DBL - Time for Tetrahe & Kayel Gets a New Friend

[2020-04-16 19:57] *[user]A Fullblooded Prince[/user] as they approach the city Trunk startedbto slow he hovered in a spot for a few moments. He looked about trying to find a power reading for someone he knew there, or just catch a glimps of someone. His eyes darted around before looking to Pikan. "They must be out." He said giving a nod as he looked for hope that no one was dead.
[2020-04-16 19:59] *[user]Pikan[/user] "Couldn't tell ya. My communicator has been on the fritz for actually communicating!" He admitted. "Basically everything else works, but it wouldn't even get a distress call out the last time." Peering at the location they were hovering above, lifting himself just a little bit to float there beside him.
[2020-04-16 20:01] *[user]Chronoa O Clock[/user] was at the courtyard of the split-fragment of The Watch, sitting down at the fountain edge and peering into the water with a semi-dazed look about her. While the smaller section was known for no ki-usage, it was riddled with magic in the air. That included the way she was wrapping the water about a finger and avoiding getting wet, lost to her own thoughts.
[2020-04-16 20:05] *[user]A Fullblooded Prince[/user] "I don't have one myself Galen was going to give me one but never got a round to it." He said softly. "We should try the area at the watch were ki is restricted." He said softly. And grabbed Pikan by the collar be pulled him along to the watch. Landing on the edge he took off full sprint look for anyone.
[2020-04-16 20:07] *[user]Pikan[/user] , after a brief, surprised, 'ack!', he grabbed hold of his arm! Legs billowing in the wake kicked up by Trunks' rushing form. The contrast of the biome as ki emphasis changed to magic registered... but he couldn't place just how. "Couldn't hurt!"
[2020-04-16 20:08] *[user]Chronoa O Clock[/user] lifted her head as the magical barrier was crossed, dulled eyes turning off towards the two newcomers. "Hi there!" Chronoa chirped, offering a warm smile and hand raised in wave.
[2020-04-16 20:09] *[user]DBL Encounter Hub[/user] Neus seems to consider that for a moment. "[color=white]Ribbon bright color... Neus-hunter accepts... will give feather in return. Gift for gift... Neus-hunter's feather helps fix hurts... Perhaps help Kayel-friend fix Floyd-thing... Perhaps Floyd-thing help drive out dark things...[/color]" It had no way of knowing if that was the case or not... perhaps just a bit of hope for its future, and the future of his family and flock... The way it spoke about giving a gift for getting a gift also had a tone of refusing to consider any kind of alternative. Neus was a proud hunter after all. Taking something for nothing was not the way he liked to go about things....

At least Neus had stopped referring to Kayel as Prey....
[2020-04-16 20:12] *[user]A Fullblooded Prince[/user] "Chronoa...I'm sorry I have been gone..." he said softly as he approached..."I had a run in with someone that stuck me in a time loop...." he said looking down "I don't know how long I have been gone.. I think it's been at least a month." He took a long pause. "W..wheres Galen...." he asked softly hoping Pika wasn't right on his comrades death.
[2020-04-16 20:14] *[user]Pikan[/user] followed after, standing to the right side of Trunks and somewhat behind. Waving to Chronoa, he listened to the back and forth, respectfully keeping quiet.

[2020-04-16 20:16] *[user]Kayel[/user] went wide-eyed, lips making a small o of amazement. [color=cyan]"Really? A feather? Oh wow... Th-thank you Neus. That's very kind of you!"[/color] Kayel-friend. The term had her beaming.. glowing.. Really, she had a slight shine to her of prismatic hue. Kayel ever carefully stepped near, brushing her hands against Neus' ankle before carefully wrapping around the ribbon in a secure tie. [color=cyan]"Yeah, we can try and see if it helps Floyd. But I think it's gunna take a lot for Floyd. You know how parts of the world and lands and plants grows back when it gets damages?.. Not all that stuffs does. It's been slowin' down and some stuffs like them crystals don't heal at all.. So that's why I think Floyd needs help. If peoples keep destroyin' stuffs and Floyd can't heal it up... that's terrible.."[/color]

She settled back, looking at the ribbon tethered to her new friend and smiling with a nod to herself. [color=cyan]"How's that feel Neus? I made sure it can't get tangled or in your way or nothin' too."[/color]

Galen is in critical shape, in a coma right now. He's in one of the healing pods of my infirmary wing to maintain his body. He was attacked by Fu. Let's see.. a whole month, huh?.. Well, Tik and Tok were compromised by Fu and turned into some sort of monstrosity like war ship. Demigra and Shroom keep almost getting themselves killed repeatedly. Demigra's handed out some special divine charged weapons. Pan, the less angry one, has been dating Fu. Oh and Fu has turned into a giant monster. Let's see.. some ice demons froze up different parts of the Void Nexus, Beutia has seen better days, and Mechikabura is being a promising persistent problem. So things have been... involved."

[2020-04-16 20:26] *[user]DBL Encounter Hub[/user] Neus took a step back, peering down at the orange ribbon tied around its ankle. The large bird lifted its leg and wiggled it around back and forth a little bit, then gave a bit of a nod before setting it back down. "[color=white]Ribbon-thing feels fine...[/color]" At that, Neus settled back down and then stretched out a wing, leaning his head over to ruffle his beak against his feathers a little bit, finding a good sized one and suddenly plucking it out from a spot that it wouldn't be easily noticable, nor would it hinder his ability to fly.

Feather carefully clutched in his beak his head lowered down to Kayel's height, directly in front of her as he offered the feather to her.  "[color=white]Neus hopes Kayel-friend can help Floyd-thing feel better then...[/color]" He would wait until Kayel took the feather, and then returned to that nearly regal stance... Neus felt quite proud of his new ribbon after all, and a [b]very[/b] successful hunt. "[color=white]If Kayel-friend needs further help... Neus-hunter will be glad to after getting food back to flock.[/color]" After all... If he helped Kayel-friend further, that may mean more food once this current bounty runs low...
[2020-04-16 20:29] *[user]A Fullblooded Prince[/user] he paused his demeanor changed he slumped a bit in his stance. "I'm...sorry I haven't been her to help..." He said in a disappointing voice. "I got stuck fight this guy...it seemed like we fought forever and then some.. If I'd been her maybe things would have turned out differently l." He said as he closed his eyes a bit. "Good news is no one died." He said as he looked back up at her. "Looks like I'm going to have to help out more." He looked over at Pikan also. "I brought this guy back." He said happily trying to change the mood of the conversation.

That feather was then offered and with utmost care, she took it to her hands. [color=cyan]"Major big woah... It's so.. so soft.. and so shiney! Thank you so much Neus!"[/color] Kayel hugged the feather to herself, swaying in place as that prismatic glow arched across her in golden wisps. Now where to place something so precious and special? The girl carefully worked it into her sleeve, right alongside her hidden wand for the time being. [color=cyan]"Thank you Neus and if you find that you're having a hard time getting food, I can try to help or at least point out where some good huntin' spots is. I'll tell Miss Chro-nuh 'bout your food problems and she might be able to help too. She makes dark things be normal lots of times. So that might help you get to hunt 'gain soon."[/color] Her gaze turned over towards that mountain and all those crystals... [color=cyan]"Have you seen any spots where the crystals got really broken and like a big part is missin'? That's the spot I's tryin' to get to."[/color]

Dark hunter knocked over large crystal-thing while hunting prey-thing and hit prey-thing hard, but prey-thing scattered dust on dark-hunter and dark-hunter ran off in frenzy. Prey-thing hit hard enough to land in territory of heavy air. May find broken crystal-things there....[/color]"

It hopped over and used one claw to grasp the bundle of food that Kayel had carefully packed before lowering down. "[color=white]Kayel-friend small... Neus-hunter take Kayel-friend to broken crystal-things before taking food home.[/color]" It was on the way after all... Neus didn't feel the need to extract a trade for this.

"There's been lots of needless death. Lots of death in general. Two cities were slaughtered outright for their energy to help restore Mechikabura's youth. Then there's those ice demons who enjoy freezing people and breaking their limbs to force them into poses of living art. They also die too.. eventually." The kai sat her chin in her hand, gaze crossing to Pikan then back to Trunks. "Another kid? We have one of those running around already. War isn't a place for children."
[2020-04-16 20:51] *[user]Pikan[/user] shrugs his shoulders. "To the Iron Striders, life is war. Even if you are not at the front lines." Which is, admittedly, kind of a dour and practical to the point of cynical way of looking at it. But that's the culture he comes from. "I'm not at the front lines, I'm just living in this weird place. But I'm affected by the weird stuff that happens here. So, I learn to live better."

And yet, that's exactly what he did. Just waltzed in like. At least the boisterous, mildly oblong-shaped man in the kabuki mask had the decency and decorum to leave his hideous abomination of a vehicle parked in the designated loading zones, though the same could not be said for his personage. [color=brown]"Yes, yes, I'm well aware of your protocols, but this is a matter that simply [b]cannot[/b] wait for the proper channels. You don't really think I'd [b]be[/b] here, now, in this manner, if I had a choice? Come come, Sphalere, fan out and find--"[/color]

Tetrahe abruptly stopped mid-sentence, switching from barking orders at his subordinate to gasping a little louder than was entirely necessary, as he laid eyes upon the person he was evidently looking for. [color=brown]"Ah! Speak of the pretty pink angel herself! Chronoa, Chronoa, it's been entirely too long, and by that I mean it's a [b]shame[/b] for us not to have been introduced sooner!"[/color] Tetrahe lowered himself for a bow, complete with that dumb little arm flourish.
[2020-04-16 20:53] *[user]A Fullblooded Prince[/user] he tilted his head a bit. "Chronoa...are you alright?" He asked looking down at her the other times he had seen her she was bubbly. She was off for sure. He leaned down and booked her nose softly. "Ya know I'm not your Trunks but you can confide in me." He said softly, he felt bad for not being there, he could only imagine how she felt.
[2020-04-16 20:54] *[user]Kayel[/user] gasped slightly at that news. While it wasn't exactly what she came to investigate, it was [b]new[/b] and needed investigating. If the broken bits were at least still there... could she.. maybe help?.. [color=cyan]"Oh, thank you so much Neus. It would take me a long time to try to get there and find it. I can't fly with energy and the energy to fly can't be used so close to the crystals."[/color] She glanced to the HR3.. It would be fine, wouldn't it? Sure! So she very carefully hopped up onto Neus and hugged on. [color=cyan]"Thank you for this so much again."[/color]

[2020-04-16 20:58] *[user]Chronoa O Clock[/user] was about to speak, but found her attention stolen away by Tetrahe. She stared forward, even with that bonk to her nose. It oddly.. didn't phase her. Neither did Pikan's words, when they.. they really should have. "Not quite an introduction when you don't offer your name but know mine. ..But of course you'd know me." That maroon to her eyes flickered, the kai leaning back slightly with both hands grasping the fountain edge in a moment of recomposure.
[2020-04-16 21:00] *[user]Pikan[/user] paused, like a statue. He knew [b]that[/b] voice. Or at least, a voice of another universe's... version.... of this bumbling... 'antique dealer.' Lidding his eyes, not even turning his head as he just stared, dead eyed and nonplussed, into the middle area. Awwwww for ff.. This may as well be happening. Sloooooowly turning his head, to gaze upon that dumb little kabuki mask on the rotund little schemer. Oh no.

[2020-04-16 21:09] *[user]DBL Encounter Hub[/user] Neus shifted slightly, crouching a little lower until Kayel was able to seat herself. The eagle-like creature gave a bit of a wiggle to adjust Kayel-friend's placement on his back, and then he pushed up with his one leg, wings spreading as he took off skyward, carrying both Kayel-friend and the food she offered as he slowly circled and flapped his wings to gain altitude bit by bit. Once it reached a high enough level it began to fly closer toward the mountains and closer to the border with Zone 6.  "[color=white]Neus-hunter uses special power of cold to help aid flight and hunting... but it does not work in this territory. Neus-hunter feels special power drawn out when flying here so have to fly under own strength.[/color]"

As the pair flew across ground zero, Kayel might be able to see signs of a fight... Neus could anyway... A concrete pillar destroyed, tracks of a charging large King Rhino... a fragment of a broken horn laying near a crystal spire that had multiple impacts at the base but didn't manage to actually harm the crystal... and one large crystal that was clearly toppled over having not been properly rooted into the ground from a pretty powerful hit. Followed by charging tracks leading to a point, and then an erratic pattern of tracks leading off back toward Mesmersnow, as if the King Rhino was thrashing about as it ran off.

Once they reached the site, Neus began flying lower, circling around and getting a good look at the area to make sure other hunters were not around before it landed a safe distance away from the toppled crystal. Even Neus knew not to get close enough to those things to touch them... "[color=white]Kayel-friend should avoid touching large crystal-thing. Crystal-things very dangerous.. Accidentally landed on one once... Neus-hunter almost collapsed before managing to glide to safety.[/color]"

And that adorable little cabochon-cut jade gemstone in the forehead okay nevermind that's probably worth a decent amount of money just for the semi-precious stone, but seriously? What buffoon would call *this* art? This buffoon, obviously. It wasn't until on his way up from that bow that he noticed the icy stares he was getting, not just from Chronoa, but from all three major parties present. And then his eyes fell on one of them in particular.

[color=brown]"Pistachio! Wait, wait, no, that's not it, he was some other kind of nut... Almond? Cashew? Macadamia? Madagascar? Pikan! Yes, yes, that's the one!"[/color] Tetrahe turned back to his compatriot, who had much more of his face exposed, though he still kept his shawl wrappings tight around his mouth. [color=brown]"Sphalere! Go and fetch Cassiter from the car, and help him with the tea set. The Eujelanni bronze, if you would?"[/color] Returning to "his" guests, Tetrahe smiled broadly behind that mask, and while the porcelain refused to budge, his posture and body language spoke volumes for him. [color=brown]"I apologize that there may not be enough tea for all of you, I was only expecting the missus. Perhaps I should have consulted my star charts this morning?"[/color] He paused, before loosing a loud belly laugh, clapping himself on the back. [color=brown]"I jest! I jest! This place has the saddest star charts of them all--it's totally blank! No good for astrology. Oh, but where are my manners? My name is Tetrahe, the owner and proprietor of a small, family-owned antiques business which I'm [b]positive[/b] is well beneath your notice, so let's just cut to the chase, shall we?"[/color]
[2020-04-16 21:26] *[user]Kayel[/user] was caught up in that moment of awe.. How long had it been since anyone had taken her flying?... She threw her head back, spiky black mass of hair trailing in the breeze as she shut her eyes and took in the feeling. It was amazing and something she never took for granted. Opening her eyes to the sight of everything below brought on a wide smile too, Kayel staring over in awe from the new vantage point. Shroom's vehicle looked so tiny from up there! And she could make out the signs of scuffles.. So many things had to have been going on! Much more than just Shirogame taking a crystal.. [color=cyan]"The crystals take in energy. So that's why it's hard to use energy in this area. Floyd prolly needs lots of energy to keep healin' and the more damages there is, the more Floyd needs to heals. I know it's really dangerous.. but.. this one is broken.. maybe it can get pushed back to where it's posta go.. and I can say sorry to Floyd by helpin' to fix.."[/color]

With Neus landed, Kayel very carefully went to slide down, but quickly gave him a nuzzle in doing so. [color=cyan]"Thank you so much Neus. Be very careful.. and if anyone tries to hunt you, you can fly by here. Most peoples don't gots wings so they won't be able to get you. I hope you and your family stay safe. You's a good dad to your chicks. I bet they's gunna be big and strong when they grows up!"[/color]

[2020-04-16 21:28] *[user]Pikan[/user] mutters something darkly about, 'cutting,' and 'chasing,' and something about wild pig hunts while squeezing his new sword sheath with a closed fist. Grumblegrowlraspgurgle. This one either knew him from before, or this one knew a version of him from another universe. Either way, A appeared to be A, and B appeared to be B. He interrupted that gabbing and pleasantries with an interjection: "Oh, ashes and holes. What niknak, or mummy's hand, or king's chamber pot did you steal now!? Is there a DRAGON currently looking for it? An army? A really angry horde of space bees?! What did you do NOW!?"
[2020-04-16 21:30] [user]Chronoa O Clock[/user]: "I don't drink tea these days. But thank you anyway." Chronoa.. not drinking tea? The kai normally would have found Tetrahe to be fun, herself bubbly, cheeky.. but this was not the case. "Yes, cut to the chase, what is it you want? I have to retire to my room soon.." Her maroon gaze went half-lidded, but tried to remain focused on the newcomer.. despite it kept shifting off towards Trunks and Pikan. Then to Pikan it stayed for a few moments, lingering... "Tetrahe, was it?... So you pass on goods you acquire and those who obtain them find themselves inconvenienced from the acquisition?.."

[2020-04-16 21:36] *[user]DBL Encounter Hub[/user] Neus felt the nuzzle, and once Kayel was off and spoke about him being a good dad his chest puffed out and his feathers ruffled up a little bit in pride. "[color=white]Neus-hunter proud to care for family... proud to care for friends and flock...[/color]" He settled a few moments later, and then leaned his head down, bumping the top of his head against Kayel's briefly in a gesture of friendship. "[color=white]Kayel-friend be careful... Kayel-friend's family will be worried if she is away too long. Neus-hunter hopes Kayel-friend can help fix Floyd-thing.[/color]"

With that, Neus pushed himself back up off of the ground, both claws carefully gripping that bundle of food Kayel-friend had traded to him and took flight once more, circling around the area while Kayel went about her business for a little bit even after attaining the right altitude... possibly watching over her for a bit longer. Eventually however, Neus had to return to his family and flock, and began to glide off into the distance, the glint of that gifted Orange ribbon fluttering about around his ankle as he flew off back toward Mesmersnow....

Then she used said stick to shove the shards into a pile bit by bit, more towards the base of where that giant shard broke. Looking to that giant shard however, Kayel was stumped. [color=cyan]"How's I posta move you?.. I can't touch you.."[/color]

And with that, Tetrahe reached into his pocket, and retrieved a small box, the kind that would hold a ring if one were about to propose. Inside the box, however, was no priceless jewelry, but an arrowhead, made out of some glossy, dark purple material and etched with ivory-inlaid carvings in two rows that each wrapped around the surface of the item. [color=brown]"You see, I get the sneaking suspicion that a mutual acquaintance of ours won't take too kindly to seeing me around again... and I happen to know that he's got a [b]severe[/b] allergy to this little beaut. And between you and me, Pikan, I bet the good Lady here might develop a sniffle and a runny nose if she holds onto it."[/color]

And precisely three seconds later, the man from earlier arrived, along with another, taller man in heavy purple full plate, each of whom were carrying parts of a tea set.

It almost looked like... yep. He was cartoonishly, exaggeratedly making shoveling-motions. Using two hands, just lopping that stuff up over his shoulder. Invisible shit, being slung with an invisible two handed shovel, but going through the motions!

At that moment when the other men walked in, he put his hands over his head from the position they were in and feigned yawning.

"You're not wrong and in many cases, that's still a common practice. I'll tell you what Tetrahe, if you talk to my partner, Demigra, and clear things with him.. alright. He has much more knowledge about these sorts of things than I do."

He'd surely destroy it--not because it's dangerous, mind you, but because it [b]could[/b] be used against him, and to quite devastating effect. The fact that I have no [b]plans[/b] to won't stop him, either. Paranoia is a deadly infection, one that's not so easily rooted out. Although..."[/color]

One hand reached back for a cup of tea that had just finished being poured and was being offered by the man in the purple armor, while he rested his head in the other. [color=brown]"I think I know a way to solve both our problems. Several of them, as it turns out."[/color]

Halting his japery (it'd figure the man would have SOME sort of eyes in the back of his head), he returned to standing very still And thinking. Hard. Perhaps if the man could read surface thoughts, then he'd be able to read these ones? He otherwise lacked any means of telepathic communication.. much to his dismay.

<I think you're going to need to fix whatever problem Lady Chronoa has if you want to deal with Demigra. Because it looks like Demigra has fixed a problem here already.>

[b]please[/b] don't bring it here again. This place.. For Demigra and I, it's our home. I don't want anything around that can hurt him or stir up any ill feelings. ..He has enough to deal with. He separated things here so that we would just.. be safer, feel safer, be able to protect what we need to." That brightness to her eyes was back in the form of a small sparkle, nevermind the worry that glinted there and rang through her voice quite clearly.  Her cheeks certainly grew a few shades redder than pink...

The armored man nodded silently, while the other one pulled his wrappings down just enough to sip at his tea. [sub]Hold on, how the heck was Tetrahe drinking with the mask still on?[/sub] [color=brown]"Excellent! So, the delivery will be made, and perhaps your chosen champion will share with you the wonderful and miraculous recovery our dear friend will have, and then perhaps you will submit yourself to the same treatment. Only time will tell~"[/color]

Not based on any real logic, or precedence, but just gut assumption. It either meant he was going to be looking for A.) Kayel, B.) Pan.

And last he knew.. and he didn't know much... Kayel did not rip out vertebra. The other one, however, probably would.

And that was when it hit her, Chronoa groaning. "And I just realized we'll need to find another babysitter.." Pikan was then eyed.. "Do we need one for you too?"

"I can handle all kinds of peace upsetting nasties.  Mostly by not being where they're doing their messing."

Some tea was left in an elegant black bronze tea kettle with three cups, a parting gift for the miserable chore of putting up with Tetrahe. As he spun on his heels, though, he stopped abruptly, tossing one last remark back over his shoulder. [color=brown]"Oh, one more thing. When Pan and Cassiter drop off the arrowhead... Have her say "hi" to Shalloh for me.~"[/color]

He reached into his coat pocket, retrieving the box and handing it over to Cassiter's mailed hand.

And with that final riddle, Tetrahe and Sphalere exited the locked-down section of the Watch, leaving behind Cassiter with the arrowhead.
