3D Zelda Challenge FAQ

What does the 3D Zelda Challenge involve?
- Completing Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword in under 18 hours.


When will you attempt this challenge?
- Some time in May. I don't know the specifics right now.


What versions will you be playing?


OoT on N64-J
- God’s intended console
- English text is painfully slow
- VC has a faster route but I’d rather not spend a lot of time on this because of diminishing returns


MM on VC-J
- English doesn’t have early hookshot or power crouch stabbing
- N64 has some major issues with pause lag, controller mapping, and crashing
- 1.1 is actually better than 1.0 surprisingly


TWWHD on WiiU-J
- Faster than GC due to skippable intro, shorter triforce quest, and item slides
- Japanese text is way slower but I don’t want to buy an english console


TP on GCN-PAL
- I got good
- German saves 6 seconds


SS on Wii-J
- English has a 7 minute time save in ancient cistern, but loses ~20 minutes from text


What are your goal times for each game?
- OoT should only take 30 minutes. MM under 2 hours, TWW and TP both under 4:30, and SS under 6 hours. This gives me 30 minutes for switching games and being bad.
