I still stand by my opinion that allmuting me was an overreaction, especially considering my past record of civil and calm conduct. But banning me from the forums for questioning the level of reaction and total lack of notification of any kind seems to me to be a reaction that will not help matters any. Renwaldo claims that he represents all of Canada. I, jokingly, say that such a claim is BS. He says to watch my language and adds a smiley face directly after. By doing that, I interpreted that he was joking about watching my language, so I didn't think that he was actually offended and continued with the joke. When he continued to ask me to stop, I thought that he was still joking.

This is the last record nehp's lurker has of me talking in any way. I did not figure out that I had been reported and subsequently allmuted until  March 14th, two days ago. Upon discovery of that fact, I posted my (now removed) thread entitled "Invisible in Chat". At first, I simply thought it was a bug, which is why it was in the Bug Reports section of the forum. Then, I soon discovered that it was likely that Renwaldo had reported me, resulting in an allmute on the reported character.

Following posts were written while I was still angry, both at the total lack of communication from the dev team and, in my opinion, the extreme reaction to a minor offense. Both Mote and Reality says things much, much more offensive on a regular basis, and searching the lurker for offensive words shows that I am not alone in dropping an occasional f-bomb or s-pile.

So why was the reaction to Renwaldo's report so extreme? Why was allmuting me without any sort of notification deemed the appropriate response? I don't deny that the thread may have been inflammatory, and removing it may have been an appropriate response, but I do not think banning me until the 29th of March was warranted. Nor do I believe that allmuting me was an appropriate response to the offense in question, especially given my past record of civil conduct.

It is my opinion that I should be unmuted and my ban should be shortened to a reasonable length - perhaps one or two days.
