- 7.28.2017 22.41.31.16 Overwatch Junkrat notes
- 0:00 - PAUSE see trap and mine placement (mine, being more visible, is just barely on right side of screen next to door to prevent attackers from seeing it)
- 0:12 - Lining up crosshairs with trap
- 0:35 - moving to high ground. This is where I like to stay, and move to the closer ledge when we're winning the fight and pushing forward. Note how I use the trap while in the air so it can reach an area I wouldn't be able to throw to while on the ledge.
- 0:46 - standard trap pick, but worth noting how immediately after getting 3 picks in a row, the entire team moves aggressively to take out the remaining in that group
- 0:55 - importance of voice comms demonstrated with Ana's callout here, but I wasn't able to figure out where reaper had gone
- 0:58 - aiming just a little higher probably would have hit genji
- 1:19 - PAUSE notice the genji's positioning. One of my better plays this game.
- 1:27 - I throw down trap here in case DVa comes back up
- 1:31 - This is the *perfect* spot for junkrat and the payload on this map. You can rebound nades of the rear wall and shoot straight down that corridor.
- 1:39 - PAUSE notice how DVa is getting pressured by hog, this allows me to play very aggressive and close to cut off her escape. Junk is supreme in these narrow corridors.
- 1:48 - perfect example of how scary Zen's burst damage is. 1 headshot = 96 damage, 1 discord headshot = 120 damage, and I'm dead in literally less than a second. Should have waited for mine CD and gone back to high ground.
- 1:53 - PAUSE you can see mercy flying in to rez me lol.
- 1:56 - when squishies are grouped up like that, just do a single nade into mine to maximize potential damage. Notice how I keep on aiming for zen because he has no mobility.
- 2:05 - When you can lead your shots like this you'll have become a true trashmouse main
- 2:08 - PAUSE now this is a weird situation. If I had more game sense and stayed crouched next to the cart and moved left I probably would have lived. Payload blocks reaper's ult!
- 2:23 - using mine from spawn like this saves you around 2-3 seconds of travel time if you can do it twice
- 2:36 - spamming shots vertically like that is more effective IMO because it's much harder for enemies to predict where they are going to land and distracts them if they look up.
- 2:45 - laying trap because genji is coming up top
- 2:49 - Had the zen continued to move forward instead of zigzagging it would have hit, but that's the risk you take for long rage mine throws.
- 2:56 - looks like genji isn't going to come up so I throw trap down to payload
- 3:02 - DVa will kill me in like 1 second with pointblank fire, so I use ult to de-mech her.
- 3:11 - PAUSE here will be an excellent example of the nade-mine combo, and why zen isn't so scary if your mine is off CD
- 3:16 - and here we see the trap from earlier pays off.
- 3:27 - I realize I'm not doing much spamming against orisa shield, so I go left to aim around it
- 3:31 - while no picks here unfortunately, pressuring the zen/mercy into the tunnel is the best choice here
- 3:35 - while genji's deflect did end, you can see I'm not afraid to use the correct timing to detonate mine while he's using it
- 3:38 - massive damage potential when half the enemy team is in that tunnel
- 3:42 - when I'm this close to the payload and I can see there are 2 people on it, I'll ult since it's only travelling for a second in the middle of a fight. And you can see that leaving traps by the payload in team fights is very effective.
- 3:55 - here I have *okay* positioning. My thought is to trap the tunnel, then spam left so I pressure them into my trap. However, I should have used my mine to jump to high ground since they came out of tunnel top.
- 4:22 - here the trap hits, but I'm too far away to capitalize on it. Since I can't effectively hit Orisa, I move into the building to flank.
- 4:33 - unfortunately I overextend too far (probably could have moved on top of building and pressured orisa through rebound shots) and use my mine trying to kill mercy. bad play
- 4:42 - since I'm so close to orisa, I decide to get her with point blank shots while dropping a trap on her escape path.
- 4:46 - while she does escape, I do bring her down a lot (200 damage *with* fortify) and kill her ult, so it's not too bad of a trade since DVA cleans up for me. And that makes the round, with decent medals.
