- Fire Emblem Fates skills tierlist
- S Tier:
- Movement + 1: Movement is the best stat in Fire Emblem. Its only real drawback is coming from the awful Outlaw class.
- Defender: Gives extra stats for something you want to do anyway. Paladin is also the best class in the game, which makes this even better.
- Sol: This skill is the best way to beat almost any map. This combined with a hand axe or a javelin can allow someone like Charlote anyone to solo almost every map in the game.
- Astra: Multiplying damage by 5 is already really strong, but every single hit can also crit. This skill can kill even the most defensive enemies easily.
- Dragon Hax: This skill is the only way to defeat Takumi without Corrin. Use this on him and then use Charlote with a Brave Sword to one round him easiyl.
- Repliate: Doubling strong units or your healers like Ellise is just way too stong. Double the units can allow you to kill almost anyone.
- Profitter: In a game like Fire Emblem Conquest where you have almost no money, this is a GODSENT. it is basically necessary to not run out of money in that game. In a game like Birthright and Revelation where money isnt as tight it is less useful but it still allows you to buy more items like brave weapons, stat boosters, Eternal seals, or physic staves.
- Hoshidan Trust: This can make skills like Sol, Luna, Astra, and ESPECIALLY lethality way better. You should spread this out on all your units to make them as strong as possible.
- Counter: There is a reason why every enemy archer has this skill as it allows them to finally contribute on enemy phase. You can also put it on your other units to turn the enemies own stats against them. Couple it with Sol and Miracle and you are an invincible murder machine.
- Rend Heaven & Luna: These skills are perfect for when you want to deal more damage. They can kill everything easily when you use them.
- Trample, Axefere and Lancefere: Extra damage for free when using the best weapon types in the game is just too strong. Combine it with a Hand Axe or Javelin to become an enemy phase god.
- Life and Death: More damage is very good already, and taking more damage is almost not an issue. Couple this with other strong skills like Vantage, Vengeance, or Sol to become an invincible god.
- A Tier:
- Indoor Fighter: Standing a bulky unit on a fortress tile is one of the best ways to beat the game. This skill is extremely strong for making you stronger when doing just that.
- Draconic Fang: Read Luna and Rend Heaven, but this is a slightly weaker version. It is the best way to kill Takumi, but that is all it is good for.
- Dracon Shield: This skill transforms almost all your units into invincible gods when used. Hoshido Prince is Corrins best class anyway because it has high strength but this is a very good bonus. The only reason this is not S tier is that Corrin has bad movement making it hard to use.
- Future Sight: Multiplying your exp gain in a game where exp is limited is just extremely strong. Its only flaw is that it is useless when you are at level cap, but you can easily fix that with an Eternal seal.
- Warry Fighter: Getting doubled is very bad for someone liek Effie or Benny, but this skill solves that issue. If this wasnt a skill for Generals only it would easily be S tier
- The good Seal skills: Weaker versions of Dracon Hex but they are still very strong when you use them.
- Pavise/Aegis: Let you become an immortal god on the battlefield as almost nothing gets through that half damage.
- Miracle: Strong Synergy with Counter, Vantage, and/or Sol to create another almost immortal unit.
- Countermagic: Same as counter except worse because there aren't any dangerous mages.
- Dead Blow: The main contributor in making crit builds. While it is player phase only it at least makes you a delete button.
- Vengence: An incredible skill for when you want your Sorcerer to deal just a little bit of extra damage. Also pairs excellently with Life and Death and/or Vantage.
- Demoselle: Men are just stronger in this game with Corrin, Xander and Leo all being top combat units. The only reason to deploy Felicia after chapter 10.
- Lethality: With Hoshidan Trust, this becomes a version of Dead Blow that isn't player phase only. Especially in Conquest enemies are very hard to kill, so this is very useful.
- Gamble: The hit loss stops mattering once you approach 100 crit as crits always hit. At that point this becomes an extrenely valuable tool.
- Breakers: The main reason dodgetanking is real in this game as you can equip these to become unhittable.
- Lifetaker: Combine it with Nosferatu and Vengeance or Vantage and Sol to become immortal. It's this low only because other methods like Pavise are just better.
- B Tier:
- Nohrian Unity: Doubles your skill slots. Nohr Prince is worse than Hoshido Prince, which is the only reason this isn't higher.
- Tomefere: 5 damage is always good, but magic kind of sucks in Fates and this is not available enough to help out.
- The good rallys: Free stats are always good, but they just come too late to plan a build around them.
- Blow skills: Player phase is way less important than enemy phase, which meabs the incredible boosts from these go to waste.
- Poison Skills: The best way to deal with strong defensive enemies such as Generals and Berserkers. They can't kill, which is their only downside.
- Golemfere: Almost necessary to beat chapter 21.
- Defense + 2: Allows taking on more enemies which is great.
- C Tier:
- Swordfere: Again, 5 damage are 5 damage, but swords kind of suck in this game and anyone except Corrin and Ryoma wants to stop using them asap.
- Vantage: With Wrath not in this game, Vantage lost its best combination which makes this almost worthless
- Noble Line: With Future Sight existing, this one just stops mattering as they don't stack and this is the lower boost.
- Good Luck: Restoring HP every turn is very good. Unfortunately it comes from a bad classline and never gives enough HP
- Duelists Blow: Ubfortunately works on the wrong phase as dodgetanking is supposed to be done on enemy phase
- Strength Magic + 2: Free stats are always good but the boost from them is too minor to be worth it
- Strong Riposte: See above. The boost is just too minor to be worth it
- Gentilhome: Only good for Camilla as men are just stronger.
- Quixotic: While it improves strong skills like Sol or Lethality, it also reduces avoid which makes it much less useful.
- Air Superiority: Only really useful against the few dangerous Falcon Knights in chapter 24.
- Spendtrift: If it only gave 10 damage it would be very good but there is just not enough money in conquest. Might be okay in a less strict economy like Revelations or Birthright
- D Tier skills are just too nieche to be worthwhile. For example, Lucky 7 is just not useful long enough as 7 turns is nowhere near enough to beat maps. Elbow Room does not work on terrain and. Tomebreaker would be good if tome enemies were actually scary.
- F tier skills are never useful and come from awful classes. Kitsune is an awful class and Sniper is as always terrible and you want to escape immediately.
- Lunge: Makes Wyvern way worse as it is just never useful and wastes a skill slot.
