  1. [20:33] Salthiel bows to the kitsune, and would part his lips to speak. However, hesitation got to him, and he decided to step back to leave.
  2. (Salthiel Anauel)
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5. [20:34] Satsuki returns the bow, and also the silence. She's... not particularly good at being social. She only stares in that usual, creepy little way of hers. She's clearly not making it better.
  6. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [20:36] Salthiel felt frozen by that stare, thus, he halted as he stared back. "Chancellor?" muttered the youth under his breath.
  10. (Salthiel Anauel)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [20:37] Satsuki blinks, just once - like she had spaced out for a moment and Salthiel's voice snapped her back to attention, however slightly. "Ah- hello hello... Salthiel? That was your name, yes? How can I aid you today?"* she rattled off, tone completely unchanging. She was a bit more dead than usual, overall.
  14. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [20:39] Salthiel slowly canted his head to the right, parting his lips so to speak. Yet, and again, not even the slightest chirp left his mouth. "Ah, yes. I wanted to introduce myself, and ask for a favor," said the Anauel, barely managing to garner the strength to speak again.
  18. (Salthiel Anauel)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [20:39] Salthiel Anauel asks, "But, are you- uh- are you alright?"
  22. [20:40] Satsuki Shimasu says, "I... had to do something which I am still trying to process, but-"
  23. [20:40] Satsuki raises her left hand, gesturing mechanically toward Salthiel - a silent cue to go ahead, friend.
  24. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26. [20:40] Lusion Casksworn says, ".. When you're finished Satsuki, I need to ask something of you. Well, sort of."
  27. [20:42] Salthiel followed the mechanical motion, slightly squinting as if mesmerized, before looking back to the Shimasu with a dead eye stare. Lusion's voice from behind awakened him, however, shaking his head in the process before responding. "Ah. It has something to do with meditation, but I won't hold you from your duties. So, I'll be off."
  28. (Salthiel Anauel)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30. [20:45] "I am sure Lusion Casksworn would not mind," she said, voice almost uncomfortably robotic. There was no variance in her words. There awsn't the slighetst hint of emotion or influection - it was all pitifully hollow. The worst part was that this was actually her normal - whatever incident she was still processing had only a slight effect on her, at least as far as her public persona went.
  31.
  32. "Will you?" she asked, gaze briefly trailing from Salthiel to Lusion behind him. Even though it was clearly a question - once again, there was no upward inflection. The question mark was only implied. And, once more, that empty, unblinking gaze was back onto the Izhuran.
  33.
  34. "I am always happy to assist in matters of meditation. What do you wish to know?"
  35. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  37. [20:47] "He came first, it's why I said when you're finished," he replied. The Casksworn slugged his shoulders with an lethargic, weary eyed shift in his gaze from her to the boy infront of her. He shrugged. "I'm patient."
  38. (Lusion Casksworn)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40. [20:52] The Casksworn was observed from his peripherals as the Shimasu underlined him with a seemingly rhetorical question.
  41.
  42. And with confirmation, comes his part; to ask a favor. A favor, that perhaps he'd be denied, though he found none who could guide him to clarity but the Chancellor herself. So, in the end, he believed it was worth the risk of rejection.
  43.
  44. "The Arcane, my lady. I wish to attune with it. However, I was told it requires vast dedication and perhaps a lifetime of learning. And I wish to try-
  45.
  46. No.
  47.
  48. I wish to clear myself from thoughts of wrath and vengeance. To steer clear from a wicked path, and follow the righteous one," said the youth as he slightly lowered his head.
  49.
  50. "Am I making sense, my lady?"
  51. (Salthiel Anauel)
  52. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  53. [20:58] The Kitsune blinked. Oh Gods. The Arcane - that thing she had absolutely no connection to whatsoever. She genuinely hoped Salthiel didn't think she was an Order magi, and for the briefest of moments a range of genuine emotions appeared on the Chancellor's face. Confusion, disappointment, perhaps, that she'd have to say as much - and a few other inexplicable things, too.
  54.
  55. "Yes. You are making sense - and... if you manage to attune to the Arcane, you will... make it farther than I have," she told him, taking a few careful, thoughtful meditative pauses in the middle of her sentence. "...It is something of interest to me, yes, but I have... not pursued it myself."
  56.
  57. That said, her hands moved to clasp behind her back, and she rocked back and forth on her heels for a moment, silently contemplating how to best proceed. He was asking her to be a teacher for a thing she was not qualified to teach, but... she did know at least a little.
  58.
  59. "I will... not be able to get you all the way there, Salthiel - but I will be able to take you at least some of the way. Meditation, guiding philosophy, a... desire to change- yes. I can assist you."
  60. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [21:07] "Yes, I understand. However, what made me approach you was after observing you fight in the dojo. You harness a unique power and understanding of the dark magic. And I'm also not ignorant about your knowledge and ability to mend the occult. So, perhaps you may not have pursued it, but I wish not simply for power anymore, but the guidance and wisdom you can offer.
  64.
  65. Meditation, guidance, philosophy.
  66.
  67. Though, indeed, I seek strength and the arcane to go against the odds and our enemies, I do not think I can achieve it, or even be worthy of it out of selfish desires.
  68.
  69. This is why I've approached you, my lady, because I believe only you can guide me. I believe you're the only one capable of strengthening my core, of acquiring the things I must possess for a calmer mind and soul," said Salthiel.
  70.
  71. "So, if you can assist me, I'd repay this favor with my life."
  72. (Salthiel Anauel)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74. [21:12] Upon reflection, there were many reasons that Satsuki didn't consider herself Order material. She had at least a partial understanding of her failings, and felt that she couldn't reasonably attune herself to the lifestream since she also realized she couldn't overcome those failings, either.
  75.
  76. ...But so many people became teachers of various subjects because, in the end, they weren't good enough to actually make it in their field. It made sense, then, that Satsuki might fall into the role of at least partially aiding in Salthiel's path to Order. And so the smallest of smiles crossed her lips, and she gave a slow, mechanical nod.
  77.
  78. Meditation. Guidance. Philosophy. These were things she knew. These were things she could offer, utterly separate from the Arcane itself. There was no reason to decline.
  79.
  80. "I will aid you, Salthiel. I will... take you under my wing, as it were - I am a priestess. It is... my duty to do so."
  81.
  82. Her mouth remained open for a moment as if she planned to assure him that he'd probably not need to repay her with his life at any point, but she thought better of it. She'd... just gloss over that for now.
  83.
  84. "I am pleased to have you, Salthiel."
  85. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. [21:21] To repay a priceless favor with life. One might find it an exaggeration, but true Izhurans boast honor and respect above all else, or so what the youth had learned.
  89.
  90. He bent forward as he lowered both hands down in front of his legs, though halting his hands a few inches above his knees.
  91.
  92. "I am honored to be yours," said Salthiel as he slowly stood back straight, performing an Izhuran bow.
  93.
  94. Understanding one's self. Understanding kindness and true benevolence. To attain tranquility and to cast away storms of lingering darkness in his head. That's what he wished to attain.
  95.
  96. "And thus, I shall serve you when I'm able in exchange for your wisdom and your thoughts."
  97. (Salthiel Anauel)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99.
  100. [21:27] Once more, Satsuki returned the bow. It was, like all things she did, completely mechanical, but it was proper, perhaps overly so. As she rose, the smile on her face grew just so; it was slight and imperceptible, but it was wider.
  101.
  102. "I will... direct you in the ways of the Illuminated, because that is what I know. It is... a fine way to discover inner peace - which will be the first step. We will... begin soon. I aim to renovate my shrine soon, as well as take on students for..." she trailed off. No, never mind, there was no reason to ramble now.
  103.
  104. "...The point is, we will begin soon, at the first convenient time for the both of us. I look forward to teaching you, Salthiel - and..."
  105.
  106. A green glow graced her eyes for single pulse as she continued to stare down Salthiel in that creepy-yet-unassuming way of hers. "...I genuinely believe you will succeed. Thank you for coming to me."
  107.
  108. Her stare shifted to Lusion. She'd not want to keep him waiting too long.
  109. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  110. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  111. [21:29] Lusion appeared to have been reading a book while he waited, though he peered up every so often. Her look in his direction is returned, though wordless otherwise until she finds the time to do something.
  112. (Lusion Casksworn)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [21:30] "And I thank you for accepting me," said the youth in response.
  116.
  117. "I'll do my best to meet your expectations, my lady," he said before looking at Lusion, nodding his head; a simple indication.
  118.
  119. He then looked back at the Shimasu, offering a quick bow before turning around to leave.
  120. (Salthiel Anauel)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [21:31] Satsuki Shimasu says, "...Lusion Casksworn. Your turn."
  124. [21:31] Lusion Casksworn asks, "Yes. Mind if we speak inside the building ahead?"
  125. [21:32] Satsuki Shimasu says, "Of course."
