo's sort of action. She giggled, actually giggles, against his shoulder then, as if she had thought of some great joke and just wasn't sharing. "I'm going to give you a bird and some ink you know; it isn't much of a present. But the bird will get your messages directly to me while the ink will just save me lots of headaches..."

  1262. Sunuke chuckled at what the woman speaking about the paper work situation. He thought he was the only one, with the amount of paper work he actually had to do. He never had to file so many papers in one sitting it was unbelievable.

  1264. "I agree there, so much paper work to be done in the village. I get the same problems, sometimes i'm up until the early hours of the morning, filing the same pieces of work over and over again." He felt her arm around his shoulder and her blushed a little bit. He put his arm around her waist to keep her held so she didn't fall, but to also make it a proper hug.

  1266. He chuckled a little bit when she let everyone know she was drunk. He didn't know how he was exactly, he had never really drank in his life. But he would just support Kiyo and make sure she was ok.

  1268. "Ok, that sounds like a good idea. I'll try and train the bird to fly between both countries," he said whilst he felt her on his shoulder still. It had become an interesting night.

  1300. Takeshi listened to the two talk, noticing how the Raikage was indeed becoming drunk. He looked up at the sky, noticing the darkness was already fully deceding on the springs. He wonder how long he had been here before getting out of the water and bowing to the two.

  1302. "Thank you for the song, and the sake Raikage-san. It was nice to meet the two of you."

  1304. He turned around walking off, not wanting to intrude on any more matters between to two. He might as well get some sleep before morning reeded it head. After a quick gather of his clothes and items, he was go in a swarm of leaves.

  1325. Kiyo giggled again and pushed herself to standing but one hand lingered on his shoulder to keep her balance. She looked at it, compared it to a moment only days before, then laughed again at the irony. "Don't be silly, why would I give you a bird that can't fly? She's the very smartest bird just the other birds don't see it so she doesn't have a pair yet." Another laugh and her body wavered, like a tree blowing in the wind but she did not fall yet.

  1327. From behind, the other boy said his goodbyes and with a rush pf drunken guilt she realized she had forgotten all about him. Poor boy, he must have been lonely over there while Sunuke-chan got hugs. She would apologize, if ever she saw him again, and they would have tea. "Goodnight!" Her balancing hand left Sunuke long enough to wave with uncharacteristic enthusiasm and then she fell back against him as her pillar of support.

  1329. "Sunuke-chan you absolutely must try more sake!" She said insistantly, braving, for a moment, the unsure sea of warm water to pull the drink near. She wasn't one to enjoy drinking alone, he absolutely must! Thsi time though, it was obvious he would need to pour for himself. The hot springs was likely to get most of the drink if Kiyo did it.

  1355. The woman was just as naive as he was, and it was kind of cute. He would just take her reaction to his words as a drunken stupor and thus would just humour her for now. She was kind of...cute when she was drunk, she was definatly not the Kiyo that he had met at the gates, or in the tower.

  1357. The Takeshi decided to leave, both he and Kiyo then waved to him.
  1358. "It was nice to meet you, lets meet up again sometime," he said enthusiastically, before turning his attention on the woman in front of him.

  1360. She offered him more sake, which he knew wouldn't have been the best idea to have. If he did, he would lose all control of his actions and bad things could've happened.

  1362. "I don't think i'm a heavy weight Kiyo-chan...I don't know if me having more would be wise..." he said, looking away a moment before his returning to look at hers. If she kept pushing, then maybe he would take it. But he would need a few more pushes into having a drink.

  1391. Kiyo pinched his shoulder then giggled some to herself. He was right, he wasn't ehavy at all but neither was she. In this case she had twice and some the amount of alcohol in her system and it just wasn't fair. She would make a fool of herself and he would be fine. He would even remember it in the morning! Well she would remember in the morning too, all the more woe for her. "No, you certainly are not! But you're not skinny either. What a nice balance." She pinched him again like a house wife deciding on a cut of beef then began to laugh, "My type! Ah well!"

  1393. Kiyo sighed, her head was beginning to spin too fast, and placed her head on his shoulder again for support. Sound was cluttered and bouncing back in strange ways now. She needed something more grounding, "You're such a nice person Sunuke-chan. I could see the difference between the village's in the faces of the Kage at the meeting. You're country probably picks as much on charisma as they do strength. They wanted compassion. The mist Kage was firery. Mist needs a strong hand to wield them, their country is seperated by so much ocean that to them they must seem like the center of the world. Still, if there had not been prejudice I think she and I might have gotten along. Perhaps in another life." She chuckled, her eyes half closing, "I'm so glad they could not hear my guard's words. He is so deep in his own hate for Mist that he might have jepordized everything. Oh... I wish i could have met the Kazekage. Seitoshi-kun had very nice words in his letter."

  1395. She yawned, obviously the last drink had been the one to do her in. It was a fine line to tread while drunk between lusty high energy and sleepy calm. At very least she tended not to get depressed while in company, "And I was simply born for it. There was no choosing so I must mold to be as the people would choose instead.... I think I am done, my fingers have begun to raisin. Will you walk me back to the inn?" Since they were near the edge of the spring it was simple to reach out and use the ledge to pull herself free of the water. She stumbled terribly though without an arm or the water to balance in, "I'll just... go change and... yes."

  1421. Sunuke listened to the woman speak to him about the other kages, her head back on his shoulder again. It was interesting to see the opinions of the Raikage about the other villages. It was nice that she spoke of him like that, though he wasn't sure if that was right or not. He didn't find himself that charistmatic or strong, just a villager who wanted to protect the village.
  1422. "Well it did look like both guards of Kirigakure and Kumogakure were at eachothers throats. It was interesting to watch. But i'm happy that you were there as well to calm yours down."

  1424. Her words about herself was a sorrowful tale, he didn't really know what to say to her as she spoke as if she was just Kage for no reason but to be born Kage. He just smiled a little smile as she spoke about being done here.

  1426. He watched her as she tried to get out of the pool and stumble. He wasn't going to let her walk all the way there like that would he?
  1427. "Hey, let me help you there!" He jumped out the water and held her up over his shoulder as he walked her over to her changing room.

  1429. He would leave her at the edge of he changing room and go get changed himself. It would only take him a little while. But he'd back in his regular robes and with his equipment.

  1431. He walked back into the reception to see if the woman had gotten there just yet. If not he would wait there untill she walked/stumbled out of the changing room. He really enjoyed the night, just so sad it had almost ended.

  1460. Kiyo was not quick to leave the changing room. First she had to find the place she had put her clothes, a cubby but one well hidden away that she had thought while sober would deter thieves. Second had been managing to get them and herself to a bench. She nearly dumped her clothes on the wet stone floor, luckily she managed to avoid that. Once sitting she didn’t have too much trouble struggling out of her towel and bathing suit but she did take a bitt too much time making sure her skin was dry. Every inch needed to be perfect, ingrained lessons on wearing silk from her mother took over even while drunk out of her mind.
  1461.  
  1462. She tugged the first layer of her robes on and tied it’s obi then decided that the rest was just too much. Even in the cooling air, it was too much. She paused long enough to run her hands over the soft, slippery fabric then decided as her body warmed up then perhaps one more layer might be best. And so she ended up with the very top layer on as well; it looked too large on her slight form. At least she had avoided wet hair, that saved her some time.

  1464. And all teh phile her mind twisted around scenerios and posabilities; most of which a sober Kiyo might have paled over.
  1465.  
  1466. And so she stumbled out, her bare feet showing this time in the shorter robe and a bundle of expensive looking fabric in her arms. She looked proud of herself, probably for not needing any help which was funny. That was what a four year old tended to brag about. She only paused long enough to take out a few coins that would pay for the sake and then some and slam them onto the counter before moving on the catch hold os Sunuke’s arm

  1468. “It’s a short walk. Only a block or two… what, wait you know where we’re going!”

  1470. Sunuke watched the woman as she walked out in a different form of clothing,whilst holding the other clothes in her arms. She was bare feet and was stumbling towards him and fell onto his arm. He'd allow her to hold it as she walked.

  1472. He chuckled at her as she remember he already knew where she was staying.
  1473. "Yeah, yeah, I know," he said, laughing to himself as he thanked the receptionist and walked her towards the inn.
  1474.  
  1475. It was only a short walk but he walked her in and to her room.
  1476. "Here you go Kiyo-chan," he said, a small but saddened smile appeared. He was a little sad that he would have to leave her now, their time cut short by the light fading. But he would get over it, she would hopefully be ok getting in.

  1505. Even a few blocks was not quick. Kiyo was not content to merely lean on his arm and walk. Sometimes she went to fast, other times too slow. She would stop and stare into shadows sometimes, as if she could see every bit of what was inside or she would look up at windows and blush a little. In the early hours of the evening there was more passion going behind walls then usual and her 'gift' caught it all.
  1506.  
  1507. At last she seemed to settle into a comfortable pace, her eyes settled on her bare toes. He couldn't know she was watching him, sizing him up and deciding what to do next. "I like your streets here, they always seem to be warm. They're gentle on my feet," She spoke idly to herself though it was the truth; the streets in Kumo rarely warmed up at all.
  1508.  
  1509. The trip into the Inn and up the stairs was a little more daunting. She had, foolishly, agreed to be put on the third floor as so there was quite a number of stairs to climb. It seemed to her as if since she had left they had added on an extra dozen steps to each flight too. She cursed at them as she tripped over the bottom stairs. Again, while slow, she kept a steady pace until they reached the top.
  1510.  
  1511. And with the end of them seemed the end of their night but Kiyo was not content with that. She wasn't about to trick him or trap him either though, she wouldn't lure him in over drinks. So her hand caught his neck and Kiyo leaned forward to kiss him for precisely as long as he was willing to kiss her back. She could only hope she wasn't making a terrible assumption.

  1513. "Tell me Sunuke, do you have somewhere you need to be or would you like the stay here, with me, tonight?" Her words were gentle and unassuming, like she expected him to say no and yet they held a heated element of what could be if he said no.

  1539. Sunuke watched the girl stand there, wondering if she was going to say goodbye. However he felt her hand on his neck and brought him close to her and kissed him.

  1541. His eyes widened as she did that, and slowly closed as she kissed back softly. Assuming it was her way of saying goodbye or something. He didn't not know really. But he would break it off after a few seconds.

  1543. Her question, after all that seemed a little...off. Maybe it was the drink in her, or some other scheme. He just didn't think he could possibly...do such a thing. Not after all that. He just looked away after the kiss, his cheeks flushed.

  1545. "Well...I don't...think I can do that Kiyo. I just...have other things to do tonight,i'm sorry." He kissed her on the cheek and turned.
  1546. "Thank you for the good night, Kiyo-chan," he said as he walked away.

  1548. He ran from the inn as soon as possible. He didn't know why, but that really made him feel kind of strange in side. Was it guilt? or something else. He didn't know. Maybe next time it would be better.

  1579. For a moment she seemed stunned, like it hadn't occured to her that he might say no. If she thought about it, Kiyo knew very little about the Hokage so it was not impossible that he had a young wife to return home to. Just because he had invited her to as hot springs, of all places, didn't mean... "Ah... well of course. At least one of us has some sense," she grinned, her face betraying no hurt over having been refused. She wasn't really, she just felt a little stupid for even asking. It left them to say goodbye on an awkward note.

  1581. "Yes, I had a nice time too. I'm sorry Sunuke-kun." And she turned after he did, as much fleeing into her room as he did the Inn. She touched her lips, feeling guilty all the way through. But in her case, she knew what to feel guilty about.
