  1. You both advance down an alleyway near the junkyard, sending Syndicate toughs reeling with forces they couldn't even perceive. The battle with the Syndicate's leader had left the two of you exhausted, but a bunch of nameless, standless mooks like this were still a cakewalk. Funk rolls slowly into the alley on her bike as she attacks with the long-range Stiletto while Aaron advances on the dozen-strong group ahead of her with Mice on Venus sending them flying one-by-one. The group's nerve finally cracked, they intended to be fighting off cops, not a pair of those 'supers' the boss kept going on about. The group hurredly stumbled out of the alleyway away from you and into the police-patrolled streets.

  3. As you both get ready to pursue, a sudden appearance takes you aback; in what seemed like a blink of an eye, what looked like a medium-sized model sailboat had materialized in thin air in front of Mice over Venus. You both pause for a confused moment, having witnessed one of the last things you expected to see today, as a voice came from behind you. "Pair of regular fuckin' heroes, aren't ya?" You turn, seeing a very tall, suit vest-clad man with an oddly angular, angry looking face leaning on his left hand against the alleyway wall, right hand brandishing a telescoping baton. "Was targeting the grieving part of master's orders, or is it just the pets having some sick fun?" The man stood proper, rolling his baton arm before adopting a strong stance in the alleyway entrance. "Cops are crawling all over, but it'd just take a second for Renegade to do it's thing. Give me one good reason We shouldn't put the both of you down right now." Neither of you like your odds in another full-on fight this soon, better to find a slightly more peaceful way out.

  14. Funk gritted her teeth. "Tch, I got a reason for ya right HERE-"
  15.
  16. "WAIT!" MoV grabbed Funk's pipe on the backswing, just barely keeping her from engaging the gangster. Aaron had a bad feeling about the man; he had to have a reason to be so confident to approach the both of them and reveal his stand so early. Judging by his tone, it seemed like he didn't have all the information regarding the situation, so you swallow hard before banking on a speech check. "I dunno who you think we are, but-"
  17.
  18.
  19. Kilroy suddenly holds up a finger. "Hold that thought." The small boat swung into view with frightening speed, stopping in between you and the gangster. It stays motionless, sails full of an invisible wind, as a miniature crew files out from the cabin, dressed as old-fashioned pirates with TVs for heads. Ten of them fan out at the bow of the ship, screens staring at you as they power on to a brief show of static before resting on a solid white color. Kilroy points at you with a finger gun.
  20.
  21. Cautiously, you continue. "...but the city has footage of Stanton leading Andre to his death! If it wasn't us, they would have sent more; the city needs justice for what happened to Mr. Tiffani!" As you speak, the synchronized screens of the crew slowly change from white into a reddish hue.
  22.
  23. Kilroy's brow furrows as he rubs his stubbled chin. "...now that don't make sense..." You find it odd that he's taking your word so quickly, and even odder that he seems so confused by it, visibly pondering while shaking his head. You get the feeling that you aren't dealing with the smartest the Syndicate has to offer.
  24.
  25. "Look, your scumbag of a boss already pulled some shit when she was a cop, why not cold-blooded murder?" Funk had been slowly putting distance between her and the guest, getting ready to gun it at a moments' notice.
  26.
  27. Kilroy was sent reeling at Funk's question, visibly shaken. "...a cop? I've been..." He gave the miniature crew a hard staredown in disbelief, their screens still a bright red as they shrugged back. He sighed, shoulders going limp ass he scratched his head with the baton as he mumbled to himself. "Well, this is awkward. No way am I about to avenge some crooked cop... Uhh..." Looking at a complete loss, Kilroy turned to leave before suddenly straightening up and snapping his fingers. "That bald asshole, maybe..." As fast as he appeared, the gangster took off down the street, his boat-like stand mooring at his outstreched arm before desummoning.
  28.
  29. You stand in the alley deeply confused as to what just happened.
