  1. It does not mean: "don't criticize people on the right" or "don't criticize people to the right of you"
  2.
  3. The former does nothing to move the overton window rightward because it forbids you from criticizing moderate right wingers and presenting an alternative to them for other right wingers.
  4.
  5. The latter ends in a purity spiral where everyone tries to prove they are more right wing, or leads to a situation where people who DO are subject to those who DO NOT but are more pure (allegedly anyway)
  6.
  7. It really is a rejection of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salami_tactics#Origins See also: National Review firing 'racists'
  8.
  9. It refers to the right sacrificing its own to the Left, either for approval or for sharing the same moral frame of the Left. It's about people cutting up their own coalition when the Left never does so. "Dont punch right" means "dont throw right wingers under the bus over the left's approval or their moral frame". Maybe 'Don't Cuck Left' would be better
  10.
  11. It also often carries an implicit 'don't pettily infight and destroy yourselves' message. Be unified, especially during trying times, even if you disagree because helping one another pushes the Overton Window to something more agreeable for all of us. We really do only have each other on the fringes. The rest of the world agrees with you maybe 30%. Everyone on the fringes of the Right is 90% in agreement. And you'll get the schadenfreude of sticking it to your political enemies as well.
