The Missing Chao ~ Chapter 1

Ribbon of sunlight swirled as it dashed through the glass window. They tickled a peach rabbit, who was currently asleep on a bed with a pale blue mattress, as if she was laying in a distant jade meadow. Ignoring the sunrise's call, she sighed and rolled over over, cuddling a stuffed blue wolf.

Cream, as she was called at birth, then yawned and sat up in her orange pajamas. Her eyes turned towards a lone plush box.

Suddenly, her pupils narrowed like a straw being squeezed, "WHERE ARE YOU CHEESE?!"

Normally, she'd eye Cheese moaning as it laid in its bed. Cream would always scoop it up and smile. Now, the poor little thing couldn't be found.

Tears dripped onto the fragile fabric of the pants she was wearing, "Where could my little Cheese be? I hope he wasn't killed or sent back to the Chao Garden."

She was so unhappy that she was reluctant to brush her teeth, change into her dress, and set out for the new day. Eventually, Cream's mother, Vanilla, wandered into her room and caught her only daughter weeping so excessively that she could flood the whole entire house.

"What's the matter, dear?" she gently asked her Cream.

"Mom, Cheese has went away! I can't bear this great loss, he's my pet."

"Dear, your father died when you were only a 1-year old kitten. I know accepting loss is a hard thing, but that's how life is."

"I want to seek, really badly."

"Of course you may seek him, you're a big girl and can work with Sonic."

"I have a question: Is Chocola still here?"

I hate to say this, but he's gone too."

"Really?! Double trouble! Now we've lost BOTH of our chao!"

Gemarl passed by outside silently.

Vanilla squealed, "Well, let's get up and start the day."

After Cream brushed her pearly whites and got dressed, she hopped into the kitchen, sat on the wooden chair, and..... stared at her blueberry waffles.

"Blueberry waffles!" Vanilla hollered like a monkey. "It's your absolute favorite!"

Glumly, Cream pushed her plate away and groaned, "I'll rather skip breakfast."

"You may, grief can cause you to not enjoy certain things."

Cream then opened the chestnut front door and galloped all the way to Sonic's house.
