Towel reflections

Alexithymiaa: -Steph had her check up appointment this morning and had gotten some pretty good news and feedback from her doctor. She'd gained a considerable amount of weight since she was last there, but this was the first time she'd been weighed since her last visit so she hadnt really known the number she was at. It had been difficult for her to accept seeing the number on the scale and therefore she was struggling to get through her day significantly more than usual. Finishing up her shower, she stepped out and grabbed her towel, wrapping it around herself and moving over in front of the mirror to wipe the steam away, just staring at her reflection.-
Covet: Felix had been out on the back porch area fiddling with a pre filled Cannabis Vape pen he'd picked up from the shop, because it was dinky and cheap and on sale. Finally giving up on that he came back into the bedroom. He'd alsor recieved some less than desirable news about his shoulder and was in an equally grumpy mood, handing it out to Steph, he pouted, "I can't make it work...Hey... are you okay?" He asked as he dropped his pouty attitude immediately to tend to hers.
Alexithymiaa: -She jumped when he came into the bathroom, turning away from the mirror to look at him. "What? Yeah, I'm fine." she said quickly, trying to brush it off as she held her hand out for the vape pen. "My glasses are on the dresser, if you can grab them for me."-
Covet: "Yeah one second." He said stepping out of the bathroom to get them. "I just wanted to smoke a bit since the pain killers aren't even really taking the edge of anymore. I feel like I've done nothing but nap and ice it...oh and I guess, going to PT today..." He said with a grumble as he handed over her glasses to her.
Alexithymiaa: -She took her glasses and slipped them onto her face, blinking a few times as her eyes focused as she gently pushed the cartridge into place because honestly I have never even seen one, but we'll go with that. She held it back out to him, forcing a smile. "PT is good. I know it doesn't feel like it, but it is."-
Covet: "No it's not.. because none of what I've done there so far fucking matters at this point. Not after today's visit." He said taking it back from her, "I'll keep you around for pickle jars." He said patting her on the head as he headed for the door. "Didn't you have an appointment today too?" He asked sticking his head out to smoke now that it was fixed.
Alexithymiaa: "What happened at today's visit?" She asked firmly, following him out of the bathroom with her towel wrapped firmly around her, completely trying to bypass his inquirey about her own appointment.-
Covet: "It was pretty much confirmed that they want me to get the orthoscopic surgery done to clear out any debris in the socket, and possibly put in a bone graft on the part of my socket that's damaged." Felix said exhaling a big cloud of vapor. "What about yours? Please tell me you've got better news."
Alexithymiaa: "I'm sorry babe..." She said with a frown, stepping closer to the open door, but not too close because cold and towel and wet hair. "Yeah... he was really happy with my progress. And I'm officially a hundred pounds." She said with a forced smile, though her tone of voice was anything, but excited. "So when do they want to schedule your surgery?"-
Covet: He gave a slight shrug, "It is what it is at this point. I've pretty much only got myself to blame." Felix looked at her and smiled, "Hey that's fantastic news. I thought you were looking hotter than usual lately." He told her with a wink.
Alexithymiaa: "I'm not exactly going to argue with you there, but at least you've learned your lesson. I hope." She said as she pulled her arms around her to hug her towel to her body. "Is this what hotter than usual looks like? I never would have guessed."-
Covet: "Sure, we can say that." He said with another inhale. "No this is what drowned like a wet rat level of hot looks like. Hotter than usual is what you looked like last night in that dress. If it wasn't for the fact that Benji was here, I wouldn't have left it on you that long."
Alexithymiaa: -She rolled her eyes, pushing her wet hair back behind her ears. "You say that like your range of mobility right now really gives you a choice of what you can and can't do. Something about having to pour myself into my clothes everyday makes me feel like you're saying these things for my benefit."-
Covet: He lifted up his shoulder, "Wouldn't stop me from trying." He said with a cheeky grink. "See you say pouring like it's a bad thing, but to me all I can think about is sand pouring in an hour glass, which has a pretty damn good figure to it. So I'm still not seeing a downside, and I'm actually very very proud of you. You're staying on the right track while I just kind of jump between the ties and dick around when and where I'm not supposed to."
Alexithymiaa: "It is a bad thing because I can just feel myself exploding out of my pants. I haven't even worn any of my regular fit jeans because I feel like the high waisted ones just sort.... keep everything in." She said with a shrug, unloading just a bit. "Well I didnt stay on track very well today after my appointment, but before you say anything, I already called and made a midweek appointment with Dr. Montgomery."-
Covet: "I'm just going to go through and get rid of all of your current clothes. Since they're doing nothing but discouraging you. For the record, NOTHING is falling out of anywhere. Like right now, I can't see anything that is a turn off. If anything I am kicking myself that I can't throw you up onto that bed and steal that towel off of you." He said then nodded, giving her a hug, " Good, That makes me feel a little better about it."
Alexithymiaa: "You're going to get rid of all my clothes? Then what am I going to wear?" She asked with a raise of her brows, leaning in to hug him. "I think it's better for everyone if you don't throw me anywhere. On my way in earlier I tripped over Ozzy and banged my arm on the stair railing." She spoke, lifting her forearm up to show the reddish purple bruise that was clearly fresh.-
Covet: "That towel, duh." Felix said with a chuckle, then looked at the bruise on her elbow, bringing it up to his mouth to give it a kiss. "Better?"
Alexithymiaa: "So much." she dropped her arm and leaned in to kiss his lips before staring off out the door into their backyard. "Struggle or no struggle, I just want you to know I'm doing the best I can."-
Covet: "I know and I can see it, and I'm absolutely proud of you. We're going to have our hiccups. But you recognize that, and know what you need to do to combat that. So the best you can is all I ask."
Alexithymiaa: -She forced a smile, leaning over into him to bury her face into his neck. "Why can't we just snap our fingers and have everything be fixed?"-
Covet: "Because that would mean life is easy , and both of us know that life is a bitch who would never make things easy." Felix said as he nodded his head. "Plus, we're meant to struggle and fight in this life, so that we can relax and enjoy the next one."
Alexithymiaa: "That sounds like crap." She mumbled against him before pulling her face back so she could look up at him. "It just feels like if it's not one thing, it's another. Why are we always hit with all the worst shit and the biggest mountains?"-
Covet: "Because life knows that we're strong and can handle it. Even if we can't see that." He said to her pushing her hair out of her face. "Each step is one step closer to glory. One step farther from where we were."
Alexithymiaa: "I guess that's true..." She said with a sigh, chewing on the inside of her cheek. "I just feel like right now with all of the circumstances going on that I can't..." She paused, taking a deep breath. "...I can't really pick what I want and be comfortable in the dress I've always imagined I'd wear."-
Covet: "We've still got some time, and as much as I know you want to see yourself in THE dress for the day, This is something that comes before that. Now, I know they can kind of plan ahead for such things, when women are pregnant, so maybe we pay in advance for a last minute alteration. Can't they tuck extra fabric into the seams, descreetly in case they need to let it out? Or, maybe look for something that's made with stretchy material?"
Alexithymiaa: -Her eyes started to water at his solutions to the problems because all she heard was that she couldn't have what she wanted to wear. "I don't know, I don't even own a needle and thread. Cadence has made every one of my Halloween costumes for the past like five years. I don't know anything about seams or letting shit out, but I do know it's expensive and we really can't afford to do that right now."-
Covet: "Shhh, We'll make it work. I don't need anything special for the day, I've got dress pants, shoes and a shirt and my suspenders already, so that's going to save us for your wardrobe." He told her rubbing her back. "Now I've only seen a few episodes of those fashion shows, and I will openly admit a few of those were RuPaul's drag race, but... If those girls can make last minute alterations to their looks, I have no doubt that we can make it happen for you too."
Alexithymiaa: "Those are tv shows, Felix..." She said in a whine, blinking back the tears in her eyes. "I don't want some stupid dress to pull funds from other more important things. That's not fair. Dresses are expensive enough as it is without making things even more complicated." She exhaled deeply, dropping her head and sitting down on the bench at the end of the bed. "Maybe I should just buy a bunch of fabric and see if I can find a basic gown pattern online somewhere."-
Covet: "Those are reality competition TV shows, which means they're more realistic than not." Felix argued. "No. We're making the rest of this as simple, but elegant to suit our wants, but your Dress will be something that you don't have to stress over specifically. I will make it work, because if there is one thing that I definitely want you to have for this wedding, it's that. The cake is important to me, the dress is improtant to you, and we're not budging on these important points."
Alexithymiaa: (FELIX NO THEY ARE NOT. There is nothing realistic about them)
Alexithymiaa: -She pouted, lifting her face up to look at him. "We don't really have a choice. Whether it's important or not, our funds are limited. If the money just isn't there, then it's not there."-
Covet: [Shhh don't crush his dreams XD]
Covet: "Then I'll make sure it is there. I know you don't want some crazy over the top dress that's going to break the bank, because it's covered in lab made crystals. So... Don't worry about the price, just worry about what you want. I will worry about what needs to be made funds wise between now and then okay? I've already kind of got something in the works that's going to make at least my surgery coming up seem less daunting when it comes to finances."
Alexithymiaa: -She pursed her lips, feeling a pang of guilt when he mentioned surgery finances. "Well... we probably have less set aside for the wedding than we thought we did..." She started, pushing uncomfortably at her hair. "I got the bill for my hospital time the other day. Insurance covered eighty percent, so there's a pretty big bill left. I thought if I called the insurance company and tried to argue with them that they'd cover more and it would bring the bill down, but they weren't budging."-
Covet: "Hey, it's okay. We can cut costs a little bit... like with the cake, I know you wanted to go do cake tastings, but your cousin makes some nice looking cakes and such right? Maybe we talk to her instead, see if she'd be able to help us out there. It doesn't even have to be a big cake, since we're not going to have that many people anyways. Plus, I've talked to my boss at the studio and have some slightly better paying gigs coming up for some clients wanting some custom shots taken. My surgery.. the fucking school is going to cover. Because since this is something that has to do with the situation they're dragging their ass on, they're going to either give the police the footage and all that, or they're paying for my surgery, in order for me to keep my scholarship open. I've already kind of talked to some of the law students that come into the library about backing me on this free of charge, since they need experience and we can't afford real lawyers."
Alexithymiaa: "We're not cutting costs on the cake any more than we're cutting costs on my dress. Kelsey makes great cakes, but I want you to have exactly what you want and I don't know if she'll really have the time to do something of that caliber. I'll look into making all of our decor myself, I'll talk to Adam about DJing for a small fee, Dean is already refusing to charge us full price. We're not cutting on the cake." She said firmly because if he was going to say that, she could too. "Is that really going to work? With some law students?"-
Covet: "Okay fine, we won't cut cost on the cake. And I'll help with whatever decorations I can too. I can throw together a photoshoot set halfway decently, how hard could our small wedding venue be?" He said with a smile, then gave a shrug, "At the very least it should put a fire under the school's ass. Cause with the previous negative press they have already had, I'll not hesitate to bring this all to light and make it that much worse for the college. The fear alone should be enough to sway them to cover the cost. Because what's one surgery, compared to the amount of incoming tuition that wouldn't come due to people not thinking this place is at least mostly safe for their kids."
Alexithymiaa: "This place isn't safe..." She scoffed, shaking her head. "The amount of shit that's happened on school property... I can't." She shook it off, the hair on the back of her neck standing up. "It just bothers me that shes wandering around somewhere and hasnt been picked up because the school isn't cooperating. It's such bullshit."-
Covet: "I definitely agree. Which is why I intend to blackmail and possibly extort the college into covering the costs, because this shouldn't have happened at all, or should have been fixed and remedied by now." Felix said. "They don't like it? Well they should have thought about that before neglecting their students."
Alexithymiaa: -She ran her hand back through her damp hair, pulling her towel up a bit higher on her chest. "Just be careful. There's a fine line in all of that that borders illegal activity and I don't know how much I trust a bunch of law students to know how to walk it."-
Covet: "I trust up and coming law students more than I trust actual lawyers. The students at least want to try to stick to the rules." Felix said with a laugh, then grabbed a corner of her towel and quickly pulled it off of her with his good arm. " Now... since I can't throw you into bed... would you be so kind as to climb up there yourself?"
Alexithymiaa: (Adam would help him in a heartbeat and hes got a heart of gold so... win win?)
Alexithymiaa: -She tried to grab at the towel as he pulled it off of her, narrowing her eyes on him. "I will... so long as you realize you're not the one doing all the work here." She turned and crawled across the bed, sitting back on her knees and patiently waiting for him because she didnt want to hurt him by grabbing or anything.-
Covet: [ALL THE WIN! lol]
Covet: "I would never assume that I was the one doing ALL the work. I've only got one arm after all." He said with a laugh then stripped off what he could before climbing up on the bed with her to do god knows what with only one arm.
