「こちら[ザフト]軍特務隊、アスラン・ザラだ。
聞こえるか、フリーダム。
キラ・ヤマトだな?」
Athrun: This is [ZAFT] Special Forces member, Athrun Zala. Do you read me, Freedom? That’s you, isn’t it, Kira Yamato?

キラ
「アスラン…!」
Kira: Athrun...!

デュオ
「おい、ヒイロ。
あいつはキラの知り合いなのか?」
Duo: Hey, Heero. Does Kira know that guy?

ヒイロ
「ああ。
昔の友人で、キラのストライクを大破させた」
Heero: Yes. An old friend of his, and also the one who destroyed Kira’s Strike.

デュオ
「そりゃ複雑だな…」
Duo: So it’s complicated, gotcha...

キラ
「どういうつもりだ、アスラン!?
ザフトがこの戦闘に介入するのか!?」
Kira: What are you doing here, Athrun!? Has ZAFT decided to stick its nose into this battle too!?

アスラン
「俺はこの戦闘に関して、
軍から何の命令も受けていない」
Athrun: I haven’t received any specific military orders regarding this battle.

アスラン
「この介入は…俺個人の意志だ!」
Athrun: This intervention... Is my decision alone!

アムロ
(なら、彼は重大な命令違反をしたことになる)
Amuro: (If so, then that would be a severe violation or orders.)

キラ
「援護は感謝する。
だが、その真意を…確認したい」
Kira: I appreciate the backup. But I need to hear why you’re really here.

アスラン
「俺は…フリーダムの奪還、
あるいは破壊という命令を本国から受けている」
Athrun: My orders from the PLANTs...are to recapture or otherwise destroy the Freedom.

アスラン
「だが、今、俺はお前と
その友軍に敵対する意志はない」
Athrun: But, as of now, I have no intention of opposing you or your allies.

アスラン
「話が…したい。お前と…」
Athrun: I just...want to talk. You and...

キラ
「アスラン…」
Kira: Athrun...

ブライト
「ラミアス少佐、
今の内にフリーダムを帰艦させ、弾薬の補給を。
あの赤いガンダムもな」
Bright: Captain Ramius, recall the Freedom to your ship and replenish its ammo while you can. I’d recommend the same for the red Gundam as well.

マリュー
「しかし、あのモビルスーツのパイロットは…」
Murrue: But the pilot of that Mobile Suit was...

ブライト
「彼は我々と戦うために来たわけではないようだ。
キラ・ヤマトと話をさせた方がいい」
Bright: He’s made it very apparent he hasn’t come to fight us. It should be fine to let him and Kira Yamato speak.

ブライト
「それで我々に協力するようであれば、
こちらとしても助かる。予断を許さぬ状況下で
少しでも戦力が欲しいのでな」
Bright: If we secure his cooperation, it would be of great help to us. Even a small amount of extra firepower would be in our best interest in a situation where anything could happen.

マリュー
「了解しました」
Murrue: Understood.

マリュー
(そう…連合軍が攻め込んで来るのは時間の問題ね。
戦力は少しでも必要だわ)
Murrue: (That’s true... It’s only a matter of time before the Alliance forces invade. We need all the help we can get.)

Archangel – Solitary Confinement Cell


ディアッカ
「[インベーダー]にテロリスト…
状況は大変そうじゃないか。
こんな所に来る余裕があんのか?」
Dearka: [Invaders] and terrorists too... It’s looking pretty grim out there. You sure you have the time to be coming down here?

ミリアリア
「艦長に命令されたから、来ただけよ」
Miriallia: I only came here because it was the Captain’s order.

ディアッカ
「で、俺に何の用だ?」
Dearka: Oh, then do you have some sort of use for me?

ミリアリア
「まもなく、あたし達は地球軍と戦うことになるわ」
Miriallia: We’ll be engaging Earth forces very shortly.

ディアッカ
「ここは中立のオーブだろ。何でそんな…」
Dearka: But I thought Orb was supposed to be neutral. Why would they...?

ミリアリア
「オーブが地球軍に味方しないからよ。
で、彼らはオーブを制圧するつもりなの」
Miriallia: Because Orb refused to side with the Earth forces. So now, they’re going to take it over.

ディアッカ
「制圧って…」
Dearka: Take it over...?

ミリアリア
「近くに地球軍の艦隊がいるのよ。
もうすぐ、テロ鎮圧のためとか何とか言って、
戦力を送り込んでくる」
Miriallia: There’s an Earth forces fleet nearby. Soon they’ll be sending their army here, in the name of suppressing terrorism or something.

ディアッカ
「そんなんで勝ち目あるのかよ?
お前も戦うってのかよ?」
Dearka: Is there even a chance they could win against that? You aren’t going to fight them too, are you?

ミリアリア
「あたしはアークエンジェルのCIC担当よ。
それに…オーブはあたしの国なんだから」
Miriallia: I’m in charge of the Archangel’s CIC. And besides...Orb is my home.

ディアッカ
「………」
Dearka: ...

ミリアリア
「…艦長は、あなたにバスターで戦って欲しいって」
Miriallia: ...The Captain wants you to fight with the Buster.

ディアッカ
「拒否したら?」
Dearka: And if I refuse?

ミリアリア
「釈放よ」
Miriallia: Then you’re free to go.

ディアッカ
「!」
Dearka: !

ミリアリア
「協力する気がないなら、艦を降りて。
あんたが言った通り、大変な状況だけど…
後は自分で何とかしてね」
Miriallia: If you aren’t going to help, then just get off the ship. It does look grim, just like you said... But we’ll make it through somehow.

ディアッカ
「って、言われたってよ…」
Dearka: Just because you say all that...

ミリアリア
「…こんなことになっちゃって、御免ね。
鍵は開けるから」
Miriallia: ...Sorry that it’s ended up like this. I’ll open the gate for you.

ディアッカ
(このまま俺が逃げても構わないってのか…)
Dearka: (They really don’t care if I run off...?)

ミリアリア
「あと、もう一つ言うことがあるわ。
アスラン・ザラがこの艦に来てるわよ」
Miriallia: And there’s one more thing I have to say. Athrun Zala is coming aboard this ship.

ディアッカ
「!!」
Dearka: !!

Archangel – Hanger


アスラン
「そんな事情だったのか…」
Athrun: So that’s the situation...

キラ
「うん…僕自身、他の世界に行って、色々と見た。
そして、この世界に戻ってきた」
Kira: Yeah... I’ve been to the other worlds myself. I’ve seen a lot. And eventually, found my way back to this one.

アスラン
「だが、この状況は…」
Athrun: But, now...

キラ
「大変だってことはわかってる。
でも、仕方ない。僕もそう思うから」
Kira: I know how bad it looks. But I’m almost positive that there’s no other choice.

キラ
「カガリのお父さんの言う通りだと思うから。
オーブが地球軍側に付けば、その力が利用され、
[プラント]が攻められる」
Kira: Because I believe that what Cagali’s father says is true. If Orb sides with the Earth forces, then they’ll use it to their advantage and have them attack the [PLANTs].

キラ
「ザフト側に付いても同じことだ。
ただ、敵が変わるだけで…」
Kira: And the same thing would happen if they were to side with ZAFT. The only difference would be which one was the enemy...

キラ
「それじゃ、しょうがない。
そんなのはもう嫌なんだ、僕は。
だから…」
Kira: Either way, there’d be no real change for the better. I can’t let it go on like that. And that’s the reason why...

アスラン
「しかし…!」
Athrun: But you...!

キラ
「僕は君の仲間…友達を殺した。
でも、僕は彼を知らない。
殺したかったわけでもない」
Kira: I killed a comrade of yours... A friend. But I never even knew him. And it’s not as if I wanted to kill him.

アスラン
「………」
Athrun: ...

キラ
「君も…トールを殺した。
でも、君も…彼のことを知らない。
殺したかったわけでもないだろう?」
Kira: And you...killed Tolle. But...you never knew him either. You didn’t want to kill him, right?

アスラン
「…俺は…お前を殺そうとした」
Athrun: ...I...I tried to kill you though.

キラ
「僕もさ、アスラン…」
Kira: So did I, Athrun...

アスラン
「!」
Athrun: !

キラ
「戦わないで済む世界なら、いい…
そんな世界にずっといられたのなら…」
Kira: It’d be great if we lived in a world where we never had to fight... If only we could all live in that world forever...

キラ
「でも、戦争はどんどん拡がろうとするばかりで…。
他の世界も似たようなものだった」
Kira: But, conflict continues to spread... The other worlds were just like this too.

アスラン
「そうなのか」
Athrun: So it’s like this elsewhere too.

キラ
「このままじゃ、本当にプラントと地球は
お互いに滅ぼし合うしかなくなるよ。
だから、僕も戦うんだ」
Kira: If it goes on like this, the PLANTs and the Earth will have no choice but to destroy each other. And that’s why I’ve decided to fight.

キラ
「たとえ守るためでも、
もう銃を撃ってしまった僕だから…」
Kira: I only wanted to protect others, but now that I’ve pulled a trigger, it’s too late to go back...

アスラン
「キラ…」
Athrun: Kira...

キラ
「僕と君もまた戦うのかな」
Kira: Will we have to fight each other again?

アスラン
「…この状況じゃ、オーブに勝ち目はない。
わかっているんだろう?」
Athrun: ...In this situation, Orb has no chance of winning. You know that, don’t you?

キラ
「でも、勝ち目がないから戦うのを止めて、
言いなりになるって…
そんなこと、出来ないでしょ」
Kira: Even so, just because the odds are against us doesn’t mean we can give up fighting and just let them do whatever they want to us, now does it?

キラ
「大切なのは何のために戦うかで…。
だから、僕も行くんだ」
Kira: The important thing is to know what we’re fighting for... That’s why I’m going out there.

キラ
「本当は戦いたくなんてないけど…
戦わなきゃ、守れないものもあるから」
Kira: Of course, I’d rather not fight if I can help it... But there are some things you can’t protect without fighting.

アスラン
「………」
Athrun: ...

キラ
「じゃあ、僕はフリーダムに戻るよ。
ありがとう、話せて嬉しかった」
Kira: Well, I’m heading back to the Freedom. Thank you, Athrun. I’m glad I had this chance to talk to you.

(Kira leaves.)

アスラン
「何のために戦うか、か…」
Athrun: What we’re fighting for, huh...

(Dearka approaches.)

ディアッカ
「よう、アスラン」
Dearka: Hey there, Athrun.

アスラン
「ディアッカ…!?」
Athrun: Dearka...!?

ディアッカ
「お前、フリーダムの奪還命令を受けてんだろ?」
Dearka: You’ve got orders to take back the Freedom, right?

アスラン
「…ああ」
Athrun: ...Yeah.

ディアッカ
「やっぱ、まずいんだろうな。
俺達ザフトが介入しちゃよ」
Dearka: This isn’t going to end very well. Us ZAFT soldiers intervening like this, I mean.

アスラン
「だが、俺はあいつ…
あいつらをここで死なせたくない」
Athrun: Still, I don’t want him... I don’t want any of them to die.

ディアッカ
「珍しく…てか、初めて意見が合うじゃないか」
Dearka: Now that is amazing... For the first time, we agree on something.

アスラン
「!」
Athrun: !

Ra Cailum – Bridge


ミサト
「他地区の戦況は?」
Misato: How’s the battle going in the other areas?

トーレス
「依然、オーブ軍とテロリストが交戦中ですが、
制圧された重要施設はありません。
また、地球連合軍側に動きはありません」
Torres: Orb’s forces are still fighting the terrorists, but so far they’ve yet to lose any vital facilities. And the Earth Alliance forces have yet to make their move.

ミサト
「でも、本番はこれからよ。
私達がここに現れた時点で、地球連合軍から
敵と認定されているからね」
Misato: The hard part comes next. Once we show up, the Earth Alliance forces are going to officially consider us their enemy.

渓
「オーブへ来る時も、高空から降下したおかげで
地球連合軍と戦闘せずに済んだし…」
Kei: We didn’t have to fight them while approaching Orb because we descended from high altitude, but...

渓
「インベーダーやテロリストに襲われたオーブを
助けに来ただけだって、言い訳できるんじゃ…」
Kei: We might could just say that we’re only here to save Orb from Invaders and terrorists...

ミサト
「そんなに甘い相手じゃないわ。
それに、この場を凌いでも地球連合軍は
あれこれ理由を付けて、必ずオーブを制圧する」
Misato: I don’t think they’re dumb enough to buy that. Besides, even if they did, the Earth Alliance can just come up with another reason to invade Orb and take it later.

ミサト
「彼らはもう話し合いには応じない。
私達がここを立ち去れば、オーブに抗う術はないわ」
Misato: We’re past the point of being able to speak with them. And once we leave here, Orb will have no means to stand against them.

渓
「じゃあ、どうやったって
最終的に勝ち目はないってこと…!?」
Kei: Then, no matter what we do, there’s absolutely no chance to win in the end...!?

ミサト
「そう。だから、どうしても
守らなければならない物は何か…
その見極めが必要よ」
Misato: That’s right. The most we can do now is save what we can... We just need to figure out what it is we actually can save.

実
「そんな…」
Kei: You’re kidding...

ミサト
「いくら私達でも、今ここで
オーブの全てを守ることは出来ないわ。
冷たい言い方だけどね」
Misato: There’s no possible way we can protect everything and everyone in Orb, no matter what. Although I know that’s a bit harsh to say, that’s how it is.

トーレス
「艦長、オーブのウズミ代表から
通信が入って来ています!」
Torres: Captain, we’ve received a transmission from Representative Uzumi of Orb!

ブライト
「二度目となると、穏やかではない話だろうな。
繋いでくれ」
Bright: Having this conversation a second time won’t make it any easier. Put him through.

ウズミ
「ブライト・ノア大佐、
今から指定するポイントに向かってもらいたい。
その上で、あなた方に頼みたいことがある」
Uzumi: Captain Bright Noa, I would like you to head to this designated point. In addition, there is a request I would make of you.

ブライト
「了解しました。
我々は何をすればいいのでしょう?」
Bright: Understood. And what is it you would like us to do?

ウズミ
「それは…」
Uzumi: Well...

Episode 84
Into the Dawn Skies


(Scene starts on a map screen of Orb’s harbor. The 3 battleships, Kira, and the player’s team are on the map.)

トーレス
「オーブ軍より通達。
モルゲンレーテを襲撃したASの排除を完了。
防衛部隊は補給のため、後退するとのことです」
Torres: Update from the Orb forces. Their Mobile Suits have eliminated the attacking ASes. The defense forces are falling back to resupply.

ブライト
「了解した。ここの防衛は我々が引き継ぐ」
Bright: Understood. Then we’ll take over the defense here.

渓
「次はいよいよ地球連合軍が来る…?」
Kei: Does that mean the Earth Alliance forces are going to be moving in next...?

ミサト
「表向きには私達は第三者だし、
彼らが攻め込んで来る理由は揃っているわね」
Misato: Officially, we’re still considered a third party. They have plenty of pretense to begin their invasion.

渓
「でも、さっきのウズミ代表の話…」
Kei: But, what Representative Uzumi said before...

ミサト
「だから、私達が囮になるのよ。
地球連合軍がここで戦力を集中させたら、
避難中の民間人に被害が出ずに済むわ」
Misato: That’s why we’re being the bait. If the Earth Alliance focuses on us, then the civilians will be able to evacuate safely.

トーレス
「海中に高熱源反応、多数!
インベーダーです!!」
Torres: Multiple high energy readings approaching from the sea! They’re Invaders!

ミサト
「!」
Misato: !

(Several Invaders appear.)

トーレス
「インベーダー群、浮上します!」
Torres: A group of Invaders has emerged from the water!

ミサト
「図ったようなタイミングで…!」
Misato: It’s almost like they timed this...!

弁慶
「出て来る場所もな。
誰かが仕組んでなきゃ、無理な話だ」
Benkei: They showed up at just the right spot too. This wouldn’t be possible for them without someone giving them orders.

隼人
「ああ、早乙女博士の仕業だろうな」
Hayato: Yes, like Dr. Saotome.

龍馬
「あのジジイが何を企んでいようが、
やることは決まってると言ったろう!
行くぞ!」
Ryoma: I told you it doesn’t matter what the old man’s got planned, it doesn’t change what we’re here to do! Let’s go!

ブライト
「各機、インベーダーを掃討しろ!」
Bright: All units, wipe out the Invaders!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

トーレス
「現戦域内の敵機反応は全て…」
Torres: All enemy readings in the combat zone have--

トーレス
「いえ、9時方向に新たなインベーダーが出現!」
Torres: Scratch that, more Invaders approaching from 9 o’clock!

(More Invaders appear.)

キラ
「僕が行きます!」
Kira: I’ll take care of them!

(The Invaders are all destroyed.)

キラ
「!?」
Kira: !?

ミサト
「アークエンジェルが攻撃したの!?」
Misato: Was that attack from the Archangel!?

トーレス
「いえ、違うようです!」
Torres: No, it wasn’t!

(Athrun and Dearka appear in their Gundams.)

キラ
「アスラン!」
Kira: Athrun!

アスラン
「俺達にだって、わかってるさ。
戦ってでも、守らなきゃいけないものが
あることぐらい」
Athrun: Both of us completely understood what you meant. That if there are things in this world you want to protect, sometimes you have to fight for them.

ミリアリア
「あいつ…」
Miriallia: He’s...

ディアッカ
「そっちの指揮下に入るぜ。
背中から撃たないでくれよ」
Dearka: I’ll follow your orders. Just make sure you don’t shoot me in the back.

マリュー
「ありがとう、2人共」
Murrue: Thank you, both of you.

トーレス
「艦長、ウズミ代表から電文です。
ロンド・ベル隊は今からカグヤ島へ
向かって欲しいとのことです」
Torres: Captain, we’ve received a message from Representative Uzumi. He wants Londo Bell to proceed to Kaguya Island now.

ブライト
「了承したと伝えろ。
各艦にもその旨を伝達してくれ」
Bright: Inform him that we will do just that. Convey the message to the rest of the ships as well.

トーレス
「了解!」
Torres: Sir!

ブライト
(いよいよ最終局面か…)
Bright: (At last, we’ve come to the closing act...)

ミリアリア
「艦長、ラー・カイラムより
カグヤ島のマスドライバーへ向かえと
指示が来ました!」
Miriallia: Captain, the Ra Cailum has instructed us to head towards the Mass Driver on Kaguya Island!

マリュー
「どういうこと…!?」
Murrue: But why there...!?


ザフト艦ブリッジ
ZAFT Battleship – Bridge


クルーゼ
「ある程度見届けたら、カーペンタリアへ帰投する。
パナマからずっと狭い艦内暮らしで
うんざりだろうが…あと少し我慢してくれたまえ」
Creuset: We’ll stay and monitor the situation for a bit longer, after which we will return to Carpentaria. I’m sure you’re restless being confined to this cramped ship ever since Panama...but just make do for a little bit longer.

イザーク
「………」
Yzak: ...

クルーゼ
「面白くなさそうだな、イザーク。
アスランやディアッカがいるなら、自分も
あの中に飛んで行って戦いたいかね?」
Creuset: You seem somewhat distressed, Yzak. Would you prefer to jump into the battle yourself, now that Athrun and Dearka are there?

イザーク
「い、いえ。
自分は異世界の部隊が気になっているだけで…」
Yzak: N-No. I’m just concerned about what the otherworlder forces might be doing there...

クルーゼ
「彼らもタイミング良く舞い戻って来るものだ。
しかも、見慣れぬ戦艦が一隻増えている。
この先も異世界の協力者を増やすつもりなのだろう」
Creuset: Yes, they’ve come back at just the opportune time, haven’t they? And with another new ship no less. It seems they intend to keep bolstering their ranks with otherworld allies form here on.

クルーゼ
「それでこの世界の情勢に介入するつもりなら、
私も協力者との連係を密にせねばな」
Creuset: And if they are going to continue meddling in the affairs of our world, it only stands to reason that we seek allies of our own.

イザーク
「協力者…もしや、ガウルンのことですか」
Yzak: Allies... You mean people like that Gauron guy?

クルーゼ
「正確には、その雇い主だな。
彼もロンド・ベル隊を注視しているようだ」
Creuset: His employer, to be more specific. That individual seems to be keeping a close watch on Londo Bell.

イザーク
「ロンド・ベル…その名は、
フレイ・アルスターから聞いたのですか?」
Yzak: Londo Bell... Did you hear that name from Flay Alistar?

クルーゼ
「ああ、そうだ」
Creuset: Yes, that’s right.

イザーク
「何なんですか、あの女は。
捕虜であるなら、そのように扱われるべきだと」
Yzak: What’s the deal with that woman? If she’s a prisoner, then shouldn’t she be treated like one?

クルーゼ
「フッ…
イザーク、銃を撃ち合うばかりが
戦争ではないのだよ」
Creuset: Hmph... There’s more to fighting a war than merely shooting guns at each other, Yzak.

イザーク
「は?」
Yzak: Huh?

クルーゼ
「私は鍵を探していた。
そして、拾ったのだよ、おそらくな」
Creuset: Let’s just say I’m looking for a key. And now, I’ve found it. At least I hope so.

イザーク

Yzak: ...

マリュー
「我々にオーブから脱出せよと仰るのですか!?」
Murrue: Are you telling us to flee form Orb!?

ウズミ
「ブライト・ノア大佐にも既に理解していただいた。
あなたにも、もうおわかりであろう。
オーブが失われるのは、もはや時間の問題だ」
Uzumi: Captain Bright has already realized, as I’m sure you have as well, that Orb has already lost. It’s only a matter of time before it falls.

カガリ
「お、お父様、何を…!?」
Cagali: Wh-What are you saying, father...!?

ウズミ
「人々は避難した。支援の手もある。
後の責めは、我らが負う」
Uzumi: Our people have been evacuated and will be taken care of elsewhere. The responsibility for what’s left is ours to bear.

カガリ
「!」
Cagali: !

ウズミ
「が、たとえオーブを失っても、
失ってはならぬ物があろう」
Uzumi: But even if we must lose Orb, there are some things we must never give up.

ウズミ
「地球軍の背後には、[ブルーコスモス]の盟主、
ムルタ・アズラエルの姿があると思われる」
Uzumi: I believe the Earth forces current actions are being guided by the leader of [Blue Cosmos], Muruta Azrael.

ウズミ
「そして、プラントも今や
[コーディネイター]こそが新たな主とする
パトリック・ザラの手の内だ」
Uzumi: And Patrick Zala, a [Coordinator], now has the PLANTs within his hands as their new leader.

ウズミ
「このまま進めば、世界はやがて
認めぬ者同士が際限なく争うことになろう」
Uzumi: The way things are going now, the world will be trapped in a war between two forces that refuse to accept the existence of the other.

マリュー
「………」
Murrue: ...

ウズミ
「そんな物で良いのか、君達の未来は?
別の未来を知る者なら、別の世界の可能性を見た者なら
今ここにある小さな灯を抱いて、先へ進め」
Uzumi: Is this the future you want to see? If you desire a different world, take this small light of hope that we have kindled and use it to set a course for a new future.

ウズミ
「またも過酷な道だが、わかってもらえような、
マリュー・ラミアス」
Uzumi: It means taking a hard road yet again, but I’m sure you understand why it’s necessary, Murrue Ramius.

マリュー
「…小さくとも強い灯は消えぬと、
私達も信じております」
Murrue: ...That light may be small, but it burns brightly. We have faith in it as well.

ウズミ
「では、君達は宇宙へ上がれ。
そして、いずれはこの世界だけでなく、
他の世界にも平穏をもたらしてくれ」
Uzumi: Then that is why you should head up into space. And bring peace to not only this world, but others as well.

マリュー
「わかりました、ウズミ様…」
Murrue: Of course, Representative Uzumi...


(Scene changes to an office.)


アズラエル
「一応、彼らの介入は想定していましたが…
やはり、一筋縄ではいきませんねえ」
Azrael: It was only natural to believe they’d get involved some way or another... This was never going to be a simple affair.

連合軍士官
「ここで我が方の戦力を投入すべきではないのか?」
Alliance Officer: Is now not the time to make use of our forces?

アズラエル
「僕が用意していた者達の調整が
間に合わなかったこともあって、地球連合軍側の
損失を最低限に抑えるつもりなんです」
Azrael: I’m trying to minimize the losses sustained to the Earth Alliance’s forces, since my boys hadn’t been properly adjusted in time.

連合軍士官
「だが、
彼らはマスドライバー付近に戦力を集結させている」

(Scene changes to a map screen of Kaguya Island. The Ra Cailum, the Archangel, the Ptolemaios, and the Kusanagi, are all on the Mass Driver. The Kusanagi is an Orb ship. Kira, Athrun, and the player’s team are also on the map.)

Cagali: Father, you have to come with us! I’m not leaving you behind!

ウズミ
「何度も言わせるな。早くクサナギに乗れ」
Uzumi: Do not make me say it again. Board the Kusanagi, quickly!

Cagali: But father!

ウズミ
「これを持って行け。
ただし、封を切るのは宇宙に上がった後でな」
Uzumi: Take this with you. But don’t open it until you’ve reached space.

カガリ
「そ、それじゃ、まるで…!」
Cagali: Y-You can’t just...!

ウズミ
「我らには我らの役目、お前にはお前の役目があるのだ」
Uzumi: We must attend to our responsibilities, as you must attend to yours.

カガリ
「でも!」
Cagali: But...!

ウズミ
「想いを継ぐ者なくば、全て終わりぞ!
何故、それがわからん!?」
Uzumi: We’re finished if we have no one left to carry on our hopes! Why can’t you understand that!?

「キサカ、カガリを頼む」
Uzumi: I leave Cagali to you, Kisaka.

Kisaka: Sir.

「各艦の射出準備が完了するまで、
単独飛行が可能な機体は
マスドライバーを防衛しろ」
Bright: All units capable of flying on their own are to defend the Mass Driver until all ships have finished preparations for takeoff.

「…バスターは空中戦向きじゃないからな。
悪いが、この場は頼んだぜ」
Dearka: ...Buster and air combat don’t really go together. Sorry, but I’ll have to sit this one out.

キラ
「うん…」
Kira: Right...

アスラン
「…ザフトのアスラン・ザラ、か。
ラクスにはわかってたんだな」
Athrun: ...”Athrun Zala, soldier of ZAFT”, huh. She knew what would happen all along.

キラ
「アスラン…?」
Kira: Athrun...?

アスラン
「国や軍の命令に従って敵を討つ…
それでいいんだと思っていた。
仕方ないと…」
Athrun: I always thought you were supposed to follow the orders of your nation... And fight the enemy with all your strength. That there was no other way.

アスラン
「それでこんな戦争が一日でも早く終わるならと…
でも、俺達は本当は何とどう戦わなくちゃ
いけなかったんだ?」
Athrun: That it had to be done to end the war quickly... But what is it we should really be fighting against? And how exactly are we supposed to do that?

「アスラン…」
Dearka: Athrun...

「みんなで一緒に探せばいいよ、それもさ。
僕達には心強い仲間がいるんだから…」
Kira: We can search for that answer together. And there are plenty of good friends to help us along the way too.

Dearka: Got that right. They’re a real pain as enemies, but as allies, they more than reliable.

Misato: What’s the Earth Alliance fleet doing?

「まだ動きを見せていません」
Torres: They still aren’t showing any signs of movement.

ミサト
「彼らが私達を…。
少なくともアークエンジェルを
見逃すことはないわ」
Misato: Maybe they aren’t concerned about us... But there’s no way they’d ignore the Archangel at least.

Misato: And if that’s the case...

「3時方向に高熱源反応、多数!
インベーダーです!」
Torres: Multiple high energy readings from 3 o’clock! Invaders!

(Several Invaders appear.)

「各機、マスドライバーに敵を近づけさせるな!」
Bright: All units, prevent the enemies from approaching the Mass Driver!

(Battle 2 begins.)

Uzumi: Captain Bright, the preparations for the Mass Driver are completed.

「わかりました。
各機、直ちに帰艦せよ」
Bright: Understood. All units, return to your ships immediately.

「あなた達も早く戻って!」
Murrue: You two hurry and come back as well!

「まだ敵は来ます。
アークエンジェルが射出されるまで、
マスドライバーを守ります」
Kira: More enemies are on their way. I’ll keep protecting the Mass Driver until the Archangel can take off.

アスラン
「こちらも同じです」
Athrun: The same goes for me.

ムウ
「…フリーダムとジャスティスは
並のモビルスーツじゃない。
ギリギリまで任せて大丈夫だと思うぜ」
Mu: ...The Freedom and the Justice aren’t your average Mobile Suits. I think they’ll manage even with cutting it close.

マリュー
「…わかったわ。
2人共、タイミングを見誤らないでね」
Murrue: ...Very well. Both of you, be mindful of your timing.

キラ
「了解です」
Kira: Roger.

「プトレマイオスの射出準備、完了!」
Chris: Ptolemaios takeoff preparations are finished!

「では、ブライト大佐…
私達は一足先に行って、到達先の安全を確保します」
Sumeragi: Then, Captain Bright... We’ll go on ahead and ensure our destination is safe.

「ああ、頼む」
Bright: Please do.

ウズミ
「プトレマイオスを射出せよ!」
Uzumi: Launch the Ptolemaios!

(The Ptolemaios takes off and leaves the map.)

インベーダーではありません!」
Torres: High energy heat source approaching from 3 o’clock! It’s not an Invader!

(Dr. Saotome appears.)

「ゲッタードラゴン!」
Misato: Getter Dragon!

揃いも揃って逃げ支度とは情けないのう!」
Dr. Saotome: Mwahaha! How deplorable to see the lot of you huddled together as you flee with your tails between your legs!

「やっぱり、あいつが裏で手を引いていたのか!」
Kei: I knew it, he really was the one pulling the strings out there!

(Ryoma appears.)

龍馬
「出て来ると思ってたぜ、ジジイ!」
Ryoma: I figured you’d show up, old man!

ミサト
「今、外に出たら!」
Misato: Wait, if you go outside now--!

龍馬
「真ゲッターなら、単独で大気圏離脱が可能だ!
奴は俺達に任せろ!」
Ryoma: Shin Getter can break through the atmosphere all on its own! Just leave him to us!

早乙女博士
「殊勝な心掛けだ、竜馬!」
Dr. Saotome: Why how very gallant of you, Ryoma!

龍馬
「うるせえ!そこを動くんじゃねえぞ!」
Ryoma: Keep quiet! And while you’re at it, stay right where you are!

(Ryoma rushes over to Dr. Saotome.)

「愚か者め!
ワシの狙いは、お前達ではないわ!」
Dr. Saotome: Imbeciles! You aren’t what I’m here for!

(Several Invaders appear.)

龍馬
「!?」
Ryoma: !?

キラ
「まずい…!」
Kira: This is bad...!

ミサト
「艦長!」
Misato: Captain!

ブライト
「ここで射出を中断するわけにはいかん。
竜馬達に任せる」
Bright: We can’t afford to let the takeoff be interrupted now. We’ll have to let Ryoma and the others handle this.

(The Ra Cailum moves up to the end of the Mass Driver’s runway.)

トーレス
「本艦の射出準備が完了しました!」
Torres: The ship is ready for takeoff!

ブライト
「ウズミ代表…!」
Bright: Representative Uzumi...!

ウズミ
「後は頼む、ブライト大佐。
ラー・カイラムを射出せよ!」
Uzumi: It’s up to you now, Captain Bright. Launch the Ra Cailum!

(The Ra Cailum takes off and leaves the map.)

ウズミ
「続いて、アークエンジェルの射出を!」
Uzumi: Launch the Archangel next!

(The Archangel moves up to the end of the Mass Driver’s runway.)

「もう時間がないわ!
フリーダムとジャスティスは直ちに帰艦を!」
Murrue: We’re out of time! Freedom, Justice, return to the ship immediately!

キラ
「アスラン、クサナギが出るまでは!」
Kira: Athrun, the Kusanagi still isn’t ready to launch!

アスラン
「ああ、わかってる!」
Athrun: Right, I know!

(Athrun and Kira move to fight the Invaders and destroy them.)

「キラ君!」
Murrue: Kira!

キラ
「アークエンジェルは行って下さい!
僕らはクサナギと合流します!」
Kira: Have the Archangel go on ahead! We’ll join up with the Kusanagi!

マリュー
「わ、わかったわ!
必ず、必ずクサナギと一緒に宇宙へ上がるのよ!」
Murrue: A-Alright! But you have to--you HAVE TO—get to space together with the Kusanagi!

キラ
「ええ、わかっています!」
Kira: Yes, we will!

ウズミ
「アークエンジェル、射出!」
Uzumi: Archangel, takeoff!

(The Archangel takes off and leaves the map.)

Ryoma: Old man! I’m not just gonna let you get away with whatever you’re planning!

「ふん、逃げ出す者に用はないわ!」
Dr. Saotome: Hmph, I have no need of cowards who flee for their lives!

「何!?」
Ryoma: What!?

隼人
「もしや、博士の目的は…!?」
Hayato: Then could the Doctor’s objective be...!?

ウズミ
「残るはクサナギだけだな」
Uzumi: Only the Kusanagi remains.

(Cagali is onboard the Kasanagi now.)

Cagali: Father!

「そんな顔をするな、オーブの獅子の娘が」
Uzumi: Stop giving me that look. It doesn’t suit the daughter of the Lion of Orb.

Cagali: But...!

ウズミ
「父とは別れるが、お前は一人ではない」
Uzumi: You’re leaving your father, but you will not be alone.

「えっ!?」
Cagali: Huh!?

ウズミ

Uzumi: I feel very fortunate to have been your father...

Kira: Sorry, it’s up to you from here on! Let’s go, Athrun!

(Kira and Athrun board the Kusanagi.)

Hayato: Now it doesn’t matter if you reach the Mass Driver...! Then was taking it over what you were really after, Doctor!?

「さあ、何のことかわからんな」
Dr. Saotome: Why, I don’t know what you might mean.

「誰だ!?誰に頼まれて、そんなことを!」
Benkei: Who was it!? Who put you up to this!?

早乙女博士
「フフフ、お前達が仲間を追うつもりなら、
見逃してやってもいいのだぞ?」
Dr. Saotome: Hmhmhm, if you want to go after those friends of yours, I wouldn’t mind letting you go this time.

「その答えで充分だ!
てめえにマスドライバーは渡さねえ!」
Ryoma: That’s good enough for me! You’re not getting your hands on the Mass Driver!

ウズミ
「種は飛んだ…これで良い。
オーブも、世界も…奴らのいいようにはさせん」
Uzumi: The seeds have flown... Good. We can’t leave Orb, or this world... In the hands of those bastards!

Hayato: No, this... Was the extent of Representative Uzumi’s resolve...!


(Scene changes to an office.)

「…マスドライバーだけでなく、
モルゲンレーテも自爆した」
Alliance Officer: ...They self-destructed not only the Mass Driver, but Morgenroete as well.

アズラエル
「………」
Azrael: ...

連合軍士官
「最悪の結果だ。
そちらの策は、必要以上に
ウズミ・ナラ・アスハを追い込んだな」
Alliance Officer: This is the worst possible outcome. It is because of your plan driving him into a corner that Uzumi Nara Athha resorted to such desperate measures.

アズラエル
「いずれにせよ、
あの男はそうするつもりだったんでしょうよ。
こうなったら、もう一つのマスドライバー…」
Azrael: He would have done this no matter what happened. All we need now is to acquire another Mass Driver...

アズラエル
「ビクトリアが順調であることを願うばかりですね」
Azrael: I think the one in Victoria will do quite nicely.

Bright: I see. It would appear Dr. Saotome has some sort of involvement with the Earth Alliance... Or rather, the ones puppeteering them from the shadows.

Kei: Why on Earth is he working with people from another world...?

「この世界でインベーダーの増殖を
目論んでいるとしたら、そうした方が効率的だけど…」
Misato: If his goal is to have the Invaders multiply in this world, I suppose that’s an effective way to go about it, but still...
