[08:52] <!Emilybroshoujo> Wine and food is laid out on large tables in the Throne room.
[08:53] <!Emilybroshoujo> Lucia changes into an evening gown and Mesina dons one of Aldeas' tuxedos.
[08:53] <!Emilybroshoujo> "So, why is it we don't have to open a giant portal thingy for this one?"
[08:54] <!Emilybroshoujo> The Demon Queen rules through power so she can't travel to our plane without aid, but the Devil Queen rules through a convoluted sort of politics and doesn't have a great deal of personal power."
[08:54] <!Emilybroshoujo> "In many ways that makes Devil's far scarier." Lucia says as her friend zips up her gown.
[08:55] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Aldeas has decided to play Arciel's game, and is throwing this huge party."
[08:55] <!Emilybroshoujo> "You don't trust it?" Mesina asks.
[08:56] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Of course not, she's diabolical, literally." Lucia says with a pout.
[08:56] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Shall we?" She extends her hand to Mesina who takes it with a grin and walks her down the stairs to the throne room.
[08:59] <!Emilybroshoujo> As the girls enter the room they notice a commotion stirring as the main doors open.
[08:59] <!Emilybroshoujo> Arciel the Devil Queen shows herself as she steps forward.
[08:59] <!Emilybroshoujo> The stunningly curvy woman wears an elegant red evening gown.
[09:00] <!Emilybroshoujo> The backless dress allows room for her black feathered wings to rest closed behind her.
[09:01] <!Emilybroshoujo> The stunningly beautiful devil woman's cherry red lips are curled into a smile and her long crimson hair hangs down, messy and seductive.
[09:02] <!Emilybroshoujo> The high heels and satin gloves she wears add further to her appearance of a sultry high class noblewoman.
[09:03] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Where's the king?" She asks sweetly which instantly causes the other guests to all back away and clear a path between her and Aldeas.
[09:04] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Mmmm~ Hello there." She says as she approaches the boy king.
[09:04] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Hello milady." Aldeas says as he takes her outstretched hand.
[09:05] <!Emilybroshoujo> "I've come on behalf of the Council of the Nine Hells to talk of negotiations with you and the other monster Queens."
[09:06] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Please my lady." Aldeas says immediately. "I've had my advisers purge the spies sent by the other Archdevils already. There is no one monitoring you, feel free to act as you like."
[09:06] <!Emilybroshoujo> Arciel's eyes widen and she smiles.
[09:06] <!Emilybroshoujo> "You cheeky little bastard." She says with a toothy grin.
[09:07] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Alright then, I'll say that none of the archdevil intend on hearing out anything you have to say. However I'm not a shortsighted paranoid fool like the vast majority of the Council."
[09:08] <!Emilybroshoujo> "I know that if you reform the bond with the Angels severed by your foolhearty father the number of humans capable of posing a threat to my rule will skyrocket."
[09:08] <!Emilybroshoujo> Aldeas listens attentively as the devil queen speaks.
[09:10] <!Emilybroshoujo> "I don't like Paladins but I'm not going to make an unreasonable demand like 'Exclude the Archangels from the peace talks.'... instead I'd like your word that you'll make certain Gabriel and her kin do not start another crusade against me as soon as they regain the support of you and your people."
[09:10] <!Emilybroshoujo> "The bond between the Knights of Men and the Angels of Heaven has always been one based on a mutual hatred of Demons and Devils." Aldeas begins.
[09:11] <!Emilybroshoujo> "However I intend to propose a new type of treaty with Gabriel and her sisters. So I can guarantee the Paladin Order will not be reformed."
[09:12] <!Emilybroshoujo> "The kind of mindless self-righteous hatred that the old order represents is counter productive to my ideal."
[09:12] <!Emilybroshoujo> "She's insane you know?" Arciel says with a smirk.
[09:12] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Do you think she'll agree?"
[09:12] <!Emilybroshoujo> "I do." Aldeas replies.
[09:13] <!Emilybroshoujo> Arciel giggles.
[09:14] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Why did you dispatch my pursuers, I feel like it wouldn't have affected the flow of this conversation."
[09:14] <!Emilybroshoujo> Aldeas smiles.
[09:16] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Because it's conducive to my plans that you gain absolute power in the Nine Hells." He says as he looks into the eyes of the Devil Queen.
[09:18] <!Emilybroshoujo> Arciel makes an excited smile for a moment as her eyes light up but she quickly regains her composure.
[09:18] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Why?..." She asks with a guarded expression.
[09:19] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Because it's much easier to control one greedy woman than a council of 8 paranoid insecure women." Aldeas says bluntly.
[09:20] <!Emilybroshoujo> Lucia covers her mouth with surprise at Aldeas' words.
[09:21] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Heh... hehe." Arciel smiles and extends her hand. "May I have this dance, your majesty?" She says to Aldeas.
[09:21] <!Emilybroshoujo> He takes her hand. "Of course."
[09:21] <!Emilybroshoujo> They dance as the court musicians play music.
[09:25] <!Emilybroshoujo> "It's very unlike Aldeas to say something so manipulative... doesn't he usually want to leave the individual kingdoms to their own devices." Lucia says to herself.
[09:25] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Does he?" Mesina asks.
[09:26] <!Emilybroshoujo> "It seems to me like he's manipulating everyone." The redhead says as she stuffs another shrimp into her mouth.
[09:26] <!Emilybroshoujo> "What do you mean?" Lucia asks with a pout.
[09:26] <!Emilybroshoujo> "I mean... like."
[09:26] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Hmm...."
[09:26] <!Emilybroshoujo> Mesina thinks for a moment.
[09:27] <!Emilybroshoujo> "By inviting all the queens at once he's basically forcing them all to show up, because the ones who don't give up any ground for negotiations."
[09:27] <!Emilybroshoujo> "In a lot of ways he's using the power of the Monster Queens to keep all the other queens in line."
[09:28] <!Emilybroshoujo> "And he tells them all exactly what they want to hear, even if it is true most of the time."
[09:29] <!Emilybroshoujo> "Maybe I'm over thinking it." Mesina says as she eats more seafood.
[09:36] <!Emilybroshoujo> Lucia watches as her husband dances with the Devil Queen.
