  1. ARIA, THE VOID MOTHER:
  2.
  3. In a time long forgotten when the gods were only first formed, there existed a small creature deep beneath the depths of the sea, an ancient and primordial being that had only ever known the void. There she stayed, eyeing with longing at the world above, a majesty of colors that she longed to be a part of. One day she tried to go to the surface, there she was taken and abused by those who only had cruelty towards the weak in their hearts and was thrown to the beach, she was unable to drag herself back into the waves and she wept as she surely knew her time was here. However, fate has a funny way of working, an old traveler came across her and using magic, managed to save her by encasing her in a bubble of sea water. Rather than returning her to the ocean, he sensed that she had a traveler's heart and asked her if she would like to travel with him. She agreed and they spent many years together, in their travels she watched him spread kindness and love to all manner of creatures, no matter who they were. This left a deep impact on her as she traveled with him and she came to care deeply about him and in turn he came to care about her.

  5. However, he was a mortal, and eventually his time would come for him. At the end of his life he returned her to the ocean where he had found her, they had spent a lifetime together and although she was still young, he was too old to travel. She didn't want to leave him but...she knew that she couldn't stay. As a last parting gift, he told her a story, his story of how he came to be and how he met her. Once he was finished he died in her arms and she brought him down beneath the waves. Her wishes, her dreams, the deep bond she had with this mortal awakened a power deep inside of her and she transcended her ancient flesh and become Aria, Goddess of The Broken and Lost, Mother of Monsters, The Void Mother.

  7. Where once she was one she became many and she spread herself across the world, she helped those who had been abandoned, were broken, or otherwise in a dark place and as her friend once guided her, she guided them until they could stand on their own two feet again, giving them someone to talk to, someone who would stand by them, and someone who would support them when no one else did. In time, her powers began to create the first monsters, beings made in her own image who soon diverged into many of the monstrous species we know today. To this day she continues to spread her message, inspiring her followers to do what she does and the only thing she ever expects in return is that they come back and tell her their stories over a cup of tea and cookies.

  9. There is one thing however, she does not forgive, which has earned her a reputation among more sordid followers of other gods as a heartless and vengeful goddess. She hates those that prey upon the weak, that take advantage of them, that manipulate them into something they're not and that they don't truly want to be. To those who do such a thing, her fury is a deep and cold well that's a bottomless pit of rage. She gives these people a single chance to repent before they learn the true meaning of fear of the deep. There are many civilizations who treated her children like animals and slaves that now no longer exist, lost to the deep and damned by the Void Mother. However, in place of these civilizations there have been found races of aquatic people who claim to be descendants of the ones who once lived in those places that are actively repenting and following the void mother, although most other churches, mainly those of the Goddess of Light, say that this is heresy and that she warped these poor people into serving her.
  10.
  11. She appears as a woman with a very motherly figure either with a split head that opens up into a field of stars or a straight up octopus head with glowing starlight eyes, her skin a deep and shimmering purple and a halo of tentacles at her back. She usually stands at around 6 feet tall and is usually seen either wearing clothing that fits the era or a large white robe that appears to be hand-made that reads "#1 Mom" across the chest, she always tells a story about how one of her followers didn't have much so they made the robe for her as thanks.
