Liquidthex: Minecraftserver.com ruined my weekend of minecraft in two ways.. first, on saturday I found out they added stargates back in but you have to get Traveller rank to build them.. To do that you have to find a golden apple in a "catacomb".
First question of course is what is a catacomb? Minecraftwiki defines it as the naturally occuring cave structures..
PPL were saying they have signs that mark them, and iron bars and stuff.
If it's the 1.8 strongholds there should only be 3 of them in the world due to buggyness I think?
About 6 people online got the rank already..
After questioning a bit it turns out the catacombs were admin-placed locations that were like 4 "dungeons" squished together... to which i think they meant catacombs squished together.
I spent pretty much all my time in minecraft on saturday looking for the catacombs, and looking through abandoned mineshafts for the catacombs &| a golden apple.
No luck, naturally.
Liquidthex: So then sunday comes along, I said screw the golden apple.. and decided to build a tower..

I built a 3x3 tower with a spiral going down the outside from top to bottom, and walls of glass to the spiral that guide water from the top to the bottom.. I put a piston to control the water at the top and then I started filling the center with a redstone transmission tower..

I had JUST finished it and connected the redstone at the ground so a switch at ground controlled the water flow at the top.
I was going to create an underground minecart timing loop to trigger pulses of water down the tower.

THEN!@#

Some dumbfuck admin types a big brother rollback command without a range on it, and it rolls back EVERYONE'S BUILDINGS by 1 hour
Which was not my whole tower just the redstone part and half the exterior spiral.. Not too bad but still fucking annoying 1 hour of solid working on the tower gone..

Everyone was PISSED. Admins assured us nothing to worry about just chill it'll be taken care of they muted chat because it got too chaos...

Liquidthex: They issued a re-do but the operation on such a large scale was itsself taking a very long time, things were first UNBUILDING, they undid my entire tower which started saturday night late night...
then about 10 mins later that came back, and then the rest came back.. the redstone was attached wrong but I could fix that! So all was good...

But then
The server begins it's interval map save.. the world-wide re-do was still going on for other people at the time.. and the server crashed.

When the server came back my structure was fine but the re-do data was lost, so the admins decided to roll back to a backup.

which undid all of my sunday work.
