So this is now starting to go around the interwebs. Maybe my comment from the previous posting of this video will fit one-to-one with this as it seems it is almost identically the same lenght.  So here we go:

In addition to the areas on the Karelian Isthmus the SU wanted all the outer islands in the gulf of Finland, Kalastajansaarento peninsula, harbour in Hanko and harbour in Lappohja.Finland refused the islands and the harbors but made a counter-offer on the isthmus which SU refused and broke off negotiations. Also the SU had brough the idea of a treaty of mutual assistance which Estonia had signed. After which Estonia was occupied by Soviet troops.

It was also a win! Soviet Union had planned to occupy Finland, overthrow the government and install a puppet government. They failed at that. I guess mr. Ritter has "forgotten" to read about the "Finnish Democratic Republic" which was created by Stalin and was recognized by the SU. The fact that after the Winter War Finland was still the Repulic of Finland and not Finnish Democratic Republic proves that it was a win, a clear win and that Finland did not surrender.

Also it seems mr Ritter is confused about the areas the SU promised to the FDR and the areas it suggested to the RoF. The areas the SU suggested to the RoF contained forest, the areas the FDR would have gotten contained minerals.

So maybe he should go back to the history books and referesh his knowled of "Republic of Finland" and "Finnish Democratic Republic".

He clearly forgets that:
1) Finland stopped at the defensive peremiter of Leningrad and did not advance even though Germany requested it
2) Finnish planes did not bomb Leningrad
3) Finland did not allow Germany to bring troops from Finland to the Leningrad front.
4) No comment that Stalin forbid civillian evacuations.

Soviet Union wanted to make peace has they wanted Germany and Berlin more than Finland. Trying to push further into Finland would have required so many troops and effort that SU would have lost Berlin to the Western Allies.

Also I would like to ask mr Ritter a comment. What is your opinion on that Russia has opened new bases and put new troops on the border of Finland since the year 2000? What do you think about the threat Putin made against former nations of the Empire? How about the Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement? Care to spin that to a positive Russian perspective?
