Ragnorra Session 16

Start: 6 pm, Wednesday, Kythorn 16th, 1396

Cassius and Vix rejoined the rest of the group at the shrine.

They take some time to break down the crates into useable raw materials.

Dorn and Cassius take some time to investigate the properties of the liquids contained in the shrine, including the fountain, the tanks in the basement, the large barrel upstairs, and the sealed container. Taking a small sample, Dorn attempts to purify the liquids, trying various spells. He finds success with Remove Curse.

Keeping that in mind, the group plans to pass several days to purify the shrine, and ferry down loot to their wagon.

Satisfied, they pass the day.

On the next morning, they construct a makeshift sled using some of the raw materials they broke down.

Dorn proceeds to purify the fountain water and the hermetically sealed barrel.

Cassius and Dorn find only a dark, sticky resin left by whatever was inside the container. They find similar results in the fountain below. Ronja determines no trace of magic lingers. Satisfied, they plan to continue with this process.

Dorn, Vix, Lilly, and Simon ferry down sets of full plate armor to the wagon.

On their way, they run into a strange man with a wide brimmed hat, carrying a large jug over his shoulder, his mother in law, and his dog.

He explains he intends to visit the shrine to procure healing waters for his wife.

They explain to the man that this shrine isn't a healing shrine, and in fact is the source of the plague spreading throughout the countryside.

The pair aren't easy to convince, but the party is able to do so eventually. They turn back, confused, dismayed, but informed.

They load up the wagon, and bring a load of study materials, cheese, tea kettle, dried meat, soap, and tea up to the shrine, as the provisions there have waned.

During this interim, Cassius chats up Isadora. She explains a bit of her philosophy on life, and ends up coming off a bit like a lazy gold digger. He shrugs off her cautious probing and trains by himself. Ronja spends the time studying, making traps with the raw materials, and hunting. She manages to quite literally bag a rabbit.

Ronja decides to test the rabbit on the cleansed waters, to see what would happen. She dips the rabbit in the waters. It seems gravely irritated, but otherwise largely unaffected.

Ronja and Vix hunt some geese for the group. They cook them up with the burner on the top floor, and have a nice dinner. A couple of the geese are fed to Simon, to satiate his hunger. It seems to do the trick.

During the night, before they all decide to sleep, Lilly joins Vix in her room for a few hours.

The night passes into day.

Dorn purifies more of the tainted water, and crafts a plug to prevent the vapors from the top floor from polluting the air down below with some of the last remaining raw materials.

Vix and Ronja hunt some more. Both are successful, but Ronja bags more geese.

Ronja manages to shatter the statue into small pieces meticulously. The party brings a load of shattered gilded bronze statue to the quickly filling up wagon.

375 lbs of shattered statue remain.

Lilly, once again, visits Vix before returning to her cot in the room Ronja occupies.

10 sheets of parchment remain of the deconstructed goods.

The upstairs barrel, and the spring below the shrine remain cursed.
