  1. Two partners, each of them isolated from where the main conflict took place in the bomb room, thought of their respective partners. For Stray, nervousness bearing towards the frantic-in her gut she was positive that Princess Kumo had found herself deeply in distress. For Mist, given his knowledge of his partners acerbic tongue and attitude, he imagined her reducing his unseen foe to tears.
  2.
  3. Technically, both were correct in their assertions.
  4.
  5. -----------
  6.
  7.
  8. "No! I'm not making fun of you! I really really really really mean it! You were super duper stealthy and effective and impressive and you are so cool!" Princess Kumo plaintively begged her opponent, the tiny girl standing on the vampire-styled figures chest. Despite having her foe webbed nearly completely to the ground, only her head given any sort of exposure, it was Princess Kumo who had tears budding at the corner of her eyes.
  9.
  10. "Why are you still mocking me?!" Shade bit back, her teeth gnashing as she leaned forward, trying to bite at the girl. "You caught me already, you can stop at anytime now!" The vampire themed heroine flushed, her pale cheeks going dark as she again fruitlessly struggled against her bonds, glaring at the barefoot pinkette in the pink clothes like she was /such/ a goody two-shoes...
  11.
  12. "And why aren't you wearing shoes? Do you /have/ to be stepping all over me right now?!" It was galling. Every part of this experience was galling. She had lost to a pink floof without barely a moment and now was getting long compliments that clearly were meant to tease her. She growled again, a rumble in the back of her throat.
  13.
  14. "Oh! Well thats cause of my quirk! See?" Princess Kumo stood up again, taking a half step forward-one foot pressed at the center of her chest, the other now hovering over her face, showing her dirt stained foot as now Shade ach and crouched and turned away. "No don't-just get those out of my face!" She ordered, huffing as somehow her humiliation was taken up a notch, and instead Princess Kumo halted a few inches from her.
  15.
  16. "No no no, there, do you see?" A glance revealed what the target was-a little trace, faint honeycomb seams over the heel and ball of her feet. "Thats where my webbing comes from so I need to be able to have my feet free! They gave me shoes but they'd just get in the way, though they were really really really really really pretty shoes and I love them and I'm going to grab them when this is over!"
  17.
  18. Shade just continued to glare, though finally the foot was taken out of her face and she gave a groan. "YOu know thats /why/ costuming asks us our powers." Princess Kumo blinked, tilting her head. "You're supposed to tell them your powers and they make the costumes so they don't interfere. Like, instructions on the suit should let you use your webs."
  19.
  20. Princess Kumo's jaw dropped, and her eyes went wide. "Wait really?!" Shades jaw slammed shut, growling again at the obvious sarcasm, flushing once more as she realized she was lead into being mocked for stating the obvious, and she struggled anew to free herself. "Oh wow! I'll have to go get the shoes back. Oh, but thats after, I need to go get the bomb now!"
  21.
  22. And then Princess Kumo jumped forward, leaping over Shades head and started to prance towards the bomb. Shade gave a growl, and twisted-her left hand able to just move enough that she was able to find the small button against the side of her palm. Speaking of augments costuming can give you...
  23.
  24. A small click, and a bright flash illuminated the room-originating from high on the wall, sending the long shadow of the rocket out over Princess Kumo and Shade, only for the vampire girl to vanish into the shadows once more. She heard Princess Kumo gasp aloud, and then emerged from the shadows behind her pink enemy-arms wrapping around her waist, pinning the small girl against her, and with a hiss her fangs found Princess Kumo's neck.
  25.
  26. She didn't drink the blood, not exactly. Instead she felt her fangs widen as blood was drawn through the incisors and pulled back through channels over the roof of her mouth. Drinking like this was heady-and with the blood never touching her tongue, instead she 'tasted' something delicate and sweet, vibrant energy and a natural rush, almost gulping aloud as she savored the heroine-gasping a bit at the sheer sweet exuberance of flavor.
  27.
  28. DID YOU KNOW THAT?!
  29.
  30. Shade's real name is Lily Blanchard!
  31.
  32. SHade's family has different quirks, but all seem vampiric themed! The family drinks blood, though often the flavors are mixed-as the blood doesn't reach the tongue, the vampire mind filters it with other tastes, like sandalwood or sweets or any other flavor or scent you can name!
  33.
  34. Shades quirk is called Shadowfang! By biting her lower lip she can transform her body into shadow, moving through other shadows at incredible speed and slipping through bindings! If someone turns on light while she's in a shadow though she's forced out, and she can't take others with her unless she's tasting their blood as well!
  35.
  36. Shades favorite food is rare steak, as bloody as it can- oh, wait, no, getting an update. Her favorite food is Princess Kumo!
  37.
  38. NOW YOU KNOW!
  39.
  40. She felt the girl struggle against her, but caught off guard it was easy to keep her grip as Princess Kumo's struggles weakened. So swept up in savoring the sweet flavor that Shade almost missed the buzzing of the alarm. "Contest over. Heroes win."
  41.
  42. Shades eyes went wide, her fangs pulling free and Princess Kumo slumping to the ground with a pleased sounding groan. Where was the other hero?! Did she get around while she was subduing Princess Kumo?! confusion reigned, before finally noting the girls feet-while she had flailed in her grasp, both feet had managed to kick against the bomb, counting it as a victory for the heroes.
  43.
  44. Despite the sweet tasting meal moments before, Shade glared at the offending feet, newly angry all over again before she huffed and whirled away, leaving her opponent and her dopey mocking grin on the ground.
