Jak 3 - High Restriction Playthrough

Since i've been taking a lil break from speedrunning, i've been wanting to do some alternative videos for my YouTube regarding my interests that's not necessarily speedrunning. It might end up being music or emotionally related. I have a lot of ideas i end up scrapping due to how much i would need to invest into it financially, or just because i don't think i would enjoy it enough. I'm not really willing to spill the beans on what my ideas are so you all don't get your hopes up :>. But expect some varied stuff in the future.

I still want to try to and produce things i am happy with. Sorry to all the overly nostalgic Jak 3 people, but this challenge might be a big one of. I honestly love playing Jak 3 and it's really hard for me to say this, but i really don't like reading my chat a whole lot when i play the game, to the point where i end up not streaming it. Why? Well there's a decent chunk of my viewers that decide to only show up when i play Jak 3 (And thats totally ok.) But what isn't ok is the amount of emotional nostalgia they let out on the chat. It gets very tiresome to read and makes me feel like a piece of shit for doing other things with my life i'd rather be doing. I don't ever want to associate the peak of my life with ''The time i played Jak 3.'' And i don't want that to be the word that goes around either. Just wanted to let you know that this is one of my many ideas ive been thinking about doing for a while. I'm done taking twitch seriously, i just want to be myself and if you expect me to play 1 particular game just for your personal enjoyment, you can kindly fuck right off.

..On a more positive note here's how the Playthrough works!

The Jak 3 High Restriction Playthrough (J3HRP) is a playthrough in where i highly restrict my options, to the point where i have to find alternative ways of doing a lot of missions. About 25% of the missions are still the same as before, but i added a lot of extra challenges to make this playthrough a lot more fun. Oh and hard. This is going to be very fucking hard.



- All Missions (This Implies i do every storyline mission in the game, just like an All Missions speedrun would do it.)

- No Damage (If i take damage or die i have to restart the mission. If the checkpoint is the start anyway, dying is fine. Vehicle damage does not count in this case.)

- Low Gun Usage (I will only use guns on missions that absolutely require me to use them, otherwise i can't use guns at all in this playthrough.)

- Low Light Jak Usage (The only reason it's not "No Light Jak," is because you get forced into light jak after obtaining each ability. Other than that, it's never used in this run at all.

- No Hover (Can't utilize the hover glitch that allows you to infinitely fly with the Jetboard. If i do it on accident i have to restart mission. Call me out on this if i do it screwing around in the overworld and i don't see it. It's just so burned into my muscle memory.)

- No Vehicle Boosts (Can't use the turbo, or boost with any vehicles. This makes some challenges harder and more fun.)

- Low Leaper/Zoomer Usage (Will only use Leapers and Zoomers when they are absolutely necessary to progress the story.)

- No Cheats (I wont be using any orbs to buy upgrades or cheats of any kind.)

This will be played on PAL PS2. With 60hz 480p RGB. (Reason im not upscaling to 960p is cause my Monitor stretches the image to 16:9 blehhhh.) Anyway, hope you enjoy. This will be a ride for sure.
