The conversation concludes, the door slams shut and the merchant locks the door before turning to Rei. He mops the sweat from his forehead with a small handkerchief before he notices that Rei is awake]]

  4. [7:13:57 PM CST] <Mirr> Markesh: Ah, thank the merciful gods you've come to. I was beginning to worry about what to do with you.The guards are searching for you it seems. The news gets worse, I'm afraid, it would seem that there's no sign of your pretty friend, either.

  8. [7:22:00 PM CST] <Mirr> Markesh: It's still the evening, but it's getting rather late, my friend. I think it would be best if you take your supplies and get out of town before the guards come back for another sweep, I do not think that would be good for either of us. You understand?
  9. [7:23:00 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> Yes. My companion said she would come looking for me if my return was not sufficiently swift. At this point, she will either catch up with me, or she will not. If you catch wind that remains of hers have been unearthed, please remember the information.

  11. [7:25:37 PM CST] <Mirr> Markesh: I've taken the liberty of pulling the cart out for you, so you've only to take it from the city. The sooner the better, my friend. I've had my fill of dragging things around today.
  12. [7:27:47 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> Of course. I apologize on behalf of myself and the Mayoi household for the trouble that has been occasioned by our arrival. It is my most sincere hope that any dealings we have in the future not be troubled by such nuisances.
  13. [7:28:22 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei scoots out of her chair and stand up straight before performing a long, deep bow. Without another word, she exits the shop and locates the cart, ready to begin hauling it back to the mansion.
  14. [7:33:40 PM CST] <Mirr> [[Rei's return trip is mostly uneventful aside from sighting the same unusual group of men outside of town. It's hard to tell exactly what they're doing, but they make no move to stop Rei]]
  15. [7:37:45 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei , arriving at the mansion, pulls the cart across the bridge to the mansion's front door, on which she loudly knocks before opening and stepping inside, searching for one of the residents.

  17. [7:41:39 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei , hearing Xilith approach, turns to her, revealing her armlessness.

  26. [7:47:46 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> I am handicapped without an arm, but I beleive that I will still be able to preform all my essential duties.

  30. [7:49:20 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> I was in a fight with a friend of mine. I was disactivated, and when I woke up, I was missing part of my arm.

  39. [7:54:38 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> I do not beleive that I can adequately answer that question. I am highly aware of my lack of an arm; far moreso than I am aware of its presence when it is present. This may be called pain. Not knowing what pain feels like, I would not presume to be able to say for certain.
  40. [7:54:57 PM CST] <[grant]_Xilith> I'll leave what you do up to you. * She quickly gaits towards Aemara's room first. *
  41. [7:55:23 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> ...Well, yah not collapsed on the ground screamin'... I... I guess we should unload the supplies fuh now... Can you lift anythin'?
  42. [7:55:36 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Well, I guess you did just haul that huge mess back here...
  43. [7:55:59 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> I beleive I can. I will be best suited to carrying things with an easy grip for lifting.
  44. [7:56:52 PM CST] * [grant]_Xilith goes to the Aemara's room and sharply raps on the door.
  45. [7:57:09 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Alright, well, let's get stahted. I'm stahvin, and I'm sure the othahs are, too. Once I get some food in my belly, I can see what I can do about replacin' that ahm...
  46. [7:57:14 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina starts salivating.
  47. [7:59:41 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei leads Arina out the front door, where the cart is waiting. She pulls the tarp off the top and reaches for whatever thing she can reach that looks like it she'll be able to carry it. She then lugs it to the blackened kitchen, trying to decide where best to stock it.
  48. [8:04:17 PM CST] <Mirr> [[Aemara opens her door, still fully dressed, doesn't look like she was going to sleep any time soon. Oddly enough Otomi also seems to be in Aemara's room sleeping on her bed.]]

  50. [8:06:37 PM CST] <[grant]_Xilith> If you would solely like the good news then the supplies have arrived. Of course something like that wouldn't require your immediate attention.

  54. [8:09:10 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: That would be best, she didn't take well to seeing that thing
  55. [8:11:23 PM CST] <[grant]_Xilith> I only have a vague understanding of what happened and I'm sure that you'll have your own questions to ask. Rei would have the most knowledge of what happened. Shall we proceed to the main lobby?

  59. [8:14:34 PM CST] <[grant]_Xilith> Eleanor has gone missing and Rei is missing an arm.
  60. [8:18:25 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: Then at the very least Rei made it back, and we don't have a confirmation of Eleanor's death.
  61. [8:19:19 PM CST] <[grant]_Xilith> Yes, in terms of bad news it certainly could have been worse.
  62. [8:21:10 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: But a missing arm, what could possibly have done that?
  63. [8:23:18 PM CST] <[grant]_Xilith> From what I have gleaned from Rei, she woke up and it was missing. I'm sure there is more to the story that happened before that but I felt it was important that we all could ask questions at the same time.
  64. [8:23:28 PM CST] <Mirr> [[Aemara stops in the middle of the main chamber and watches Rei and Arina moving the supplies in.]]
  65. [8:24:42 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: As soon as they're done I'd like to hear what she has to say about her trip.

  68. [8:30:48 PM CST] <Mirr> [[The three finish unloading the cart quickly enough and return to the main chamber where Aemara is still waiting]]

[8:46:07 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> After verifying that our shipment was prepared and ready for transport, I encountered a small creature who said that she had been instructed by her master to prevent me from returning to the lodging-house where Eleanor-sama was. I had met this creature and earlier; her master and Eleanor-sama were having a conversation.
  80. [8:48:00 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: Can you describe them? Both the creature and its master.
  81. [8:52:38 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> The creature called itself "May." She was about my hieght, with very pale skin; long, grey hair; and bright red eyes. She was wearing a black dress with a red brooch. She described herself as "cold;" not a human, and presumably not exothermic.
  82. [8:53:09 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> Her master was the woman that was speaking with you and the mistress yesterday morning, when my colleagues and I first arrived.
  83. [8:56:21 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: I see, were they involved in whatever incident caused the loss of your arm?
  84. [8:58:32 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> After I encountered May, we fought, and I was disactivated. When I woke up, I was missing my arm.

  86. [8:59:59 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: She /took/ your arm?
  87. [9:01:49 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> As I said, I cannot be certain. As her mission was to detain me, it would make sense to me that she took my arm in an effort to stymie my mission to return to the lodging-house and leave promptly.
  88. [9:02:19 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> She implied that her master was the one that set fire to the lodging-house; a second prong of their effort to hinder ours, I would think.
  89. [9:07:09 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: I see, then if you ever see her again be sure to drive her off by whatever means are needed. I won't have her costing us any more able bodies than she already has.
  90. [9:07:38 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: Is there anything else that you would deem unusual, Rei?
  91. [9:08:47 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> I had many new experiences on this trip. What I described to you was all that I remember of anyone seeking us, specifically. If Eleanor-sama were here, she could probably say more about May's master, as they spoke.
  92. [9:14:37 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: She spoke to her? Were you nearby when they spoke, and did you hear any of what they were talking about?
  93. [9:16:20 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> While Eleanor-sama and May's master were speaking, I was speaking with May. When we approached them, May was dismissed, and subsequently her master excused herself.
  94. [9:21:58 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: Hm, there seems to be a large number of problems those two managed to cause for you. Now I have news for you as well, Xilith would you mind describing what happened while Rei was away?
  95. [9:27:26 PM CST] <[grant]_Xilith> While you were gone there was an type of living armor that came to take that imp away. Sadly I wasn't able to stop him from taking the imp, however we discovered where they both came from.
  96. [9:29:21 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> This is good news, Saint Xilith. Do you beleive it would be possible to seal off the source of these incursions?
  97. [9:29:49 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: Yes, there is a trap door in the far end of a hall we thought was useless. However, it seems to be rusted shut or sealed in some way, after Arina has taken a look at you to see just how functional you still actually are I'd like to see if you can open it for us
  98. [9:30:22 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> I would gladly help guard the mansion from these unwanted intrusions.

  103. [9:33:57 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: Now might very well be that time. If Rei can't remember exactly when her arm was removed from her then she was shut down at some point, which means that there is probably some damage we aren't aware of. We need you completely capable, Rei
  104. [9:35:17 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina 's eyes shine and she beams. "I... I... I had no idea I'd be able to dig into her deepest debths so soon! I wasn't sure if I was going to get to do it at all! Oh, I'm so excited."
  105. [9:35:48 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Um, just to clarify, mistress, I have permission to take her apart and rebuild her as long as she ends up as complete or mor complete than she was before?
  106. [9:37:11 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> While I long to be able to serve the household to the greatest possible capacity, I must first protect the commandments of my mistress's. Unless I have her approval, I cannot allow this operation upon myself.
  107. [9:40:28 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: I'm giving you permission to fix whatever you can. Rei, Otomi is not in a condition to give permission at this time, I am acting in her absence.
  108. [9:43:02 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> The mistress is the highest authority in this household. Without authorization from her, it is not possible to contravene a commandment of hers. I asked once what authority you had in your position; the answer was not made clear. I am afraid that I cannot accept your word in preference to the mistress's.

  112. [9:49:32 PM CST] <Mirr> [[Aemara turns without another word and heads back to her room. After a few short minutes of near silence Aemara returns, pulling a very tired looking Otomi by the hand.]]

  115. [9:50:22 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei bows deeply.

  122. [9:57:32 PM CST] <Mirr> [[Otomi quietly shuffles back to Aemara's room. Aemara sighs when she sees the room she walks into.]]

  124. [9:58:55 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina 's face lights up once again. "With pleasure! Come on, Rei, I'm gonna take you apart and make you even better than ever!"
  125. [9:59:29 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> Please do, Arina-sama.
  126. [9:59:56 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina produces a tarp from the tool bag and spreads it out.
  127. [10:00:08 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Hm, on second thought, maybe we shouldn't do this in front of all these prying eyes.
  128. [10:00:35 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina picks up the tarp, takes Rei by the hand, and drags both her and the tarp back to her own room.

  130. [10:04:01 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina slams the door shut behind Rei. After a moment, she pokes her head back out of the door, her expression unmistakably one of lust this time. "Please do not disturb us unless it's urgent. We're going to need some privacy~"
  131. [10:04:02 PM CST] <Mirr> Aemara: Where are you taking her?
  132. [10:04:31 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> To wonderland, of course~
  133. [10:04:36 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina slams the door shut again.
  134. [10:05:24 PM CST] <Mirr> [[Aemara mumbles to herself as she heads back to her own room]]

  136. [10:23:14 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Alright, Rei, baby, let's see what you're made of.
  137. [10:23:55 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> By all means; help yourself, Arina-sama.
  138. [10:24:26 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina spreads the tarp over the floor of her room. "Yah gonna hafta take that dress off first. Can't get at'cha if yah fully clothed."
  139. [10:24:40 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> At once, Arina-sama.
  140. [10:25:56 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei quickly and effeciently takes off her dress. She is now naked.
  141. [10:26:46 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Alright, now for the fun paht.
  142. [10:27:45 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina takes Rei by the hand and gently guides her down into a laying position.
  143. [10:28:44 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina produces a scalpel. "Well, hopefully yah don't got too many fluids to spill out, but... Heh, we're gonna get all filthy anyway, eh?" She winks at Rei.

  145. [10:32:04 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina gets down on her hands and knees over Rei, straddling her chest and straightens what remains of the good arm. "This'd prahbably hurt like hell if you were a human, but..."

  147. [10:33:05 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina traces the scalpel around the arm at the shoulder joint, removing what skin remains to get a better look at the inner mechanisms.
  148. [10:33:30 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> Put your mind at ease, Arina-sama. I am fully capable of whatever operation you wish.
  149. [10:34:35 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina pulls on the skin to try to peel it off only to find that it is as attached to Rei as human skin would be to a human body. "Damn, yah really realistic. I thought it'd just be a rubbah sleeve or somethin'. You said you dunno where you're from?"
  150. [10:37:42 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> In truth, I could not show you where I am from on a map. I know the place is called the Human Imitation Project.
  151. [10:39:53 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina cuts another incision down the length of the arm and manages to peel off the skin. "Well, they did a damn fine job of imitatin' a human. Yah mannerisms could use some work, but yah body's beautiful..."
  152. [10:40:10 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> Your praise flatters me, Arina-sama.
  153. [10:41:01 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei 's expression remains unfazed as her outer layer is peeled back, revealing sensor contacts trailing via fine wires into the hydraulics that power her arm.
  154. [10:41:25 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina 's breath seems to catch in her throat for a moment as she stares at the mutilated mechanics. "And you're just as beautiful inside as out... Even in this state. How did someone manage to do so much damage, though? My word..."
  155. [10:47:37 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Well, I'm going to cut the other arm open. I need to compare the two.
  156. [10:49:13 PM CST] <[Multi]_Rei> Do as you wish, Arina-sama.
  157. [10:49:34 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina straightens Rei's good arm, cutting an incision along the length of the arm down to Rei's wrist, with two more incisions around the circumference of her wrist and shoulder joint, and then peels the skin off the same way, making sure to keep it intact. With very careful cuts, she removes skin from Rei's hand as well.
  158. [10:51:23 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> Wow, you are truly an amazing creature, Rei. I'd love to study you even more... in depth, but I suppose the arms are all that's on the menu today. Can you move them above your head slowly and then back down, please? I need to see how the mechanisms work.

  160. [10:53:28 PM CST] * [Multi]_Rei rotates her arms slowly, her hydraulics and embedded systems glistening in the low light. Her skin tralis after her arms, dragged by the sensor wires, which twinkle like stars. Once she completes her prone jumping jack, she reverses the motion.
  161. [10:55:34 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina takes note of the internal mechanisms as they move within Rei's arms. After Rei's arms finally come to a rest, Arina lets out the breath she had been holding. "Amazing. This is a once in a lifetime chance... I knew accepting this job would be the right thing to do. I do hope daddy won't be too upset, but, well... Ah, what am I saying? Arina, get your head together. You have a job to do."
  162. [10:58:03 PM CST] * [Naz]_Arina lifts herself off Rei's chest and begins to rummage in the bag of repair supplies issued to her by the cartel. She produces several tools, some familiar and some very esoteric with no obvious purpose, and sets them down next to Rei in an orderly fashion. She then brings a nearby lamp over to her workspace to shed more light on Rei's parts. Returning to her bag, she begins rummaging again until...
  163. [10:59:18 PM CST] <[Naz]_Arina> "Ah, darn it, girl, what are you going to make the new arm out of? Sit tight, Rei, I have to get some actual metal."
