  1. REPORT on 72 FILE: "0011T 062409 0728" Time stamp: 4:00:00 - 5:00:00
  2. SYNOPSIS: Mole mostly talks with a video archivist. He is responsible for sending video files and feeds from the server to locations world-wide when they are requested. Based on voice he may also be James Earl Jones. James sounds like a good guy, focussed on the work. Mole asks about what he can do if the video footage is used in a biased way. James says that "we shouldn't have to [worry]", meaning he thinks well of his co-workers. He tells a story about how he had to try and blur some faces that in the context they were used it was not right to leave them unblurred, but it was too late and the footage went out anyway. Sounds like just pressure and speed, no ill intention.
  3. JUICY: Producer requests audio sound bite from Iranian woman that called in via satellite during the Arab Spring Riots. Producer mimics and mocks the young woman. I found the footage elsewhere on the internet. This producer is an asshole. The young Iranian woman is one of their "i-reporters" and is placing her self in grave danger to make this report. She sounds more brave than the rest of CNN put together. Note that the call takes place two days after the rather famous killing of a similarly aged Iranian woman. This combined with the footage of Anderson Cooper accepting an award for the totality of the Arab Spring reporting makes for an ugly reveal of how they really feel about their sources and endangered reporters. The reporter that took the interview with the "i-reporter" is Ivan Watson. Is is still active, is on twitter, and it would be nice to have him comment on the lack of respect the "backroom" shows to his sources. I may be wrong, but I would expect a war correspondent like Ivan would be super-pissed at hearing that his sources were being mocked.
  4. The materials referenced; Making fun of iranian woman. - http://veritaslive.com/02-23-2017/project-veritas-releases-over-100-hours-of-audio-from-inside-cnn.html FILE: "0011T 062409 0728" Time stamp: 4:20:45 "The crying girl" from Iran. 5. they are discussing whether to write US DOD or US Department of Defense in a text overlay on a video they are producing. They are concerned with the size of the text, and they choose to not use an image of the white house because we are "sending it out internationally"
  6. They are getting a video feed and sending it to india. It's coming from the London bureau and then on to Delhi.
  7. they are discussing where they can watch the video feeds and how it works.
  8. verbally discussing if they guy they have a photo of is the guy who was shot, and then do we know who shot him? No gotta check the wire.
  9. they are complaining about the slow computers - is it the oasis delay?
  10. they have the suspect in custody.
  11. the oasis delay makes it hard to use. they tech promises that it is going to be fixed.
  12. [so hard to hear... three things going on at once, sending video from London to india, IT working on computers, and a photo of a guy that was shot. might be the India footage? I don't know.]
  13. 4:07:10 could be of value - black guy with super deep voice talking about how the affiliates know what info is available. the system has a name. would be interesting to know how that content is presented. "footage of water flowing down the road" no agenda discussed as far as I can tell which is the point of the excerrice...
  14. woman (the mole?) asks - hpw do you make sure the newsroom covers all the stories fairly? can you do that down here.
  15. james earl jones - theoretically we shouldn't have to do it. .... lots of hard to understnad .. tells a story about footage of prostitues in china, they normally blur faces, can they say they are prositutes. they used them background on an interview with two women who themselves were prostitutes, so the black guy called to make sure that it was ok they were using images of women not the interview subjects un blurred and calling them protitutes - but it went out anyway. [sorry James O'keefe, this guy on the tape is not perfect but his ethics appear to be on the right place]
  16. mole - what if the affiliates only want to cover one side can you force the affiliats to be fair.
  17. james earl jones - you can't force them to be fair. all of us in here are primarily concerned with distribution. those people out there are all concerned with news gathering.
  18. so hard to hear - talking about accuracy and the like.
  19. mole - some of my freinds are not that interested in hard news. the news in Pittsburgh is bad. they just show the shootings
  20. james earl jones - its bad everywhere, local news... the local spend money on helicopters and special technology and they then have to use it so they will cover any story fron the air to show off their stories. dont get me started on local news. ask other guy about local news = he loves it
  21. mole - local news?
  22. Other guy - i was in local news in tampa, Atlanta and orlando.
  23. james earl jones - look we are still watching a helicopter shot
  24. 4:15:00
  25. they are editing something about the us marshals service, trying to take out any bad sounds and make it clear. something in san diego.
  26. james earl jones taking a phone call on some footage someone wants.
  27. 4:20
  28. some white guy steps in with an assignment: becuase there are two of you guys can I give you, Ivan Watson did a beeper online with a girl calling from iran. "the crying girl" someone just called asking for that emotional part where she is [imitates exaggerated crying]
  29. [this clip shows that they are insensistive to the suffering of the people they report on]
  30. GOT IT! http://www.cnn.com/blogarchive/insidethemiddleeast.blogs.cnn.com/2009/06/24/ireport-iranian-woman-shares-her-protest-experiences/ See the date matches the file name... 062409!
  31. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx1Zk3ZHmyI
  32. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdG-QusHDro&t=122s
  33. 4:21:00 james earl jones - we are looking for it right now.
  34. 4:24:37 female mole leaves the video footage bay "thanks" - james earl jones says he will be looking for the footage they requested and it will be credited to CNN.
  35. 4:27:00 some girl checks in on our girl mole - apparently mole has on a cute dress - im an intern.
  36. 4:31:41 mole: so basically they just saw it on TV and said "we want that"
  37. 4:33:30 - hard to hear, discussing what footage to use, might be something in there but I can't hear it. Her device is in her purse and she left it too far from the conversation.
  38. 4:37:00 and editor or producer is happy to find out that they didn't get the name of someone they interviewed because then "we don't have to worry about putting voice of so and so" sloppy and lazy.
  39. Uhoh! Mole gave her name! I'll leave it out.
  40. IT guy I think is talking about video storage approach.
  41. Mole: do you have a deadline on the work you are doing now?
  42. James Earl Jones: I have until 1 eastern - it takes time to get the material back and forth
  43. 4:41:00 - someone calls someone else a "homophobe" - maybe joking around? James Earl Jones I think is the only guy actually working everyone else is a worthless fuck off. I think they are comparing calling someone gay to calling someone the n word? One of the speakers says; "I have no respect, it's like 'I have nothing else to come at you with, I'm just going to call you names'"" this is the background dialogue, so hard to hear. Probably an interesting conversation but too hard to hear. Talking about how, I can call myself insulting things but you can't (either n word of fag, or both, not sure) "I hate my momma, but you can;t talk bad about her." discussing if it's ok to attack people who call you the n word etc...
  44. Discussing how to edit the audio of a woman.
  45. Long discussion - too hard to hear, James Earl Jones might be talking about what and how they choose and use footage, but some audio tech would need to clear this up to hear what he is saying.
  46. 4:55:00 nothing - too far from all audio.
  47. 4:57:00 in bag and walking out of building I think, talking on stairs, lots of rubbing noise.
  48. 5:00:00 some young woman that is walking with MOLE is saying that as an unpaid intern she doesn't care very much. Her vocal fry could cook bacon and eggs.
