- World Update 2 - 1776: Africa
- In 1776, the US government's official world analysis is released to public records. It covers Diplomatic, Political, and Military matters of many of the world's nations. It also includes maps of various filters. This is what its African section reads.
- Africa
- Just like in the Middle East, there is an obvious taker-of-the-crown of most domineering African nation.
- Mali
- The Kingdom of Mali has been a powerhouse of expansion and union in Africa for centuries. After many years of resistance and nationalism from the other West African tribes, Mali has finally managed to create a stable, commanding nation. Its government is similar to Feudal Monarchies of medieval Europe, ruled by Mansa Kabayo Biyu (coolest name ever). It has westernized itself in many ways in recent years, but it has fallen behind in technologies compared to Europe. Its allies are fellow Western African nation Benin, Eastern African Marehan, and Persia, and Timbuktu is its protectorate. Despite its rather sparse population, it fields the world's 7th largest army at 85 thousand troops. It has very little navy to speak of.
- Benin
- Thanks to its large ally Mali, Benin has been able to maintain its coastal position against the conquering colonists, even taking back the Gold Coast (although that was from Alexandria, who was in the throes of its downfall). Ruled by Sultan Ohuan I Umaru, Benin is currently at war with Haiti (assisted by Mali), which has colonized several chunks of the West Coast. The military is quite weak, which is why the nation depends so much on Mali for support, in exchange for trade power.
- Kanem Bornu
- This archaic tribal Kingdom is one of the last of its kind, which have held on to their native roots and shunned western technologies. As such, Kanem Bornu is a primitive nation with no real relations to the outside world. Even Mali has not invaded the weak tribe for 100 years. The ruler is Sultana Hadil I Kanemi.
- Marehan
- Marehan was once a nation exclusive in the Horn of Africa. In the last 2 centuries, it conquered all of Ethiopia and was threatening Egypt. Unfortunately, Iraq ran out of easy conquests to the North and expanded instead south, into the Horn of Africa and along the Coast of Ethiopia. In the ensuing chaos after the invasion by Iraq, Gondar broke from their conquerors, as did Nobatia, and Funj rebels are attempting to follow suit. The reason for the rebel successes is due to the decline of the Marehan army, which now numbers less than 20 thousand. It currently has a regency council for 13 year old Umar Omar (changed my mind, this is the coolest name ever).
- Gondar
- Gondar gained independence only 20 previous, and still holds all the territory it took in the treaty. Gondar and Nobatia are the only Coptic nations in the world, and the only Christian African nations (other than converted Ndongo. It is led by Jalaaladdin II Qasimiyya (I take it back...).
- Kilwa
- The once rich and powerful Indian Ocean trade nation is still powerful, but it does not play the same role. It encompasses the entire Swahili and Mozambique Coasts and still controls most of the trade coming from India. Led by Sultan Sulayman IX Zanzibari, its impressive army of 50 thousand troops is currently assisting their ally Eretna with the invasion of Georgia, far to the north. Its navy of 52 ships makes it the 11th most powerful in the world.
- Ndongo
- First, Galicia settled and began trade. Then the less friendly Haitians arrived. With a conquest that ended less than a decade ago, Haiti has taken a good third of Ndongo's land. With the new conquests, the trade of slaves to the Americas has continued, and Ndongo's Queen Barbara I Ngola was forced to convert to Catholicism. Now, the nation waits for its last truce with Haiti to end, with no army or navy to defend.
- Colonists
- European colonies have existed in African for 3 centuries, since the first Brits then Teutons arrived. Now, all of South Africa is claimed by Britain, other than two small areas of Castilian and Aquitaine ownership. The West Coast is taken by the Teutonic Order and Haiti, with small parts controlled by Aquitaine, Britain, Castile, and Galicia. Madagascar is completely taken by Galicia.
- NOTE:
- - The Teutons are still a Monastic Order
- - Tomorrow will be Asia and Oceania. Tuesday should be the New World, then we are back on track!
