  1. from /hhg/ - Hazbin Hotel General Thread #225
  2. ---
  3. Unsaved Gospel story from two threads ago:
  4.
  5. >peaceful day at the Hotel (for once)
  6. >Alastor is busy with his radio show, Sir Pent, Baxter and Doc are busying themselves in the lab, and most of the other anons are either running errands or fixing up the upper levels of the Hotel
  7. >Charlie's out on a meeting with her parents, Husk is talking with his grandson, along with the still living anons, John, Jugger and Bronson, and Sting and Angel had hit the town, making another attempt at the "Fear and Loathing" challenge
  8. >Gospel finishes a piece of writing, and leaves his study besides the chapel
  9. >finds Cherri and Vaggie in one of the repaired lounges... Doing each others' hair
  10. >apparently, Niffty had braided Cherri's hair, earlier, and the bomb-lobbing blonde now wants to do the same with her step-sister
  11. >after watching them for a bit, Gospel announces his presence with a cough
  12. >the two girls look up, momentarily embarrassed, but their father just smiles, sitting down next to them
  13. >he finds it a bit odd that Cherri would be friends with the old-fashioned and much older Niffty, but after he found out that she's dating Sir Pentious, he's not at all surprised
  14. >he even chuckles at the fact that her daughter is essentially treating the smaller woman as a "little" sister
  15. >noticing that Vaggie's new 'do looks a bit rough, he offers to help them - after all, he had often helped his own female siblings, and his wife...
  16. >...he stops at that, going momentarily silent
  17. >his daughters exchange glances, both putting a hand on him out of sympathy - they have little for the woman he remembers
  18. >finally, Gospel seems to smile again, hugging them both
  19. >he then unties the rough braids, and begins to show Cherri how to do it properly
  20.
  21. Cont.
  22. -
  23. >once done, they show a mirror to Vaggie
  24. >it looks great!
  25. >...however, with her hair pulled back like that, the large, glowing 'X' that occupies the dark spot where her right eye should be is now prominently out in the open
  26. >crestfallen, Vaggie tries to hide it, pulling on her hair... Only for Cherri to grab her hands, and pull her into a tight hug, pressing her face against the side of her with the 'X' on it
  27. >followed closely by Gospel, who hugs both of them
  28. >after a few moments of silence, Vaggie gives a wry smile, tearing up a bit, before hugging both of them back
  29. >they stay like that for a while, and once they're done, and have untangled themselves from each other, Gospel asks if they have any plans for the day
  30. >in turn, his daughters look at each other and nod, and, with Cherri grinning and Vaggie leading the way, they bolt down the hallway, returning a few minutes later with a box
  31. >opening it, Gospel raises a now-visible eyebrow, looking up to his grinning/smirking daughters, and then down at his gift, before, with a wry smile, he chuckles
  32.
  33. >the other anons and staff come back to find Gospel, fenced by his daughters, reading the Lord's Prayer with his best Elvis impression, wearing a convincing pompadour wig and a pair of dark, reflective aviators
  34. >they chuckle at his performance, especially when he hams it up with some of the more visual descriptions, and he laughs with them once he's done
  35. >he rarely wears the wig afterwards, but the aviators become a part of his whole attire - especially when he's out with his daughters during the day
  36. >he doesn't wear it at night, or indoors, because he isn't a ponce
  37.
  38.
  39. That's it.
  40. A bit of a shorter story, because I have work to do.
