  53. This is an underrated Jackie Chan film, that's pretty entertaining, with fantastic performances all around!. It's very well made, and i thought the special effects were great, plus Jackie Chan and Claire Forlani had amazing chemistry together!. Most critics panned this film, however i found it to be pretty entertaining, and sure while it's no masterpiece, it's a pretty fun film, with lots of exciting action and a cool, story, plus all the characters were great!. Lee Evans is extremely hilarious here, and i was really surprised by how much i enjoyed it, plus the finale was awesome!. Julian Sands is very menacing as the main villain, and i really dug the plot, plus Jackie's stunts were incredible as usual!.This is an underrated Jackie Chan film, that's pretty entertaining, with fantastic performances all around!, and i highly recommend it!. The Direction is pretty good. Gordon Chan does a good job here, with good camera work, good angles, some stylish shots here and there, and keeping the film at a fast pace!. The Acting is awesome!. Jakcie Chan is AMAZING as always, and is amazing here, he is extremely likable, funny, had amazing chemistry with Forlani, kicked that ass, was tons of fun to watch and really seemed to being enjoying himself! (Jackie Rules!). Claire Forlani is STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS!, and is amazing here, she is incredibly sexy, extremely likable, had amazing chemistry, with Jackie, is excellent in the acting department, and is one of the most gorgeous woman i have ever seen!. Julian Sands is great as the main villain, he was evil, and was also pretty menacing!, i loved him as usual (Sands rules). John Rhys-Davies has barely anything to do, he did okay i guess. The boy does really good. Rest of the cast are fine. Overall i highly recommend it!. ***1/2 out of 5
  54. Jackie Chan&#39;s new movie is a bust. Its 80 minutes or so of missed chances. The cast is there as is the action director,Sammo Hung, but this is movie that simply doesn&#39;t work.<br/><br/>It has six listed writers and about 19 producers of one sort or another.<br/><br/>I&#39;m watching this and I can believe its not working. Its just sort of there. I have no idea who to blame it on, probably everyone since this has the feel of a movie that had too many cooks.<br/><br/>The director, Gordon Chan, I know by reputation only, his other films are suppose to be at good.<br/><br/>Don&#39;t get me wrong, its not bad, its not anything its just sort of there. Its sort of like watching a blank wall, or better snow on a TV screen, there are things moving around on the screen but it really doesn&#39;t mean anything to you, it doesn&#39;t engage you...<br/><br/>For the record its about a magical medallion in two parts that bestows supernatural powers when its put together. I think thats all you need to know.<br/><br/>Is it worth bothering with? Only if you are a Jackie Chan completist. Everyone else has better ways to spend the time involved.<br/><br/>ON THE POSITIVE SIDE - It is better than the Tuxedo which was dumb and shouldn&#39;t have worked on any level. This should work but doesn&#39;t.
  55. Though haphazardly put together, The Medallion stays fairly entertaining until it kills Chan off and resurrects him as an immortal being.
  56. The working title of the film was &quot;Highbinders&quot;. In the original plot of the film, those who were given power by the medallion became a Highbinder. Snakehead&#39;s original goal in the film was to create an army of Highbinders to join in his crime organization.<br/><br/>According to the commentary by the editors, &quot;The Medallion&quot; was not American-made, although Columbia-TriStar bought the distribution and editing rights worldwide except in Japan, France, and Hong Kong (but these three countries retain the American cut of the film, the only cut ever made). The original cut was meant to be around 108 minutes, and the plot of the film explained Snakehead&#39;s crime organization of human smuggling, and the deaths that occurred from it, as well as his desire to create an army of Highbinders to aide his crime organization.
