- >if there was one thing you enjoyed in your spare time, when not with Twilight, it was playing the occasional game or two
- >having a simple hand held device was perfect for the small moments of recreation
- >it wasn't as though you kept it a secret, openly playing when Twilight was reading but being sure to keep the volume down
- >though, the purple princess could only keep her curiosity at bay for so long
- >after failing to capture yet another critter to fight alongside you, your face must have given away your slight frustration
- >Twilight quietly put her book down and walked over, glancing at the foreign device in your hands
- >”What is it?”
- >her voice carries the air of her interest, staring at he back of the portable gaming device but moving her head in various directions
- >your answer is simple, telling her it's a game you're playing
- >”What kind of game? How do you play?”
- >her curiosity seems to be growing the more you let on and indulge her thirst for knowledge
- >you glance up from the small screen to see her tilting her head to the side, not entirely sure you're telling the truth
- >there's a moment of silence between you two before her magic carefully pulls the device from your hands and turns it around to face her
- >her eyes dart around various parts of the machine and tilt it one way and then another, clearly not understanding it much
- >before you can explain, her ears perk up as she lets out a small, “Oh!” and tilts it upright, looking long and hard at the screen you were just viewing
- >her head moves closer towards it, leaving her purple nose just a fraction of space between her and it
- >”What's going on in it?”
- >you start by explaining how you need to capture creatures and have them fight alongside you, making their levels and abilities raise as you do so
- >of course, you also word it as not to offend or scare the pony that's interested
- >the explanation seems to be a tad more than what she wanted, making a face and pushing the item away from her
- >”I don't like you controlling them in such a manner..”
- >she certainly sounds unsure and her face looks a bit upset at the new idea
- >you calmly rationalize with her, letting her know it's all fantasy and make-believe, petting her mane and lightly rubbing at her ears
- >”But, you're still controlling and using these creatures and others in this..other world..”
- >again, you try to tell her it's not real and place your hand to her cheek, letting her know you wouldn't do this if it were real
- >thankfully, the curious princess shows signs of believing that statement and gives a slow nod, though there's a hint of doubt in her eyes
- >a small idea occurs and you pull the gaming device back, offering to show her it's merely a game and nothing more serious
- >Twilight seems utterly delighted to have you show her how something works, quickly hopping up into the chair with you and practically scampering around behind you
- >you can feel her hooves along your back as she climbs up and rests her forelegs on your shoulders, placing her head atop your own
- >her eyes stare down in wonder at the item in your hands as you start playing once again
- >every so often, you feel her head tilt from one direction to another as you continue on your fantasy journey within the game
- >a few battles in and she makes a light grunt before pulling away from your back and moving to nose herself up under your arm
- >now with a closer view, her head and horn slowly start moving into your view, making it hard to focus
- >it's a bit too adorable to be anywhere near annoyed, though
- >when your hands move, her head follows with it, leaning and shifting to keep seeing what's going on
- >it's after a few more minutes that she finally decides to speak up
- >”I..guess it's not..entirely real.. Maybe..but I don't see the proof of it being fantasy”
- >with how she can wield magic, you realize she has a point
- >contemplating a few other ideas, you finally tell her to watch what else you can do and promptly turn the device off
- >”Where did they go?!”
- >her voice is full of panic as she stand up, muscling your arm out of the way and prying the item from your hands
- >the device tilts and shakes, her eyes filled with worry as she glances between it and you, nearly unable to believe you just ceased an entire world's existence
- >your own panic sets in before you reach over to turn it on and let the title screen pop up with the Start and Options menus
- >there's a tense moment of silence before Twilight lets out a sigh and tilts her ears
- >”Okay.. I think I can understand it a bit better..”
- >she moves the electronic to you before raising a brow
- >”Don't let Fluttershy know about this..game. Okay?”
- >you agree and apologize for worrying her, which she takes to heart and thanks you
- >now able to game a little more, you lean back into the chair and begin once again
- >out of the corner of your eye, you can still see Twilight glance up from her books, giving a very curious gaze at the electronic and biting her lip
- >her thirst for knowledge, or maybe just eager to try the device herself, seems like it won't be going away anytime soon
