  1. Seiken Densetsu
  2.
  3. Platforms: GB, PSV
  4. Released:
  5. 28.06.1991 (J)
  6. 11.1991 (NA)
  7. 1993 (PAL)
  8.
  9. Based on: Japanese version (DMG-FFJ)
  10.
  11.
  12.
  13. - Aka. Final Fantasy Adventure / Mystic Quest / Adventures of Mana.
  14.
  15. - You have nine stats: HP, MP, TP, ATP, DFP, Strength (Chikara), Vitality
  16. (Tairyoku), Intelligence (Kashikosa) and Wisdom (Seishin). When you level
  17. up, you can choose one of four different ways to build up your base stats.
  18. To reach max stats, you need to alternate between Senshi and Madoushi.
  19.
  20. StrVitIntWis
  21. Senshi | 2 1 - 1 |
  22. Monk | 1 2 - 1 |
  23. Madoushi | - 1 2 1 |
  24. Kenja | - 1 1 2 |
  25.
  26. - Max HP is 19 + Vit^2 / 10. Max MP pretty much directly increases with
  27. your Int.
  28. - ATP = Str + weapon ATP. DFP = Vit + armor DFP combined.
  29. - The tech gauge at the bottom of the screen is a visual representation
  30. of your Tech Points (TP) that gradually build up from 0 and max out at 64.
  31. When you attack or cast magic, your TP resets. You gain TP at a rate of
  32. x per 1 second, where x = Wis/2,5. Here's how much time it takes to fully
  33. charge the gauge at certain values (160/Wis):
  34.
  35. 2 | 80s 16 | 10s
  36. 4 | 40s 32 | 5s
  37. 8 | 20s 40 | 4s
  38.
  39. - Physical damage dealt is (character ATP*e - enemy DFP)tr.
  40. e: Elemental resistance
  41. t: Tech level multiplier
  42. r: Random variable
  43.
  44. - The Tech level multiplier is defined by your TP as seen below:
  45.
  46. TP t
  47. Lv1 | <16 | 1,0
  48. Lv2 | 16-31 | 1,25
  49. Lv3 | 32-47 | 1,5
  50. Lv4 | 48-63 | 1,75
  51.
  52. - You can use these visual points of reference to see when exactly your
  53. Tech level increases:
  54. Lv2 | Between the ones and tens HP digits
  55. Lv3 | After the P in MP
  56. Lv4 | Just before the R
  57.
  58. - At Lv5, you'll perform a special attack. Each weapon type has its own
  59. special attack, with swords having two different ones.
  60.
  61. - Physical damage received is (enemy ATP*e - character DFP)r. Many enemies
  62. have two different ATP values: one for body contact and one for their
  63. actual attack (usually a projectile). Many enemies are also immune to
  64. certain types of damage.
  65.
  66. - Cure: 20 + Int | 20 + Int*2 (full TP)
  67.
  68. - Status ailments:
  69. - Doku: 9 hits at 5%.
  70. - Moumoku: Things get a little dark. Nothing to worry about.
  71. - Moogle: Unable to act, DFP drops to 0.
  72. - Kiseki: Unable to move.
  73. - All status ailments last 8 seconds.
  74.
  75. - You have 16 slots for usable items and 12 slots for equipment. The
  76. weapons you can't get rid of will take up 5 slots.
  77. - The PSV-version gives you a few hotkeys.
  78. - The boss fights have been tweaked on the PSV.
  79. - The PSV-version may occasionally crash or have some other issues (eg.
  80. once I ended up inside the wall).
  81. - Both the amount of Exp and Lucre you receive from enemies has a random
  82. variable.
  83. - The max amount of money you can carry is 65 535.
  84. - The game does not track your play time.

  109. \\\ Granz ||
  110. Default: Broad Sword, Bronze Armor, Bronze no Kabuto, Bronze no Tate
  111.
  112. - You start off at Level 1 with 19 HP, 6 MP, base stats at 2 and 50 Lucre.
  113. - Jackal: 30 HP, 9 ATP, 2 DFP, 0 xp 0 lucre
  114.
  115. Item: 7× Mattock \\\ Topple Region ||
  116. - After your escape, you'll find yourself in Topple outskirts (F7).
  117. - Spend some time leveling up and getting used to the mechanics. When
  118. you level up, your HP and MP is fully restored.
  119. - If you kill all the enemies in a given area, you generally have to
  120. move four areas away to trigger a respawn. However, if you leave at
  121. least one enemy alive, you'll get a respawn/reroll by simply moving
  122. one area away.
  123. - The sword has two different basic attacks: a swing and a thrust. You
  124. trigger the latter by pressing in a direction as you attack.
  125. - The sword also has two different charge attacks. One is a spin attack
  126. where you press Attack while the d-pad is on neutral. Keep holding down
  127. Attack to continue spinning (up to 8 seconds) during which you can move
  128. freely. The other attack is triggered by pressing in a direction when
  129. you attack. This causes you to fly forward and back.
  130. - Pick up the Girl near Topple, then go see Bogard northwest. Use the
  131. Mattocks you find at his place to get through the nearby cave.
  132. - The Girl can heal you if you use the fourth option in the menu (Soudan).
  133.

  140.
  141. Item: Battle Axe - 150 L \\\ Marsh ||
  142. Shop: 7× Mattock - 60 L
  143. - You can use axes to cut down trees. Most trees leave behind a stump
  144. that you can't pass but some are fully removed.
  145. - You'll need Keys and Mattocks in every dungeon, so make sure you
  146. never run out. Every dungeon has enemies that drop them, so it's not
  147. possible to end up stuck (with maybe one or two exceptions). Locked
  148. doors and breakable walls will respawn if you simply refresh the area,
  149. but not if you enter from the room they lead to.
  150.
  151. Special: Cure \\\ Vinquette no Yakata ||
  152. - Go rest in one of the beds and the girl will teach you Cure.
  153.

  169. - Lower case areas in sequence (eg. a8 and a9 or c9 and d1) are connected,
  170. usually through stairs, sometimes warps. Many dungeons have small areas
  171. that are "outside" of the dungeon and not part of the map.
  172. - Breakable walls are always in the middle part of the wall, and hitting
  173. them produces noise.
  174. - You can team up with the mage dude, but it's not strictly necessary.
  175. - The Land Leeches are very annoying and very dangerous. There's really
  176. not much you can do other than level up until they become manageable.
  177. - You can use the sickle to cut grass.
  178.

  534. - The Icebrand is the only weapon that can easily dispatch Fire Moths
  535. and Earth Elementals.
  536. - The first two rooms are a good place to level up.
  537. - You'll have to walk over lava in a couple of rooms (3*Lv dmg). You
  538. could try to avoid the damage by getting hit by an enemy. Lava damage
  539. also gives you a brief moment of invincibility.

  549. [Boss]
  550. - 170 \ 170 ATP, 175 Exp, 210 Lucre
  551. - A really tough boss, even if you don't come here early. Your weapon of
  552. choice is the Fire Flail. He mostly sticks to a sideways figure 8 pattern.
  553. Stay at the bottom and move left or right accordingly as he turns to
  554. swoop towards you. He should narrowly pass you by, while the skull
  555. projectiles fly at your previous position.
  556. - He will periodically fly off-screen to the left or south and then appear
  557. from the other side. When he goes south, you have to mix things up a bit,
  558. as it's not safe at the bottom. You need to go "up" along with him, and
  559. then quickly get back to the bottom after he passes you by.
  560. - You can destroy the skull projectiles by attacking them, but it's difficult
  561. to do consistently because of the angles.
