  1. Ralsei x Anon: Halloween Edition
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5.
  6. In a suburban neighborhood, decorated to the brim with Halloween decorations, a cowboy dressed human and a certain fluffy witch boy are walking down the streets, away from a very, very lively and bustling party, holding bags filled with candy and other treats. It was very late into the night, but they still talked as if they were completely energized.
  7.
  8. "-and then she managed to tear down all of the decorations in the garage! She stumbled around like it was a cartoon!"
  9.
  10. "O-oh, poor Susie…! I would be lying if I didn't find it humorous when she was scared though. I've never seen her like that!" Ralsei giggled alongside his lover, Anon, who laughed up at the night sky as they recalled the eventful Halloween party.
  11.
  12. "Oh god, I know! And she just pointed up to the ceiling screaming 'Vampire! Vampire!', just scurried off all because of some smoke and flashing lights," You chuckle even more, sighing and catching your breath with Ralsei, "God I wish I recorded all that."
  13.
  14. "I'm really glad you didn't to be honest, she wouldn't have let that slide-!" Ralsei warned half-heartedly, that goofy smile still on his face.
  15.
  16. "H-hahah, yeah I know I know, but still would've been nice to keep it, you know for memories sake."
  17.
  18. And maybe lighthearted blackmailing, but chances are she'd tear your house down before you'd ever get the chance.
  19.
  20. The laughter and giggles from the two of you eventually die down, Ralsei now resting his head on your shoulder as he squeezed your hand, walking just a little slower now.
  21.
  22. "Mmm… What do you think of your first ever Halloween, my love?" You ask, planting a quick kiss on his forehead.
  23.
  24. Ralsei's blush grew more apparent at that, but he kept himself composed, "I-it was fun! Really, really fun! I… Honestly was expecting to be… Frightened a lot. But, it was so amazing! And all of this Lightner candy… I haven't even tried some of these!" Ralsei said with glee, going through his bag and seeing all of the candies he couldn't wait to get into.
  25.
  26. "With a sweet tooth like yours? I'm surprised you haven't tried every candy out there already." You tease, sticking your tongue out at Ralsei, adorably pouting in return.
  27.
  28. "H-hey! If anything, you have a bigger sweet tooth than me!" Ralsei pouted playfully. He wasn't wrong after all, you were an absolute sucker for his pastries.
  29.
  30. "Okay you got me there… Can't blame me when I have such a talented boyfriend who makes all these amazing pastries and treats!"
  31.
  32. Ralsei looked down, sheepishly smiling, "Yeah… I suppose I can't blame you… And I thought Susie was the one with the bottomless stomach!"
  33.
  34. You both laugh happily, stopping for a moment, bringing Ralsei in for a tight, loving hug. His arms immediately wrap around your back, looking up at you with an endearing look on his face. Gazing into those beautiful eyes of his… As if you're caught in a trance.
  35.
  36. You may very well have been, since now you have an irresistible urge to kiss him then and there.
  37.
  38. Not like you were going to let the opportunity slip away.
  39.
  40. Slowly, you lean down to kiss him and he immediately returns the favor, letting out a soft squeak of delight when his lips connect with yours. His embrace on you tightening. As if he never wanted to let go.
  41.
  42. Eventually, you both broke the kiss, but held each other for a while longer, noses pressed together. Even under the dark midnight sky, you could see the redness that graced his white furred face.
  43.
  44. So beautiful...
  45.
  46. "I love you, Ralsei~"
  47.
  48. "I love you too… My big strong cowboy~"
  49.
  50. With a soft chuckle, you let go of him and tip your cowboy hat at him with a charming smirk, earning you an adorable giggle and blush from Ralsei. He nuzzles your shoulder again and the two of you continue walking, hand in hand.
  51.
  52. Eventually, you both reach the end of the neighborhood. Across the street, was yet another one, but unlike the other houses across the suburb… This neighborhood had absolutely no decorations to be seen. No lights, no nothing. Even the street lights were far dimmer than everywhere else. Not a single house light was on either.
  53.
  54. But it was the only shortcut to the hotel you two were staying at. Otherwise, another path would probably add another hour to the walk. Maybe even longer, considering how packed this suburb was.
  55.
  56. That was another red flag for you. Nobody was even walking around there. As a matter of fact, you never saw a single person go down here earlier in the day. You and Ralsei sure didn't. You doubt you and him even noticed.
  57.
  58. Ralsei also felt the same uneasiness. He looked up at you, clearly nervous. But you held firm and reassured him.
  59.
  60. "Hey. There's nothing to be nervous of. We'll be just fine and be in bed in no time. Just… Don't let go of my hand, okay sweetheart?" You reassure him with a quick kiss. It seemed to work, if only a little.
  61.
  62. Ralsei nodded and with that, the two of you began to walk down the neighborhood, the sounds of the festival fading away, leaving you and Ralsei to your own noises, along with the sound of the wind and distant crickets.
  63.
  64. You missed the sounds of the party already. Made it feel as if you two weren't truly alone… But now? You could almost hear your own heartbeat.
  65.
  66. It was almost completely empty as well, aside from the occasional car and trash cans. And most of it looked… Run down? Abandoned?
  67.
  68. It just didn't seem right.
  69.
  70. The silence was beginning to be too much for Ralsei, so he suddenly broke it with a question.
  71.
  72. "S-so… What kind of candies did you get hone-"
  73.
  74. A sudden noise brought his question to a halt, making Ralsei freeze up and immediately grip your hand really tight. It almost hurt, but that didn't matter right now.
  75.
  76. What mattered is what the hell that noise was.
  77.
  78. It sounded like something scampering away… But it also sounded like it had claws of some sort. Grinding against the pavement as it ran off.
  79.
  80. Whatever it was.
  81.
  82. "...It's just some raccoons. They're common in… rundown areas like these." You say to Ralsei. He just nods and sticks closer to you. Walking just a bit faster than before. But you can keep up.
  83.
  84. Not like you can blame him. You were a little weirded ou-
  85.
  86. There it is again.
  87.
  88. The scampering. Now it was behind you, moving quickly to the left.
  89.
  90. You turn around quickly, but you don't catch anything. Or anyone.
  91.
  92. But you do hear some odd, forced breathing from somewhere on your left… Just barely. Like, heavy panting mixed with hissing.
  93.
  94. If someone was playing a prank, then they were doing a damn good job. You could feel Ralsei's hand shaking a little bit. Maybe it would've been a good idea to pack some sort of weapon. A knife or something at least.
  95.
  96. Ralsei knew fire magic at least but…
  97.
  98. "A-Anon…"
  99.
  100. You gently rub Ralsei's palm, trying to comfort him. But before you or him could say anything else-
  101.
  102. The hissing sound comes back. Much, much louder and closer, followed by a trash can behind the two of you suddenly and violently being thrown down onto the ground, expelling trash everywhere.
  103.
  104. Behind the lamp post behind the trash cans was some sort of figure, hunched down… a single gleaming crimson eye staring back at you.
  105.
  106. You don't bother trying to get a better glimpse of it. Something told you it would be for the best if you didn't. The moment you make eye contact with that thing, you just run, never letting go of Ralsei's hand for a moment. He tries to hold onto his witch hat as he runs with you.
  107.
  108. You know he's able to keep up in terms of pace, but his stamina is another story. Thankfully, you were both halfway down the block before you finally made it to the end, not pausing for even a moment until you both felt safe.
  109.
  110. A few candies were falling out of your bags, but that was the absolute least of your worries. But after running another half block and turning a corner, you see the bustling streets once more. People still walking around trick-or-treating, cars driving past, the streets all lit up and decorated, music and other sound effects playing.
  111.
  112. As well as the hotel, still open and with plenty of people around.
  113.
  114. Finally.
  115.
  116. You chuckle a bit in relief and hold Ralsei close. His grip on your hand never loosens, but he also has a relieved smile on his face.
  117.
  118. After you both take a moment to catch your breaths, you both make your way across the street, feeling much, much safer.
  119.
  120. As you approach the hotel, you see the security guard outside talking on his walkie, looking around. The security guard then does a quick glance to the two of you and he suddenly steps in front of you.
  121.
  122. "Excuse me sir. Are you okay? You and your friend there look a little shaken up. Is something the matter?"
  123.
  124. You shake your head, "No, thank you. We're all good now. Just had a pretty good prank pulled on us."
  125.
  126. The security guard doesn't buy it and gets a little closer. Not in a threatening manner, but more as if he didn't want anyone else to hear what he said next.
  127.
  128. "You didn't happen to come from that one neighborhood about a block away, did you sir?"
  129.
  130. You look to the side before sighing, nodding your head, "Yeah. Yeah, we did."
  131.
  132. A look of concern grows on the security guard's face, looking over your shoulder and moving a hand to his radio, as if to speak. Before he does though, he ushers the two of you in without another word.
  133.
  134. You and Ralsei find his behavior to be really odd. As you walk into the elevator with him, you see the guard talking into his radio, looking around as he walks away from the entrance.
  135.
  136. "...I really have no idea what the hell that was about."
  137.
  138. "That was… Really odd, Anon. But to be honest, I'm just happy we got out of there."
  139.
  140. You sigh and nod, rubbing your eyes. The exhaustion was really getting to you now…
  141.
  142. "Heh… How fitting that we actually got scared on Halloween, huh? And hey, at least we still have our loot!"
  143.
  144. Ralsei giggles at this, causing you to smile. The tension and nervousness was all but gone. replaced with relief and comfiness.
  145.
  146. "You're really silly, Anon." He smiles cutely, giving you a kiss on the cheek.
  147.
  148. The elevator doors then open and eventually you get to the hotel room, turning on the lights and stretching a bit. Setting your respective candy bags on the bedside table, you take off your cowboy hat and go over to the restroom.
  149.
  150. "I'm gonna go change and freshen up real quick, alright hun?"
  151.
  152. "Okay Honey! Oh and could you get my costume bag from there too please?"
  153.
  154. You give him a smile and a nod before heading into the restroom, leaving Ralsei to himself to change in the bedroom.
  155.
  156.
  157. As he begins to take off his costume, he hears the distant, sudden, muffled sound of sirens.
  158.
  159. He doesn't know why, but he's curious enough to look out the window. He walks towards it and takes in the view of the suburban area and city outskirts, but is unable to catch the sight of any emergency vehicles or lights.
  160.
  161. But… He does see it.
  162.
  163. A creature. No, the creature that was stalking them. A short, but menacing looking thing, spines going down its back, looking like a cross between a bat, a reptile and… Something else entirely.
  164.
  165. It was sitting on its hind legs on top of the roof of a multi story building below them, its red eyes hauntingly visible, but it thankfully was not looking at Ralsei or his general direction. It then turned and leaped away on top of the roofs of the town, back to the suburbs and into the night.
  166.
