  13. With headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, it offers a broad range of hosting options including business and reseller hosting alongside WordPress options, Virtual Private Server (VPS) and dedicated servers. It is also a major domain name player. The company has a strong global presence and a major leaning towards localization. It was in the news earlier this week for launching a new professional email service in India. Its acquisition of Sellbrite will make it easier for GoDaddy’s small business customers to “launch cross-marketplace tools” where they can offer their products and services.

  15. Sellbrite, which has headquarters in Pasadena, California, United States, was established in 2013. The company’s cloud-based, channel management platform allows brands and retailers to “list and sell products effortlessly across multiple online sales channels” using a control panel that manages inventory and orders. Sellbrite’s “simple, intuitive interface” offers tools that automate listing and prevent overselling. It gives users access to Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, Shopify, BigCommerce, ShipStation, and a range of other platforms. GoDaddy’s acquisition is parallel with the launch of ‘GoDaddy Marketplaces’ which will be powered by Sellbrite. Financial aspects of the deal have yet to be released.

  17. The acquisition underscores GoDaddy's ecommerce strategy and helps customers “sell everywhere and sell anything -- physical products, digital goods and services”. Sellbrite will remain independent and continue to cater for customers beyond just those using Godaddy’s ‘GoCentral Online Store’. Sellers can utilize up to three marketplaces and process up to 50 orders a month free of charge. An ‘at cost’ upgraded version of the solution is also available. "Beyond their own website, entrepreneurs are looking to sell on places like Amazon, eBay, and Etsy to be successful," explained GoDaddy’s Vice President of Products, eCommerce and Customer Engagement, Mr. Greg Goldfarb. "Each marketplace works differently for sellers and it can be a daunting task to get up and running and a huge pain to stay on top of orders and inventory once sales start flowing."
  18.
  19. "Helping small brands and retailers succeed on online marketplaces has been our focus from day one," added Brian Nolan, Sellbrites co-founder and CEO. "Like us, GoDaddy puts customers at the center of everything they do and takes great pride in helping them succeed. Working closely with GoDaddy has reinforced that we share a common vision and worldview. We're incredibly excited about the potential this unlocks in the years to come, and we can't wait to get started on the next chapter."
