- Dear Student Union,
- My name is XXXX and I am a fourth year Biological Sciences student. The purpose of my email is to find out about 1) the stance of the Student Union on the COVID-19 measures that NTU have implemented and 2) whether the Student Union is aware of how things are working out on the ground.
- I have forwarded my email to the President's office detailing why the COVID-19 measures are counter intuitive and ineffective. But the summary is:
- • Pushing most lectures online results in students having to camp in common areas to attend their online classes, because they have a mix of both online and physical classes in a single day
- o Both North and South spine area (including common areas near the carpark) are overly crowded with students looking for a place to attend their online lessons, which defeats the purpose of online lectures.
- • The "No standing" rule on campus buses are ridiculous considering students crowd and cramp themselves in public transport for hours to get to campus. And the capacity of campus buses are reduced to the point that it affects efficiency.
- o Some other students have pointed out that apparently only campus rider buses enforce the no standing rule, but campus red and blue are still "packed as ever"
- Thank you.
- Yours faithfully,
- XXXXX
