  1. ==LAST WE LEFT OFF, LAVIRA WAS ROLLING FOR INVESTIGATION (15) TO FIND SOMETHING OF IMPORTANCE IN THE POWER ROOM==
  2.
  3. Sorodin
  4. okay so
  5. You find nothing that resembles a plug.
  6. Lavira_Dyenus
  7. damn. I go back to the Operator's Room and examine the robot holding chambers for anything I might be able to substitute for a plug
  8. Sorodin
  9. Which chambers?
  10. The ones with Geki's room or the one's without it
  11. *one
  12. Lavira_Dyenus
  13. I go in alphabetical order from the first room to last, and I decaptchalogue Geki to ask
  14. "Do you know where I might find a plug or something like one?"
  15. Sorodin
  16. Okay. As a forewarning checking all the rooms will take approximately 40 minutes and will count as a short rest
  17. Lavira_Dyenus
  18. I'm not on much of a time limit, so that's okay
  19. Sorodin
  20. Roll, uh, Perception or Investigation, whatever has the higher mod
  21. Lavira_Dyenus
  22. !roll 1d20+4 perception
  23. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  24. rolled 1d20+4 --> [ 1d20=8 ] | {12}
  25. Sorodin
  26. You search through the remaining 38 rooms. About half of them are the same as Geki's, with nothing notable about them. About 10 are reinforced with additional metal plates and such, and 9 have small deactivated computer terminals in them. You cannot figure out how to activate them.
  27. Lavira_Dyenus
  28. "Geki, would you please follow me? I would like to show you something"
  29. Sorodin
  30. OKAY
  31. Lavira_Dyenus
  32. "Thank you"
  33. I bring Geki to the hallway with the wires and the room with the outlets, and in each location I ask him if he recognizes anything
  34. Sorodin
  35. He says that he does not recognize anything here, but gets a weird sense of danger.
  36. Lavira_Dyenus
  37. "Where does the sense of danger come from?"
  38. Sorodin
  39. Everywhere, but a lot near the wire.
  40. Lavira_Dyenus
  41. I'll have to be careful around those wires, I suppose
  42. I check the northern door and see if it's changed in any way
  43. Sorodin
  44. It has not.
  45. Wait.
  46. Yeah, it hasn't.
  47. Geki stayed in the destroyed power room by the way, screwing around with the power box.
  48. Lavira_Dyenus
  49. I go into the outlet room and see what Geki's doing with the broken powerbox
  50. Sorodin
  51. He's trying to connect the wires to get it functional again, but it's not working
  52. There simply isn't enough wire to go around/
  53. Lavira_Dyenus
  54. the solution to this seems simple enough
  55. I return to the wire room and carefully attempt to gather wire for Geki to use
  56. Sorodin
  57. The wire seems kind of warm, which is surprising since it's just been sitting there connected to nothing.
  58. But it doesn't shock you, and that's nice.
  59. Lavira_Dyenus
  60. Given what Geki said earlier, this might not be a good thing. I quickly and carefully bring the wires to Geki
  61. Sorodin
  62. You have about 15 feet of wire, and Geki requires about 2 of it.
  63. Lavira_Dyenus
  64. plenty to spare, I suppose
  65. I give Geki the 2 feet of wire he needs
  66. Sorodin
  67. He snips it off, shuddering slightly at the touch, and goes to work.
  68. 20 minutes later, everything is connected and the power seems to be back online.
  69. Lavira_Dyenus
  70. I quickly captchalogue the remaining length of wire
  71. Sorodin
  72. This is evidenced by several drones flying into the room from the previous hallway, who promptly start to repair things.
  73. You captchalogue the remaining wire. 13/15 feet
  74. Lavira_Dyenus
  75. I also captchalogue Geki until the drones finish their repairs, to keep him safe
  76. Sorodin
  77. It doesn't look like they'll be finishing any time soon. That Giclops really wrecked things up in here.
  78. On the bright side, the drones don't look like they're hostile.
  79. Lavira_Dyenus
  80. The power box that Geki repaired may have activated the small computer terminals in the robot holding chambers, so I return to the Operator's Room and check to see if that's true
  81. Sorodin
  82. It is true, for two of them at least!
  83. Lavira_Dyenus
  84. I double check to make sure the robots in the two active terminal rooms are deactivated, then I open the doors to those rooms
  85. Sorodin
  86. The first one displays a hollow circle, and the second shows a large filled-in square.
  87. There are loading bar-esque things on both of them; the first one being about 1/4 full, and the second about 3/4 full
  88. (End of Desc)
  89. Lavira_Dyenus
  90. I bring Geki out and ask him if he knows anything about those shapes
  91. Sorodin
  92. Roll Perception?
  93. Lavira_Dyenus
  94. !roll 1d20+4 perception
  95. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  96. rolled 1d20+4 --> [ 1d20=16 ] | {20}
  97. Sorodin
  98. Geki replies that it seems familiar as a whole, but not separately.
  99. You do notice a marking on the back of his head, though, a plain black circle.
  100. Maybe it represented something like where he was held or someshit.
  101. Lavira_Dyenus
  102. I check the other robots for similar shapes
  103. Sorodin
  104. All of the ones in Geki's hallway have similar shapes.
  105. The drones repairing have an empty square.
  106. There are no robots left in the second hallway.
  107. Lavira_Dyenus
  108. I try interacting with the bars by sliding my finger to the left and right on the previously unmentioned touch screen
  109. Sorodin
  110. The bars don't move, but as you touch the screen on the square side, it's big enough so that your finger smudges the square a bit, deforming it
  111. When you do that, the bar goes down a little. Not a lot, but a little.
  112. Lavira_Dyenus
  113. I try deforming the square a little more until the bar is half-full, then I wait for a reaction. If there is none, I keep smudging the square until the bar is 1/4 full and wait for a reaction
  114. Sorodin
  115. How exactly do you deform it?
  116. Like, from the top down, or into a specific shape, or what
  117. Lavira_Dyenus
  118. I try shaping it like a circle to start
  119. Sorodin
  120. You shape it into a circle, creating a full circle, and a whole lotta extra black matter. The bar reads half full now.
  121. Lavira_Dyenus
  122. I try smudging the area inside the circle
  123. Sorodin
  124. You smudge the area inside the circle, hollowing it out and pushing some more matter out. You create an empty circle, which lowers the bar to about 1/4
  125. Lavira_Dyenus
  126. I try smudging the empty circle into nothing
  127. Sorodin
  128. You smudge all the matter off the edges of the box, where it vanishes. The bar is now empty.
  129. Lavira_Dyenus
  130. I try drawing/creating a circle this time
  131. Sorodin
  132. With what stuff?
  133. Lavira_Dyenus
  134. Is there any matter to be found from when I smudged the shapes?
  135. Sorodin
  136. No, you shoved it all off the edges of the terminal, where it went into who-knows-where virtual land.
  137. Maybe it showed up somewhere else, like Pacman style
  138. Lavira_Dyenus
  139. I check the first terminal with the hollow circle, then
  140. Sorodin
  141. The terminal with the hollow circle now has a whole bunch of black matter on it.
  142. The bar reads full.
  143. Lavira_Dyenus
  144. I try smudging the black matter and making a full circle shape, reducing the bar to half-full
  145. Sorodin
  146. You make a full circle shape on this one, and the bar is now half full! You have about half the matter left over.
  147. Lavira_Dyenus
  148. I use the leftover matter to make a full circle on the other terminal
  149. Sorodin
  150. You make a full circle on the other terminal, and the bar fills up half full. There's a "ding" sound, and you hear the distant sounds of a door opening.
  151. Take 30 EXP.
  152. Lavira_Dyenus
  153. I captchalogue Geki and head to the northern door in the wire room
  154. Sorodin
  155. It's unlocked now!
  156. Lavira_Dyenus
  157. I enter
  158. cautiously
  159. Sorodin
  160. don't u be forgetting ur keywor- yeah there we go
  161. You enter the door, and walk into a circular room, with four doors out on the wall. The far left one is opened, and has a full circle on it. The rest of them, from left to right, have a large square, an open triangle, and an infinity sign on them.
  162. In addition, there's a small platform in the middle of the room.
  163. HEY CAN I SEE THAT PLATFORM REAL QUICK
  164. Lavira_Dyenus
  165. "May I ask why, Geki?"
  166. Sorodin
  167. I DONT KNOW BUT IT SEEMS LIKE
  168. GLOWY
  169. Lavira_Dyenus
  170. "I see no reason to say no"
  171. "But first, please allow me to try seeing it for myself"
  172. I see the platform for myself up close
  173. Sorodin
  174. It has a weird skinny triangle design, like a horn inscribed on it, and it's small enough that you could step up there without having to jump
  175. Lavira_Dyenus
  176. "Alright Geki, here you are"
  177. I bring Geki out and let him see the platform
  178. Sorodin
  179. He pokes at it for a while, before pulling himself up to stand on top of it.
  180. When he gets on top, you notice him starting to glow a faint blue, like he's being recharged or something.
  181. He looks vaguely satisfied, and steps down.
  182. WELL, THAT WAS A THING
  183. Lavira_Dyenus
  184. "Do you feel any different?"
  185. Sorodin
  186. YEAH
  187. THERE ARE THESE WEIRD HOLES IN ME NOW
  188. He tilts his head down to show you the four slots on his head that weren't there before.
  189. Lavira_Dyenus
  190. "Interesting. This will no doubt be relevant soon enough"
  191. "For now, let's continue"
  192. I captchalogue Geki again and head through the open left-most door
  193. cautiously, of course
  194. Sorodin
  195. You enter through the left-most door, and come out into a room that looks vaguely like an elevator. It has windows on all sides, looking out into the glorious walls of rock and dirt and stuff, and a floor select option near the door you came in.
  196. The glass is kind of plastic-like in texture.
  197. Lavira_Dyenus
  198. I check the available options in the floor-select
  199. Sorodin
  200. 3 (what you're on)
  201. 2
  202. 1
  203. B1
  204. B2
  205. B1 is lit up orange.
  206. Lavira_Dyenus
  207. I select B1, then
  208. Sorodin
  209. You hit the B1 button, and it turns a green, and the door swivels shut behind you.
  210. !!ERROR!!
  211. !!UNAUTHORIZED USER IN LIFT!!
  212. !!UNIDENTIFIABLE!!
  213. !!INITIATING SECURITY PROTOCOL!!
  214. The wall behind you lights up, and you're faced with several scrolling lines of code as well as a box where you can enter commands in!
  215. Roll INT to understand!
  216. Lavira_Dyenus
  217. !roll 1d20-1
  218. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  219. rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=18 ] | {17}
  220. Sorodin
  221. It appears that this is the source code of the security protocol. There's a main body of code, protected by several firewalls and safeguards. Maybe this is here to prevent anything but the rhinos and robots from coming in?
  222. You can try to delete the code as you wish
  223. Lavira_Dyenus
  224. "Geki, do you think you could do anything about this code?"
  225. "I lack any knowledge about this"
  226. Sorodin
  227. He replies, yes he can, but you might have trouble fitting him in here with you.
  228. Lavira_Dyenus
  229. "I can manage"
  230. I carefully bring out geki and shift myself around to make room for him
  231. Sorodin
  232. You bring out Geki and shift yourself around to make room.
  233. Lavira_Dyenus
  234. "Alright, please get to work"
  235. Sorodin
  236. Take a passive -2 to AC while you're in here due to no room to dodge, but on the bright side someone competent with computers is working on disabling the code
  237. !!SECURITY MEASURES ACTIVATING!!
  238. A small blade pops out of the ceiling, and pokes around, much like a probe.
  239. !roll 1d20+4
  240. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  241. rolled 1d20+4 --> [ 1d20=12 ] | {16}
  242. Sorodin
  243. And doesn't manage to reach you.
  244. Geki starts hacking.
  245. !roll 1d20+9
  246. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  247. rolled 1d20+9 --> [ 1d20=6 ] | {15}
  248. Sorodin
  249. Decent progress is made.
  250. Anything you wish to do?
  251. Lavira_Dyenus
  252. is the door to the lift still currently open? Those ceiling blades concern me
  253. Sorodin
  254. It is not.
  255. Lavira_Dyenus
  256. I shift myself so I'm as far out of the ceiling blades' reach as possible and let Geki continue his work
  257. Sorodin
  258. -1 to hit from ceiling blades.
  259. !!PROBE COMPLETED. ONE AUTHORIZED FOUND. ONE UNAUTHORIZED FOUND!!
  260. !!CONTINUING PURGE!!
  261. !roll 1d20+6
  262. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  263. rolled 1d20+6 --> [ 1d20=6 ] | {12}
  264. Sorodin
  265. More blades pop out and attempt to scratch at you, but you scoff at their efforts
  266. These things are shit at hitting
  267. !roll 1d20+9
  268. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  269. rolled 1d20+9 --> [ 1d20=10 ] | {19}
  270. Lavira_Dyenus
  271. !roll 1d4 block?
  272. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  273. rolled 1d4 --> [ 1d4=4 ] | {4}
  274. Sorodin
  275. You block them just for the fun of it
  276. They don't appreciate you teasing them
  277. Can blades appreciate things?
  278. Find out next time on NBC
  279. ANYWAY.
  280. OKAY THIS IS GOING OKAY
  281. COULD BE BETTER
  282. Lavira_Dyenus
  283. "Keep at it Geki, I know you can do it"
  284. Sorodin
  285. The walls open up small slits and start firing out into the elevator. Geki takes a few hits but nothing bad.
  286. !roll 1d20+7
  287. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  288. rolled 1d20+7 --> [ 1d20=14 ] | {21}

  291. Lavira_Dyenus
  292. !roll 1d4 block
  293. Kaiserbot[Dice]

  298. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  299. rolled 1d20+9 --> [ 1d20=16 ] | {25}
  300. Sorodin
  301. Geki types *even faster.*
  302. OKAY I THINK I GOT MOST OF THE FIREWALLS
  303. NOW FOR THE MAIN THING
  304. Lavira_Dyenus
  305. "You're doing very good, Geki"
  306. Sorodin
  307. The bullets continue to fire, along with the ceiling blades! Creative Design^tm
  308. !roll 1d20+8
  309. Kaiserbot[Dice]

  329. Lavira_Dyenus
  330. "Very good, Geki"
  331. Sorodin
  332. !!FIREWALLS BROKEN!!
  333. !!INITIATING FINAL SEQUENCE!!
  334. The elevator starts to fill up with a gas that you feel like will be not good for your health.
  335. In addition, the guns start going
  336. **RAPID FIRE**
  337. !roll 1d20+9
  338. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  339. rolled 1d20+9 --> [ 1d20=13 ] | {22}

  357. !roll 1d20+9
  358. Kaiserbot[Dice]
  359. rolled 1d20+9 --> [ 1d20=16 ] | {25}
  360. Sorodin
  361. Suddenly, everything turns off as Geki regains control of the elevator.
  362. WELL THERE WE GO
  363. Lavira_Dyenus
  364. "Wonderful job, Geki"
  365. Sorodin
  366. IT HELPED THAT THERE WAS A BACKDOOR BUT IT WAS STILL KIND OF HARD
  367. The elevator reaches B1, and slowly opens.
  368. Lavira_Dyenus
  369. I captchalogue Geki for safety and cautiously go forth
  370. Sorodin
  371. Beyond is a mine-like area, where several drones equipped with drills are mining away at the walls, bringing wheelbarrows of various rock back and forth.
  372. Lavira_Dyenus
  373. I examine them for any shape-symbols
  374. Sorodin
  375. Meanwhile, other drones are setting floor tiles and walls where the excavator robots have finished.
  376. The first one you examine has a symbol like Geki's.
  377. H-E-Y Y-O-U-R-E G-E-T-T-I-N-G I-N T-H-E W-A-Y
  378. Lavira_Dyenus
  379. "My apologies"
  380. I move out of their way
  381. Sorodin
  382. They continue working with EXTREME EFFICIENTNESSCY
  383.
